I was looking through root solutions through xda and saw the cubed low root method. However, he's also using the 810g version. Of any of you know if it have experience with the 10b version and rooting, please let me know. Thanks!

I rooted mine and I'm on b using the root injection method/low effort root. Just follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
that's what I did.

Just got an update... FYI
Me too, didn't install yet because my battery is too low.

Mine is asking me to update too. Any idea if I'll need to re-root? Not too big a deal but would like to know. Thanks!
You will need to re-root. I lost mine. The previous root I used doesn't work anymore.

How did you root the first time ?
Looks like the adb root method with Gingerbreak is not working with the update. Guess I'll stick with the Thunderbolt as daily driver until another root method comes down the pike.
Wonder if that's why the phone was delayed - to disable easy root.
I dunno, seems unlikely... this post suggests there have been significant performance improvements:
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2011/05/13/verizon-pushes-software-update-to-samsung-droid-charge-prior-to-launch/
I was rooted. lost it.
I picked mine up on the way from work and was setting it up when I got the OTA.
I had most everything removed that I wanted to, ran titanium and already set up my hosts file when I got the OTA pop-up. I ran it but I lost root and the method I used to root it now do not work. Has anyone found a new method to root the Charge?
Anyone care to dump the new build for me?
would if I could....need root back.

Been searching all day the method at android central didn't work and the only other methods that I am finding also won't work as super one click is getting to step 5 it says waiting for devices and then ceases to function or give root access if anyone could lend a hand it would be greatly appreciated!

Check this link and follow all the steps properly:
http://www.android.gs/how-to-root-lg-viper-4g/
So tried this and super one click just quits responding after killing adb. I've tried running as admin and running in compatibility mode but same thing keeps happening. I'm 16 hours deep trying to root this thing with absolutely no luck whatsoever.

My friend has the AT&T G2 and she received an OTA update to her phone on 2/13/14. I want to help her root her phone but I am not sure if the update she received will present any challenges. Can I still use the rooting methods that were already established before her phone received this update ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sub'd.
I was literally doing the exact same thing this afternoon too. My friends phone has the newest OTA and is on firmware D80010q.
I tried the normal methods to no avail. I was able to get Superuser on the phone, however, didn't have root access. From what I've been able to come up with we have to downgrade to D80010d in order to root it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50354625&postcount=2121
I also am looking for some confirmations on what I mentioned above. Thanks!

Yep that's true. From what I have read in this forum if you have q or o then you have to downgrade to d in order to root. At least that seems to be the proven way!

Thanks for the info guys. It seems my friend is on the q update also. I'll run this by her. Hey iksnoved25, if you happen to attempt this method before me let me know how it goes for you. Good luck to both of us.

Yeah its not my phone, its a girl who lives a few hours away. But if the rooting software isn't updated by the next time I see her (2 weeks or so), I'll most likely give it a shot. Post here or PM me and keep me updated on how it all goes. I found a youtube video that went through it and it doesn't seem that difficult.
Yea my friend isn't exactly close and she is likely to be deterred by any extra steps.
Does that video cover downgrading the software version back to d? If so post the link. If it's just a rooting a video I don't need it. I already rooted my Sprint G2.

Im currently running kitkat 4.4.4. on my ultra. I have searched and searched and can't seem to find a working root for my build on droid ultra. I am aware that there is a app called sunshine that unlocks your bootloader (for 25 bucks) but i have two questions regarding this. 1. when using sunshine does it erase all your data when unlocking the bootloader? 2. After unlocking the bootloader is there anyway i can get root on my phone? And if anyone knows of a way to root the ultra on 4.4.4 please feel free to tell me!
Thanks,

1. Sunshine did not erase data for me.
2. Follow this write up http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2645122 and install supersu through TWRP
Ok thanks for your reply. Sorry to bother you with one last question, so just making sure that sunshine won't take my data and it will work without problem on my droid ultra running Kitkat 4.4.4? And also after this I will be able to get root?

Sunshine doesn't work on 4.4.4 unless already rooted. Only 4.4.3 and below.

By all means, let the app check for you, but the failure rate is pretty consistent on 4.4.4.
I've searched, and don't seem to be able to find any step by step instructions to do the upgrade.
Current S-Off and Rooted, running nV Rom(apparently no longer supported)
Can you enlighten me?
Thanks, Evo

I miss read. I assume he wanted a stock rom.
If you got as far as S-OFF rooted and a custom ROM installed, I'm not sure why you would need help installing another? In any case I TOOK THE TIME TO READ THIS FOR YOU and found the install instructions are pretty detailed and tell you everything you need in order to install.

Good luck!

Thanks. I'm not unfamiliar with custom round, been doing it since my HTC Evo.
Just saw some conflicting info on going from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4, so I wanted to verify.
