Reboot defaults to TWRP instead of the SYSTEM - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I setup the following ROM on my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 device:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-2014/development/rom-android-6-marshmallow-t3254901
Everything seems to have gone well. I am able to use the device as expected.
Though if I Power Off the device and start it again, the system goes into TWRP directly. I am able to select Reboot->System which then reboots into the system.
How can I force the startup to go to System and only bring up TWRP when I press the specific recovery key combination?

If you are posting here for a 2014 model guess you have flashed the product for not a Note 2014 model .

[Completed] [Q] Tab 3 lite t110 stuck in recovery/download after app

I have a samsung tab 3 7" lite (or sm T110.)
I downloaded the CWM recovery which was not a problem. The problem that I encountered however was that I was not able to get to it.
I did not know however, that when you push the power+home+volume up combination that it can take up to 60 seconds to get into CWM recovery.
Frustrated I downloaded an app to get me into the CWM. I downloaded "reboot recovery" by Qbanin from the playstore.
The app said it required root accces which at that point i did not have yet. the app however seemed to work fine.
The app led me straight to the recovery mode. However I am now unable to go back to a normal boot.
I can still get into download mode and or recovery mode but this is all my tablet currently does.
After this debacle i figured there must be some setting somewhere which enables this boot to recovery. So I started whiping the dalvik cache, the regular cache, I did a factory reset. and I also formatted the cache. I installed root acces from a .zip. I installed a custom rom (T110UEUANE4.Full.Rooted.Deodexed.June2014). But nothing helped.
Never did i get any warnings or errors.
I have been googling since friday and cant figure this thing out.
How do I get back to normal boot?
Please help me

[Completed] Help ! Note 3 N9006 China bootloop, no recovery, usb debugging disabled

Hello all fellow developer, OP & members. I'am newbie here, sorry for trouble.... I trully need help, I have seen thread like this but no response Iam afraid I got no response too....
I recently bought this Note 3 chinese version because of its cheap price. It comes with gesture, steel stylush, internal 16gb, RAM 1gb, 5.7" screen. I buy this phone 2 unit, one for my mother, one for my gf.... but it turns out bad, my gf phone now stuck in bootloop..... use this phone not even a week jsut because of my fault !! I accidentaly soft brick my gf phone !!
Here's the story..... at first I back up my entire gf's SGS2 (official edition) using titanium backup and send it to Note 3 N9006 (china version) for my gf primary use, when I restore all it pop up 'force close com.android.phone' everytime this problem happen because I replaced the Phone App from Note 3 using Phone App samsung galaxy S2... this pop up will not appear if I do wipe chace on Phone App then restart..... I tried factory reset it doesn't help because I messed up with this Phone App that is categorized as system app that is embeded into ROM. Oh yeah after the Note 3 comes I rooted it using framaroot boromir exploit & it successfull can run any app root
I'am getting annoyed at this problem force close pop up, so I decided to install & restore original 'Phone App' of this Note 3 China version use different approach. I want do this to get rid of persistent pop up every time I restart, because sometimes I forgot to clear chace of this Phone App to prevent popup error. I have this Note 3 Chine Phone App backed up at first time, then I tried using app like CWM manager from playstore to install this Phone App' via CWM recovery install.... but it FAIL it says : siganture verivication failed. then AFTER RESTART I got stuck at samsung logo its definitelly BOOTLOOP problem. this is where I found out I'am in state of SOFT BRICK !!!! T-T
want to go to recovery mode, I tried key combination VOL_UP +Power. the interface shows up is all black, screen appear flipped rotated 180 degree from normal view, small font white color centered left aligned.
the menu is written like this
Select boot mode:
[VOLUME_UP to select. VOLUME_DOWN is OK.]
[recovery mode]
[fastboot mode]
[normal mode] <<==
the VOL_UP is working, it can navigate through 3 menu, but VOL_DOWN can do nothing. holding Power button 10 sec is restart.
my current usb debug option state is OFF so I can't use Odin method.....
I don't know what to do now.... I've already ordered online USB jig to force download mode & the package it still on the way. But, I have googling around this whole week found out many said MTK based Android Phone don't have download mode & can't install it using Odin..... so I think my final solution using USB jig its just seems hopeless..... please help me guys I'am desperate.
I think if at least I can do this just one at lsit bellow, my phone will normally boot again :
- factory reset then wipe chace from recovery mode (every combination I tried always go to 'Select boot mode' or normal boot stuck at bootloop), if I just can do recovery mode al things will go back to normal after wipe chace then restart
- if possible after USB jig comes, enter download mode then wipe chace. restart. normal boot again (untested)
- if possible after USB jig comes, enter download mode then flash custom ROM, firmware, & everything restart. fresh install (untested)
. . . . in above list, I don't know how to do it
Hi,
You've made a couple serious mistakes here. First, installing system apps from another device to yours is never a good idea and sure to cause many issues. And, you're trying to use Samsung proprietary apps that rely on the Touchwiz framework to function on your device. That will never work, and as you've witnessed, can mess your device up very easily.
Doing these things can cause force closes for sure.... And have a good chance at bricking your device depending on what you try to install.
So, you're only hope here now would be completely wiping your device and reinstalling the stock software. No, don't use Odin... It's only for Samsung. Your device is not a Samsung, at all. And be sure the firmware is for your exact model number.
I can't find any relevant threads on this on XDA, but here is a dedicated thread on your device that you can ask for help in,

Good luck!

Troubleshooting help for Rooting Samsung S7 G930F Nougat connections won't switch on

Hi
I have followed the instructions to the letter to root Android 7 on my S7 G930F. Installed TWRP & all the relevant files, flashed through TWRP & then flashed verity & SuperSU. It worked, in as far as the phone rebooted, but my Wifi won't switch on (nor will bluetooth, data or any other connection) & when I type, the letters overwrite each other.
I can cope with the overwriting, as I could get through the setup & then install Swiftkey Keyboard & log into my Samsung & Google accounts using that, but the connections just refuse to turn on. So I've had to reflash back to the original stock ROM as below (from Sammobile, as my phone has not had the update sent to me yet).
Anyone else had this problem? Not seen it anywhere else (so far).
Samsung Galaxy S7 G930F (UK)
Android 7.0
Baseband: G930FXXU1BPHJ
Build No: NRD90M.G930FXXU1DQB7
Security Patch Level 1st Feb 2017
Thanks

Hi
How did you upgraded to Nougat? I see that your modem is still on Marsmellow
Hi Max
I downloaded the latest Nougat firmware from Sammobile (the one for UK/Ireland & HG3 is the same one, my network is 3 but my phone is European unlocked) & flashed it. Are you saying it's the modem that's the problem?
Thanks

Hi
That baseband seems old , when you upgraded your phone what files did you use . usually you have 5 files , from those 5 you use 4 ,AP BL & CP + home_csc or CSC ......CSC will factory reset your phone , home_csc will not reset your phone if it is the same as the one in your phone
Hi Max
Ah hah, when I flashed the ROM, I only used the biggest file, didn't touch the others. Maybe I should try to flash it again with the other files too, as you've suggested. That's not mentioned in any instructions I've seen. I'm sort of halfway between a novice & an almost medium novice with regard to this kind of thing.
I will give that a go tonight - thanks very much!

Is all part of the learning process
Yes i would do so , flash the full rom
As guide you can check this thread

Good luck
Thanks Max. Unfortunately, it still didn't work. I took the liberty of downloading an XEU UK ROM from Sammobile (the original one I'd got one for my network, which gave me the 3 logo when I booted up, so I didn't want that). I flashed it as per the instructions with all the files, then I went through the root instructions. I booted up fine, but still the same prob - Wifi wouldn't activate, although the keypad was fine this time. Very odd!
Info is now:
Android 7.0
Baseband Version: G930FXXU1DQB1
Build No: NRD90M G930FXXU1DQB7
I think I may not bother, the S8 will be out soon & I intend to get that, so I may wait on root info on that. I've disabled the bloatware for now.
Many thanks again for your help though!

Hi
Strange... what error gives you? how it does behave when you try to connect?
Check you settings , avoid smart connection , did you check in a different wifi
Also did you try to factory reset , and wipe dalvick and cache from recovery
Hiya
It doesn't give an error, I've factory reset the phone through TWRP, so I get the usual setup menu - select your language, then it goes to the Wifi screen. Usually Wifi will switch on & a list of routers come up almost straight away. After I've rooted, the phone boots, I get the setup page, select my language, then the Wifi page just says "Switching on" & does nothing, just stays like that., nothing comes up. I've even left it for well over 10 minutes & it does nothing except saying "Switching On", so if I skip that section, go through the rest of the setup & finish, when I go back to connections in settings, it says the Wifi is on, but it's "greyed out", i.e I press it & nothing happens & it's not connected anywhere.
I haven't tried wiping Dalvick & cache through recovery though. I'm off work next week, I will probably dedicate some time to it then, I don't like something like this beating me!!
Thanks again for all the suggestions.

No way , never beating
Try to boot in "SAFE MODE" to make sure there is no app making trouble ....
Press and hold the Power key.
As soon as you can see the ‘Samsung Galaxy S7 ’ on the screen, release the Power key and immediately hold the Volume Down key.
Continue holding the Volume Down button until the device finishes rebooting.
You may release it when you can see ‘Safe mode’ in the bottom left corner of the screen.
I can remember something about there being a minimal setup for Nougat, but this can only be done by the stock recovery.("sec_csc.zip" recovery script in the csc image If you're interested. Apparently got something to do with default language settings which bugs out the keyboard) If booting in safe mode as mentioned above doesn't help can you please try the following:
Flash the full ROM again(All files in relevant slots in odin) but not the HOME csc with auto reboot ticked. The phone will factory reset and boot into the setup screen. Run through the ROM setup and only once it's done flash TWRP and root. AFAIK this only needs to be done once per device, after which you can factory reset with TWRP again

Possible to Recover files after a Factory Reset/Recovery? - Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Hi!
We have a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 which was starting to become unstable and where it automatically asked if we wanted to do a factory reset/recovery during bootup. I do not remember exactly what it said.
Because I had important documents on the device I chose 'No', but before I was able to do a backup the device was shut down and restarted by my son who chose 'Yes' for the factory reset/recovery.
Since I was not present I do not know the method being used for recovery. Before recovery the device was rooted and of all apps SuperSU is still and the only app present of all the apps that was installe before. When trying to start SuperSU I get 'Unfortunately, SuperSU has stopped'. I am only telling this to illustrate the behavior of Android after the recovery.
Android version was/is 4.0.4. When booting into recovery mode it says 'Android system recovery <3e>'. When using the stock 'My Files' it is only showing default folders on sdcard and no previous files/documents.
So going back to my initial question; is it possible to recover my documents?
Thanks

*solved* Two SM-P905 stuck on Samsung logo / 5.0.2 / no root

We do use two SM-P905 on stock rom without major problems since 2015.
Mid of January one tablet got stuck on reboot on the Samsung logo.
No change on reboot without SD-card and Sim.
I decided for wipe data/factory reset using power + volume up ... (LRX22G.P905XXSABQB1)
So far so hard work
One week later the second device decided to show the same "feature".
Same procedure again.
Today the first device got stuck on the Samsung logo again.
Before I start over again I have to find the reason.
Reviewing my steps bringing the devices back to live I realize that I did not 1.) format the SD card and 2.) do a factory reset/wipe in the Android settings after having the Android UI running.
Any advice on that issue?

Solved:
Installed Valera's LineageOS 16.0/Android 9.
