I have just downloaded the newest version of UAT v1.4.3
Installed to C: drive on my Windows Vista 32 bit Gateway. Opening UAT with admin rights only get me a quick flash of a black screen.
Any ideas what might be the problem. Thanks in advance.
Is there anything else that will need to be installed beside this install?
Edit added this error code
I was able to read an error on that black screen reading this below
""=="yes" was unexpected at this time.

Alright, since my google search returned the whole 2 (two!) relevant results, and the search here around 10 irrelevant, I thought I'd drop this on the community, in hope for some help.
I've upgraded my 64bit OpenSuSE to 11.2 the other day, downloaded the Android SDK, set up the environment variables, and fired up the "android" script that is supposed to download and install a platform, so I could access my device through adb shell.
Here I ran into a problem: Half of the buttons I click in the SDK updater don't seem to work, it will not save the settings, it will not remember the URL I type in (had to use http), and when it reads the http repo, it will not download and install what I have cheked! What happens is, I click the button, it appears to stick down for a while, then pops back up as if I never clicked it, and nothing happens.
My first question is, has anybody tried this on SuSE 11.2? I have had no problems on 11.1, for instance.
Second, does this need any "special" Java configuration to work properly? I have tried both the openJava (now built-in into SuSE), and Sun Java latest (SDK and JRE). I don't think so, but asking just in case...
I'm pretty much stuck. If anyone has this working, or better yet, if anyone knows where I could download platforms outside of the updater, please be so kind and share. Thank you!
P.S. Oh, and the optional third question: Is there a way to trigger the download from console? That would probably help to figure out what goes wrong...
EDIT: Not Java problem, but updater problem. It does not show any of the SDKs, it shows only APIs, which can only be added if a valid SDK exists.
Can anyone confirm this?
It seems I need an external link to SDK 1.6 for Linux (for example). Can't anyone share?
Thanks!
Still stuck...
EDIT2: Solved it, my adb works again. But the updater app is crap I installed the APIs, then shut it down, rebooted, then ran it again. Also, for some reason the buttons wouldn't respond to clicks, but if I click and then push Enter key, it works. Took me a while to figure this one out.
Hey, I'm getting ready to install Android SKD on openSUSE 11.2 from scratch. Could you list your steps and/or suggestions based on how you got it working? Thanks.
How did it go?? Sry, just saw this...
Don't have time to do the steps.. actually, everything works just as the standard procedure suggests, with the exception of button clicks - as I said, each time I clicked a button, I had to press the Enter key (as if the click was just giving it focus, but not the actual command)
Feel free to PM me (or any other user), especially if the thread is a bit old, like this one.

Hi, I'm trying to root my phone, get CWM3, and EXT4 using the One Click Root method, but I keep getting the error that my phone is not connected. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 so I can't Odin. I've also tried on a Windows computer and got the same result. I've searched around the forum and the web but to no avail. I can't post in the thread dedicated to the OneClickRoot because I don't have any posts. If anybody could help, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In windows you have to install the drivers (you should have it in the CD you got with the phone). If you use ubuntu use this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=921169
Hi all,
Tried to root bluestacks, latest install, yesterday, but it failed, couldn't get ADB to connect properly!
After uninstalling, cleaning up registry, rebooting, reinstalling bluestacks, it just hangs on loading screen, after starting Bluestacks!
Several reinstall attempts have been made, all to no avail, same thing: Bluestacks hangs, and won't even respond to ADB connection attempts!
Here's the BlueStacks.log: pastebin.com/gPkY9wLY
And the HyperVisor.log: pastebin.com/ebuYFE9K
Any help will be greatly appreciated, as i REALLY want to have Bluestacks running again WITHOUT having to reinstall WIN7-32bit all over again!
Thank You very much,
Gabriel Hansen

I think it will take some further informations to spot the problem, sorry.
When your device is connected to your pc, look into the control panel in the device manager. Is there some kind of Android device in the Section USB-Controllers? If so, please check out it Properties and provide some of the detailed Driver Informations (Driver filenames and versions) and Vendor-ID and Device-ID, please. If you think that's too much of a hassle, you are able to download the Android SDK and just install Google's USB-Drivers, they should work in almost all cases. I would paste you a link, but i can't yet, sorry.
M00K00, thanks for your time, but i think you may have misunderstood a little....
Bluestacks is an Android EMULATOR, it is a 'software-phone', hence it cannot and is not regarded as a regular device, AFAIK!
I think the problem might be something with the Registry! I've tried cleaning out the registry searching for Bluestacks related entries, but so far to no avail!
BTW, you can always post a link, just post link WITHOUT the 'http:/' in front
Thanks again!

Hi. I bought HTC One M8 for Windows mobile (T-Mobile US version) running WP 8.1 OS few days ago. Whenever I try to log into Microsoft account I get error code 0xFFFFFE70 saying 'We weren't able to activate your phone' with an advice to contact Microsoft support regarding error.
I have searched on-line for this error and have tried everything advised including correcting system date/time settings, soft/hard reset of phone, even reformatting the stock firmware with WDRT (Windows Device Recovery Tool) and also HTC custom tool. Nothing seems to resolve this error so far. Due to this I am unable to use windows store to download apps or log into my one drive on phone etc as each one of these requires Microsoft account login.
I was thinking maybe anyone can help me by providing me with latest windows 10 preview RUU for HTC M8 for windows (T-Mobile). If you installed it on your M8 via WDRT (Windows Device Recovery Tool) then you can copy it from C:\ProgramData\HTC\Packages\Products (default directory for WDRT). Maybe Windows 10 preview would solve my problem.

I have finally managed to resolve the issue via manually pushing update cabs (first 14203-14219 and then 14219-10586.11) via 'iutool' as described here.
In this case as I was unable to install and run Windows Insider app via MS Store or Sideload it (as it required MS account login) I went straight to pushing cabs via iutool without any prior modification via Windows Insider app as mentioned in thread and it worked. After that mobile got updated to 10585.164 build and now its working perfectly.
Hi Surgeon. I am having the same issue with the same variant of this phone. I'm pretty sure I get the jist of how to use the uitool, but I think I'm missing the step about using the Insider app to start the process as it's not installed on this phone. I have a few questions about how you did this:
1 - How did you sideload/install the Microsoft Insider app without being able to log into a Microsoft account?
2 - Coming from 8.10.14203.306, would I just install the 2 files ( 14203-14219 and then 14219-10586.11)?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

No need to install Insider app. Just run following commands (Modify depending on your system locations) via Command Prompt in Admin mode (Windows key + X > Command Prompt (Admin) )
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Phone Kits\8.1\Tools\bin\i386\
to check whether device connected or not
iutool -l
to transfer cabs (located in c:\cabs)
iutool -v -p c:\cabs
(Install cabs in 2 steps. First from 14203-14219 and let phone update complete. Then delete these cabs from c:\cabs and paste 14219-10586.11 cabs in c:\cabs and repeat same steps and let the phone update.)
Thanks a ton! I just got home from work and I'll try this in a bit.
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
I am able to transfer the files and the phone attempts to install, but then throws out an error saying it is unable to open the update.

When I downloaded the file from the link on the iutool page you referenced, it downloads as a .txt file. Does it matter if I'm sending that file as a .txt to the phone or does it have to be converted to a .cab?

Brother these text files contain download links for cab files. Open these links one by one or simply copy and download all together via free download manager (portable edition here)
Cab files downloaded from both text file links are about cumulatively 788mb (51 cab files of about 52.8 mb for 14203 to 14219 and then 47 cab files of about 735mb for 14219 to 10586.11 update.)
Thanks again for the help and clarification. I do though have another question about installing the .cabs. After the first 8 or so cabs I installed, the OS is updated to 14219.341. Am I able to skip the rest of the cabs in link 1 and start installing cabs from link 2? I ask because when I install the 13th cab from link 1, the phone reboots but instead of the white HTC Not For Resale screen, I get a black backlit screen and unable to even shut the phone down with the power button. I've had to reset it using RUU and start over from scratch.
Edit 5/7/2016: No need for reply. I was making this harder than it actually was. Once I stopped being dumb about it, I managed to get the phone fully updated and it's running perfectly now in Windows 10. Thanks for all your help in pointing me towards the solution.
Hello all,
I don't know where to post this problem. It's been 4 days I'm trying to install Android studio on my 12.04 linux box. I'm desparate with this. I must have loaded all web pages in the world on this problem so far and still not able to have this to work properly.
The errors I get is :
Unable to locate adb within SDK
Error running app: Unable to obtain debug bridge
My system is 32 bit and I reverted to the previous platform-tools.
If I do this:
[email protected]:~/android-sdk-linux/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools/platform-tools$ sudo adb devices
I get this:
List of devices attached
09630e71021fbc89 device
I really don't know what to do please someone help.
Marc.
