Could be it went bad. Do not use quick format in Windows. Format it in the phone. There are also lots of sd card checkers out there for Windows and for Android.
Card has to be reformatted in exfat partition layout lotta g3 users that are upgrading have been runnin into it ourselves and it seems to fix it at least on our g3s

Well, I tried formatting my 8gb micro sd card that came with my Mytouch4g and now Windows 7 doesn't recognize it. When I insert it into my Mytouch it just says a "blank card" was inserted. I can SEE the size of it when using things like EASEUS or going into disk management but I can't format or anything. I've tried changing the Drive letter and that doesn't work.
Does anyone know what I should do?
Did you just use Windows to format, and did you do a quick format or a full format? Also, what file system did you use?
Sorry about the super late reply. But yes, I used Windows to format, and now im stuck with the problem stated above. I think it was FAT.
Try a different program or os like linux to read/reformat the card.
But its possible that it is defective.
Happened to me that way once.
The card was showing bad performance i thought i could fix it by reformating it, after that i couldn't get it to work again.
If you have installed rom manager, try and format the Sd card from that.
So I had rooted my phone no problem, been using it for over 2 months now. Again, no problem what so ever. I've just installed CM7 on my mytouch 4g slide and noticed a lot of bugs that still needed to be worked out. so I wiped my phone clean and restored it to an earlier date. After I did that, my sd card has been giving me an error as stated "SD card blank or unsupported filesystem." I've tried formatting it, other SD cards and nothing works. is there anyone that can help?!
i wouldn't know how that happened to your sdcard, but when you say you tried formatting it, how did you format it? i once got an sdcard from an ebay purchase, and it gave me that very same message and was unusable(and formatting it with the phone wasn't working). i made it usable by formatting it with a program called SDFormatter, which i downloaded free for Windows. took a montrously long time for the format, but once it was done, the sdcard was fine.
that sucks that you seem to have lost all your stuff tho?
Try flashing a different ROM. The CM7 we have is still in alpha. Give Team Douche time to work out the bugs.
the problem doesn't seem to be the SD card. because all the data was still there. I tried using another SD card thinking maybe that was the problem but it gave me the same error.
I've already factory reset my phone and its still showing the same problem
Could be dust in the SD card slot or some other debris. Try a little bit of compressed air..

I installed the SDFormatter program you mentioned and formatted my wife's 16gig card. Prior to the format the card wouldn't mount in either of our phones and very sporadically on the PC. Now the card will mount without a problem and is usable again.
Thanks bud,

awesome, glad it worked for you also
Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what I can possibly do??
The card came as EXFAT, but most roms only support FAT32.
I formatted the card to FAT32 which was fine .. but after copying a few files the card now refuses to write or delete files. I can still open and view media that's on it but that's about it. I can't even re-format it, it will say the disk can not be formated or write error. The card isn't corrupt though, I copied around 30gbs of video on it when it was in EXFAT partition before. J
I'm using an SD adaptor into my card reader, but yes I have ensured the lock switch is off.
edit - oh also, when you place the card into the phone it'll say that the card is damaged/blank.
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers,

Make sure you format it in the phone
Every time I place the card in, it will say the card is damaged or blank
Then it tries to format it but then goes through the same loop of saying it's damaged/blank

Did you try to format it on Linux? I've experienced some problems with SD cards formated on Windows (assuming that you run Windows )

pretty much - there's nothing you can do. I decided to email Sandisk and here's their response:
I understand that the error that appear after format is “write protected”. First we would like to apologize for the inconvenience.
I understand that you are getting write protection error while accessing the flash drive. The flash drive has detected a potential fault and become “write protected” to prevent data loss. There is no method to fix this. You will need to back-up your data and replace the flash drive.
So you have to RMA it. I'm abit confused because others on XDA have successfully covnerted their 64gb cards to FAT32 without any issues.
Could it be a faulty batch of sd cards?.
my windows phone 7 (HD7) the rom crashed so there's only one way to make it work ,that is to restore it and lose everything on it to make it work,,,,but i want all the data on it ,so i took the sd card but ,unfortunately microsoft locked the wp7 sd card, so you have to format it to make it work on a computer ,i formatted it so i can use it on the computer and use a data recovery software to get my data back,,but nothing comes out except sometimes this file (ReadyBoostPerfTest.tmp) and i found out the microsoft didn't just locked the sd it's even used a strange file system not fat or fat32 or ntfs it's something else............
Sad news

Sorry to tell you this but... you can't, WP7 uses a TFAT file system, that no os can read except for the same WP7, even if you can unlock the card without formatting it, how could you read the file system? now you have the card unlocked and formatted, no utility for dta recovery can help you because of the file system it has before... :crying:
I'm really sorry.
Kind regards.
My Pico stopped recognizing the microSD card. Can't view it nor formatting, nothing. Under Windows, Linux, Android recovery... I was using 2.3.5 with Link2sd and now my 8GB card showing up 30 megs and it seems to be locked for some reason (like locked SD card by the lock. but microSD doesn't have any locks) Please help me, what can I do? Could you reccomend someone who can help me with it?
I know that I removed card without releasing it properly from phone... I had some important files there :/
Have u try using windows disk management to see the drive is present or not?
If a partition was corrupted or missing, most of the time it won't be shown on my computer

I tried everything on a pc. Windows shows unformated 30megs sd card, Minitool Partition wizard shows it: http://i.imgur.com/wRLzSmU.jpg
Linux and GParted pretty much the same. I can't format it under pc to get the previous 8GB size...
