Happen to run into the Teclast X89, and since my Teclast X98 Air was stolen, I thought...
Unfortunately the X89 has a dual boot with Android
I don't need Android, and would like the extra space for Windows.
How can I safely get Windows only on the Teclast X89?
Thanks!

Hi.1 st post.
I have a Kyros 7015 4Gb , got it real cheap. Although Android is cool and all, I really am a Ubuntu/Debian guy at heart. I have installed Debian in PC's as low as 300mhz/64Mb running OK with Ice. I'm really curious about installing a more or less Debian or ubuntu with any light GUI in the Kyros. As far as I know, Debian 5 and 6 have ARM support in the kernel.
There is a blog from a known linux tinkerer which shows how to install linux inside a smartphone. it has a Debian and a Ubuntu compressed image :
nerd65536.blogspot.com/2011/01/how-to-instal-debian-or-ubuntu-in
I have tested this on a Motorola Cliq with a Ext3/SD-EXT/Swap partitioned 8gb microsd card and damn it works. I was able to have a full running Debian distro inside the phone. Even has a Gui through a VPN session.
But the same method wasnt possible in the Kyros. The install scripts expects at least 2 available partitions to install. As we know the Kyros only has 1 partition available.
SmartQ 5 and 7 sport a triple boot firmware that has Ubuntu 9.04 selectable. That would be a nice alternative, because SmartQ's have the same telechips cpu as the Kyros, and the Kyros has 2 more internal gb's.
However, SmartQ's dont have a Clockwork recovery based firmware, firmware has to be loaded through a USB cable and Windows (ughhh).
Kyros wifi seems to be based a Atheros 6000 variant. Might as well work for Aircrack, lol
So, what could be done? Can the blog based linux install.sh be modified? Or can a SmartQ recovery image be ported to the Kyros to use their firmware?
Thanks in advance..
I've seen some RK3066 tablets mentioned, but I think it's time to publish some software and assist those who can and are curious to develop.
First of all, this is the same old Teclast P85 with an Allwinner A10 chip, but this time it hosts a more powerful RK3066 dual core chip, with "quad core" Mali 400 (from what I understand it uses two physical cores and two threaded ones). Alongside it there is 1 GB of RAM, internal SD card of 16 GB, 1024x768, 8 inches...
What I bring here to the table is both a ROM from Teclast, the last working one to my knowledge (1.17) and a /system pull, in the hope that someone wants to pick them up.
If someone picks this and wants to poke about, I'll be glad to test and report.

Hi Logseman, are there any way to root this tablet ?
Yes, you can use ZhuoDaShi with these instructions:

Christian Troy has been able to bring CWM to RK3066 devices. I'm laying a How-To here, but I don't guarantee that CWM will work flawlessly or as intended. I just used these steps to install it on my tablet, and they worked,
You need the update.img with the ROM you're using in your tablet, Wendal's tools to unpack RK images, and Christian Troy's CWM build.
1) Unzip the file which contains Wendal's tools.
2) Rename your update.img to wendal.img and move it to the folder where Wendal's tools are.
3) Run Runme.bat
4) Go to the Temp folder and copy the parameter file you have obtained.
5) Unzip the file which contains CWM.
6) Enter the folder which says "rom" and paste the parameter file from your tablet, replacing the one that is there.
7) Run the RKAndroidTool app in the CWM folder.
8) Connect your tablet in Flashmode: switch it off, and connect it while you hold the VOL+ button. If Windows doesn't find the drivers, they're packaged in the "Drivers" folder of the CWM file.
9) Now the RKAndroidTool should recognize your tablet. Click on "Flash ROM".
10) The tablet will restart in CWM after the flashing. Just poke around for a bit, and if everything's all right, restart the tablet,
Thanks go, of course, to Christian Troy and Wendal. If you can, donate to those guys, they're amazing!
I have a Teclast x 98 AIR 2 HG8N. I'd like to install a custom ROM, but don't want to lose the Windows 8 partition. I would like it to be rooted, as well.
Is there a thread with clear and tested instructions that specifically relates to the HG8N? I don't want to take a chance on bricking my tablet so I
haven't attempted to follow any of the general guides recommended for the Teclast x98 Air 3G or x98 Air 2
Thanks
I also have HG8N and I flashed Android ROM to Mirek's ROM. Check out :

install included drivers and run batch file, follow screen instructions.
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Helix (First Gen)
Specs:
Intel I5-3337U (Intel HD 4000)
4GB Ram
128GB SSD
I'm wondering which OS/File I should try? Ive tried the most recent IPTS Build (Bliss-v11.10--OFFICIAL-20191215-1101_x86_64_k-k4.19.24-ax86-ipts2_m-18.3.5-pie-x86-llvm80_ld-2.4.99-ma-p_dg-pie-x86_dh-undefined_gms.iso) And once I get to "Detecting Android....... Android found at sda1" and after that it freezes. Booting with no hardware acceleration boots but it has no support for anything. Is there a build or firmware that supports this tablet?
Any help would be appreciated!
I found that Bliss-v12.1-Bliss-OS-OFFICIAL-20191205-201912052127_k-undefined_m-q-x86_ld-q-x86_dg-q-x86_dh-q-x86.iso is the version that works best for this machine. If you have a 3rd Gen intel id say try that.
I have an old Tablet PC with an Allwinner A23 Quad-Core, 1GB RAM and 1GB, 5GB more storage, What's the maximum unofficial Android update that I can get?
I attached the CPU-Z screenshots for more info.
Forget it.
Impossible?
I think so. This because computer's system resources are too low where it doesn't matter whether Android should get run via emulator or via dual boot.
This is an android tablet, it don't use emulator or dual boot

This SoC features a Quad-Core Cortex-A7 ARM CPU, and a Mali400 MP2 GPU from ARM. That's good.
The problem in your case is the little available RAM.

Find a Custom Recovery suitable to tablet, if found find a Custom Android 6 ROM suitable to tablet. If both found, flash the Custom Recovery and if successful flash the Custom Android 6 ROM via Custom Recovery.
Con you help me find, I'm a newbie, I want Android 5, 6 or 7, any that you find.
