hi guys,
I started to get this clicking sound from camera yesterday while closing and opening camera app. I never noticed this clicking/ticking sound before. I restarted my phone, took battery out and its still there. Sometimes its louder that i can even notice while holding my phone. Its not coming out from speaker and i checked all settings. Its mechanical and coming out from camera. I have no problem using camera. Everything else working fine. i am on stock rom never rooted. I was wondering if you guys ever noticed this on your phone. I searched on google but didnt find anyone with a same problem on Inspire 4g. Thanks in advance.
No noise on mine. ClearDroid.

It's the lens moving to focus the image for the picture. Mine is noticeable too.
I've been having problems with my back camera.. It can take pictures but randomly only shows a black preview of the picture taken and says "no thumbnail" for that picture or half of the picture shows gray or green colors only and also sometimes force closes.. Front camera works fine and I've already tried different camera apps and different roms but still facing this problem.. I've got no problems using video recording though that's why I think this is really weird..
Hope someone could help me out on this since I've got such an unreliable camera that is randomly usable for taking pictures which is really annoying..
I had same problem when I was on ICS but with front camera. I flashed JB and now it's not even showing black screen, it just crashes

I finally found out what is triggering my camera not to work properly.. When the device heats up that's when the back camera has issues (maybe since it is located on the upper part of the phone and that's where the phone usually heats up)..
Does anyone have an idea if this is hardware or software related?
Hello everyone,
I was one of the brave (and stupid) guys who tried to convert the ultra into a maxx by myself.
After I assembled everything back (new battery and case), I noticed the camera was not working anymore, nor the flashlight or the flashlight app.
I disassembled it many times since then and everything seems fine. The camera module is placed where it should be and the rest seems fine.
Has anyone's camera stopped working?
Mine only shows front facing option now. And I really don't know what to do.
It's probably a hardware issue, so FDR and deleting cache or doing safe mode won't solve anything.
If anyone knows what to do or which replacement part to buy, please tell me.
Make sure that the clip is closed for the camera I had that issue for the droid mini

I'm probably getting the Droid Turbo but I would like the camera and flashlight to work on this one.
I am also facing the same problem.. my rear camera of droid mini isn't working nor the flashlight.. what should I do?? I already tried that clear cache n data reboot n all that.. nothing happens.. camera is still same as before.. I am solo worried plZ help me what should I do
My phone suddenly started having problems with the camera on my Nexus 5.
About two weeks ago I went to record a video of some cars at a show and I got an error message saying can't connect to camera. I did the usual quick fix stuff like clear the camera cache and even dalvik. Uninstalled the stock google camera app and tried many different versions without any solution to my can't connect to camera message.
I opened up the phone and unplugged all the ribbon cables and reseated. Still same problem. I disconnected the rear camera cable and booted phone. Now my google camera app works and defaults to the font camera - all OK. Replugged camera cable and same problem again.
I ordered a new camera module and have since fitted it. Same problem.
WTF!?
Aarrrggggg I love this love hate relationship I have with the Nexus line. I ALWAYS have some sort of failure on all my previous Nexus phones and now includes my 2nd Nexus 5. Haha
I don't under voltage or overclock. Stock kernel. Tried loads of popular ROMs that don't have this problem on other users phones.
I don't accept that both camera modules are dead. Guessing some sort of camera controller hardware at fault which would mean brand new mother PCB.
Before buying the Nexus 5X (I've still not learnt ha) can anyone think of anything to try?
Cheers

does your phone work fine with apps like Instagram because it selects the front camera.
Apart from completely wiping the phone and starting again with the official google image.
Seriously annoying when the rest of your phone is mint and works flawlessly. Wouldn't mind but I really look after my phones and never drop them.

I noticed huge overheating while using camera. Seems like not doing too much photo, but phone become terribly hot!
After making around 30 photo in HDR+ portrate mode, camera started lagging and phone overheated too much. Camera didn't stopped. I am not sure it is OK. I know if record 4k video for some 15 min it definitely cause overheat. But here... With 30 photos...
Does somebody else have same issue?

I have had camera problems too. Yesterday I took many HDR+ photos and it got to the point it was un-usable. When the phone cooled, all good again. Next time I may try to turn off HDR+. But I really like HDR+.
OP, you find out more on this? I switched from a note 8 to the Pixel 2 XL and it's been nothing but headaches with the camera. The burst mode is slow, the phone overheats and starts to become unresponsive, and the video starts lagging. The phone gets so hot, the whole phone about freezes. You could literally burn yourself to the back of the phone. It happens esp using video recording with or without a case.
I'm about ready to switch back to the note 8.
Still have the issue(
I heard that the problem may be because of photo are uploading at the same time to Google photos and that is why causing overheat. But turning WiFi and mobile data off didn't give any positive result for me(
And seems like camera itself causing overheating not the wifi module.

I've tried in safe mode. Again with WiFi and mobile data off. Still the same. Terrible overheat(

I had this problem too, but after reset it solved, seems my phone doesn't heat up from the camera
