Just got a G4. Factory reset as soon as I got it. Its on 6.0. I'm having issues where when I download an app it either takes forever to install all together or it gets stuck on installing and doesent install at all. Also when and if it finally installs it's missing from the app drawer in both stock launcher and nova. Anyone else have this problem and know what to do? I'm pretty sure this happenedyyears ago when I had a G3. Have they really not fixed this issue?

Hi I had that same issue with one of the colored themes I think it was green could not get the phone to reboot into clockwork mod either. Solution was plugging the charger in and turning phone on after thee battery charging symbol came on and it rebooted into recovery automatically were I had to restore to a ealier image backup I had that was the only way I could get past the fc's.

That was the first thing I tried and it didn't work. I ended up using the back to stock program. Now I have the agonizing pain of redoing my entire phone.

did you install a second launcher (like launcher pro) and delete tw3 before installing 4.5?
I did those to steps and I have had little issue with tw4.5.
The only issue so far was yesterday, I tried dropping some apps from the app drawer onto the home screen. Each time I did this my phone did a soft reboot, after pulling battery and rebooting several times it was still an issue. So I cleared defaults for tw and ran launcher pro and everything was fine, I switched back to tw and the issue was resolved. Not sure what caused it, but clearing data/defaults seemed to do the trick.
Infused with gingerbread **** thanks GTG465X

what rom/kernel? there seems to be an incompatibility with entropy's kernel on gb for me. if you have root explorer installed you can navigate to the /system/app directory and remove it but only if you have another launcher installed. if you cant launch apps (mine showed the app drawer as blank) you can use the search key to find apps.
What I did is flash tw4.zip through CWM. Then download TW4 manager then update the latest stable version. Everything worked after that. Widgets and all

I just picked up a bad esn sprint phone. Its pure stock, locked bootloader and all. I did a couple factory resets. And cant for the life of me figure out whats causing the lag. For a minute or two after boot its tolerable app drawer speed but whenever I open something (any app at all) it will hang anywhere from 5-30 seconds. Then once the app opens it will hang up again. Sometimes popping up the not responding wait or force close box. I hit wait and almost instantly its useable but laggy. Anyone have any ideas

Backup your stuff. Unlock bootloader. Flash factory image. Report back if it solves the problem.

No working pc at the moment. And why should you need to reflash the image on a factory unrooted device. It seems after i clear memory with clean master it speeds right up again for 15-20 minutes. It gets down to 11% available memory. I don't have really anything installed except xda and some tools. My hope for this phone is to try and learn how to port a ROM and want this phone to run smooth pure stock before i start so if it has a lag when i port i will know its my fault. And when flashing stock image can i downgrade without any issues

Factory images are one of the best sources to start afresh. Flashing a factory image (4.1.2 in this case) will wipe EVERYTHING and you will be able check if the lag is still present.
And since, you are working on porting a new ROM which I thing is > 4.1.2, you will not face any downgrading issues.
Hi, ive just upgraded to Android 5.0.1 manually (13mb update from 5.0 didnt flash) by flashing each img Individually.
The problem in facing is that my phone no longer thinks it has any storage. Ive tried various different apps and some detect it and others don't. The only thing I have done that might of caused this is recovering my user data, but other than that, everything went fine.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Or does anyone know a fix?
Thanks in advance

I had the same issue, 4 reflashes of the full 5.01 later .... grrrr
I can't say what caused it, I can only attribute it to a an app that was causing it. I had google restoring all my apps at once and each time I let it do that the SD would disappear/unmount.
On the last rebuild I installed apps one at a time and so far it's been all good. If it was an app I don't know which one, I haven't installed absolutely everything I had on originally.
No help at all huh ?
Cheers

I had something like this happen . Are you using 4.4 and 5.0?
This happens quite often. Download a terminal emulator and run "su" (enter) and then "restorecon -FR /data/media/0" (enter) and reboot.

Haven't tried this yet but I wish this solution was around a week ago, I've had to reinstall everything manually, rather than restoring it
Thanks nonetheless

The solution has been around in a thread called "sdcard problems" in general for a long time. Always try to search
I bought a Nexus 5 used online. I can't remember what version is came with, maybe 4.4.4. First thing I did with it was update it which put it to Adroid 5.1.1 LMY48B. When any update came out after that I would try to update it, but it would not work. I would download the update, which would then let me install it, but once it restarts to install it, it gives me the Adroid fella with an "Error" underneath. This has happened for every update and now even for Android 6.0.1. I have cleared the cache and wiped the phone entirely multiple times. It is not rooted or have any custom backup's or whatever. It is just unlocked.
I literally have tried everything and haven't a clue how to fix it. Is there any hope you guys could try and help me?
Have you tried flashing a stock Google ROM and then running the update? Note that you need to unlock the bootloader before you can flash a stock ROM.
Facing same issues here but my N5 is rooted and I've not installed any custom recovery...

I don't think Google updates will install on a rooted system.
