So now that I have gotten a rooted & unrooted 10o system image and have flashed the unrooted 10i system image I no longer get a notification to update to 10o either through OTA or LG Bridge.
Is the update still available or was it pulled?

I'm on b and I don't get ANY update notifications!
I finally got the notification again to 10o the other day. Had to manually check but at least I got updated.
Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk
I received the update on 11/02
I didn't get a notification, however when I checked manually I then received the notification and proceeded to upgrade.

One thing i noted is that phone is much more snappy afterward. maybe it's because of the cache rebuild that every build do or maybe there is some secret ingredient added in this update.
Very surprised to see another update from AT&T for the G2. I wonder if there's any chance of seeing 5.1.1 or 6.0.
Does this mess with root?

You can't update with root, at least I haven't been able to.
When updating it will just kick you back to the home screen with a message telling you, you're suspected of rooting and updates are not supported for rooted devices.
I also tried the method discribed in http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/general/links-manually-forcing-ota-20c-to-20u-t2828874 to force an update but I was unable to succeed
I'm waiting for dlpkgfile to update
How does one make this file root friendly? Wouldn't mind taking the time to do this.

i think thats the answer for no 5.1.1 i dont see why leave g2 at lollipop if its has bugs.. since they fix the stagefright on 5.1.1. so we need it 5.1.1 to get rid of this bug but aparently with this update theres no need to update to 5.1.1 but does this still have the memory leak bug?

here is a link to the dlpkgfile from my LG G2, but if you have root you cannot update through either the normal OTA method or by using the root adb command method described in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/general/links-manually-forcing-ota-20c-to-20u-t2828874 or at least I could not get it to work

The last command appears to force a package on the phone to start the update process without (or possibly after) a check for root, however when I run the command the nothing appears to happen making me think that the original Lollipop update(30f) either nerfed the command to prevent this kind of thing from happening, or they replaced the package with a new one for the 5.x iterations of Android. so it is a matter of waiting for people smarter than me to find out how to force the updates in the Lollipop update
TL;DR: yup I agree with you
Is there no way to unroot, install this update and then root again?
Negative

As far as I know you can't unroot a device. The way I'm doing it is reinstalling the original KK, then going trough the process of updating till the lastest update then rooting again.
I do hope someone could come up with way to install the latest update on rooted.
That did come to my mind but I felt it's just too much of a pain going that far back for a patch!
Can you people provide me the "D80030F" lollipop OTA Package file... i can not download it from any where all links says file is deleted or not available

My LG G Flex 2 keeps downloading an OTA update. When I opt for installing it, the phone reboots, but I get an error with fallen robot on the screen. Then the phone boots normally.
But then downloads LS996ZV9 (?) via cellular network eating my traffic and I get the same problem.
Is there any way to switch to downloading OTA updates via Wi-Fi only? And how can I install the downloaded update? Is there any way to avoid downloading updates from unknown sources?
Are you rooted? Have you altered/frozen/deleted any system apps? If so, the OTA update will fail.

What version do you currently have? ZV8=?
Maybe your phone has some altered system files and thats why you cant update.
You should download the correspondant STOCK system image and flash it.
That way you can OTA update to ZV9 and that will make your problem stop.

I have ZV6. May be some files are altered indeed. Will try to factory reset the phone first.
Is the stock ROM available on lg or sprint websites?

No. Theres no rom anywhere. Do not factory reset first... If you do that you'll have to send it back to LG if the phone stays in bootloop or security boot error...
Anyones has figured this out, I'm on the same boat. Everytime I tried to update, an error occurs.
Yours probably came rooted from the seller. LS996 is Sprint variant. If you are not on Sprint network and your LS996 works with your network, that means your system files were already modified when you purchased the device. OTA updates wont work on rooted devices. If you really want to take the OTA updates, you will have to unroot first, by flashing stock system.img. You can download the ZV6 stock system.img here. You can flash it using this guide.
Just trying to somehow get nougat without rooting or anything. Firmware finder shows an OTA available for L09C636B593 but I can't get it to go into updater.
This is a good question because I'm in the same boat
same to you

About the only way I've seen so far, is to load twrp, screw around with other files, load a custom rom.
Until the rom shows up via the stock updater, or, the firmware finder app shows something that says
FULL and not OTA or FullOTA, you and the rest of us are stuck until Huawei officially releases it.
It's not that bad of a deal though, 6 for me anyway is VERY stable.
I agree it's stable but one of the reasons I bought a huawei phone was they are supposed to be the first to update to new versions and here I am still waiting. I thought Samsung was bad but guess what the s7 is already on android 7 and I'm not.
I think I'll be going back to Samsung soon as the note 8 comes out.

from L09C636b210 you can update via Firmware Finder to L09C636b521. Then go to System Update and you will see L09C636b563 update available. I recommend DOWNLOAD LATEST FULL PACKAGE from the pull down menu.
The update came for me, but not through firmware finder. Mine came through the built in update program
in the phone.
Mine was L29C185B180, then I got 321 through firmware finder, but it never would update. When I saw someone
post that 560 came through, I tried firmware finder, never had anything, but when I checked the Huawei update
app and it showed up.
I uninstalled the firmware finder app. Nice idea, but didn't work for me.
I have an ATT S8+. I sideloaded the August security patch but decided to flash stock ATT firmware using ODIN. Everything went smooth and ended on AQF7 which is the June Security Patch. However now my phone does not receive OTA updates anymore. No matter what I do I cannot receive them. Am I stuck manually sideloading them?
Thanks.

What G7 do you have?
G710EM
European model.
at least we get updates
+1
All European models (G710EM) should be updated to December update? Mine is on November update V10p-222-01 and no updates appears with OTA neither LG Bridge. Should I be worried? Maybe is better to install other ROM?

yep received it too in Germany.
I removed root via magisk app, after that i got a "no command" boot loop. (thought my unpatched image was gone, found it later (nooooo).
if anyone faces this problem, just hit the power button fast and several times, phone shuts down, push and hold volume up until u see download mode.
now obtain your kdz file i used the new full rom.
my version before flash v10p, after flash v10q.
important is to select upgrade @Lgflash, to keep your stuff.
phone reboots and upgrade will be done after boot!
Actually I put a warning in the Magisk tred about that.
U can't uninstall root with magisk.. It will always do that. U have to manually flash unpached
I have lg g6 tmobile version i have 1/1/2019 sec. Update !

Even Samsung manage to push every month a security update. This is sad.
I installed the G710EM10p_00_OPEN_EU_OP_1203.kdz (German region with November patch) but not I'm not receiving the OTA for the December patch update. If I manually install the G710EM10q_00_OPEN_EU_OP_1219.kdz with the LGUP tool can I mantain all the data/programs (like an OTA)?

If you do not receive ota it mean you flashed other region to you original firmware. You can update with LG UP as long you update with the same region (german for you). Any other region would wipe all data like factory reset.

I did this procedure with version 10p and also version 10q after that. I stopped receiving OTA and LG Bridge updates (Bridge tries to download them but fails to actually install them), so now I just update via LGUP whenever there is a new patch. All my data/apps are fine, no need to restore from backups. My guess is that since my phone was originally branded, my imei is still tied to that, so now I can't use automatic updates any more. Not a huge problem, the LGUP procedure is easy and fast.
