[Q] How to successfully install CWM Recovery onto Samsung Galaxy S4 (SCH-I545)

I successfully rooted my Verizon Galaxy S4. My root checker verifies this. However when I go to install CWM Recovery and I give it permission and everything and select boot into recovery it boots the phone into download mode. The same happens with TWRP recovery in GooManager. I am just stuck and not sure how to proceed. I have also tried flashing CWM Recovery via ODIN but that fails as well.

i think verizon locked the bootloader on their s4, i you might have to use the "Scary" Safestrap. but if a CWM image has been built already then there has to be a way to flash it, try snooping around zedomax's method http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s4/
You should do more research before you started. What your doing is a sure way for a brick. Only if your on mdk can you proceed as your doing. If your not you need to install safestrap.

[q] need help! Stuck on boot logo!! Sm-g920f

I rooted my phone (regular s6, not edge) via the pingpong root method and everything was going swimmingly. I installed the twrp app from the play store and went to try and make a backup but after executing the backup it wouldn't reboot, the phone was normal as if i hadn't pressed anything. I installed twrp recovery via the app and went to reboot so I could backup manually but when I went to do so my phone wouldn't boot up. It is stuck on the GALAXY S6 Powered by Android screen.
I have seen similar posts which say to flash stock recovery via oding and re-root. However I dont have access to a windows pc at the moment and am stuck trying (and failing) to use jodin on my mac. It basically just doesn't work. I followed every step and it will not flash cf-auto root, I checked I had the right version and everything but it refuses to do anything so I am up ****s creek as they say...
Any help would be appreciated

TWRP not installing on sm-n920p

Hello everyone. I have sm-n920p with latest nougat 7.0 stock. I want install TWRP. In developers options I switch on OEM unlock and USB debugging. Download latest twrp from official site. Starp phone in download mode and connect it to Odin. When Odin says PASS I reboot phone in recovery without starting OS. Phone start, than I see blue screen with white robot and it says "installing update" after that it start stock recovery. I try different version of twrp and odin. What I done wrong?
TWRP must be on the AP slot, and as soon as the screen turns off (like 2 seconds after you click start), get into the recovery.
Hello, I know this thread is old but I'm having a similar problem except my phone was rooted over a year ago. I wanted to flash XPOSED but it only has the stock recovery, I thought that I installed TWRP when I rooted my phone. I have SuperSU installed & Root Check says my phone has root. My question is can I just flash TWRP with Odin without losing root or having to reset phone & losing all my data? I have a Note 5 with Android 7.0 Bootloader #NRD920PVPS3DRH1, SuperSU eu.chainfire.supersu 2.82-SR3

Installing TWRP to Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018)

I have the phone mentioned in the subject. I followed this guide to install it. I don't have root yet, so obviously I followed the Odin Install method. The guide warns that after the first boot, the system will replace the new boot loader with the stock one, and this is exactly what happens. The guide says that I have to enter recovery mode and TWRP will fix this for me. However, I cannot enter recovery mode, because after finishing the download, the phone force-reboots, and I cannot even turn it off. The only thing I can do it is either let it boot and delete TWRP, or enter download mode again. How to solve this catch-22?
Actually, the first time I tried is to use Odin to install a patched system with Magisk, then install TWRP on the rooted phone. That works, but then I cannot update the system, because that requires Magisk to be installed from TWRP.

Root with Magisk plus TWRP difficulty.

There doesn't seem to be correct directions available on how to root and install TWRP. There are directions to install TWRP, there are directions to root with Magisk, but not both... at least that I can seem to find.
So I am having some difficulty figuring out how to root my Note 10+ 975F. I can get it to root following the instructions, firmware AP patch with Magisk, copy back to PC, flash with Odin. Hold power+vol up till 3rd splash and it boots right into rooted OS.
Then when I install TWRP (using official TWRP app) I cannot get back into rooted version. Magisk is always N/A no matter how many times I try the button combo.
I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong? Any ideas or links?
