Is there a program with which I could use my HD2 as an external display for my laptop. I don't mean remote control software.
Try SideWindow.
I know I used something else with my old Artemis, something free but I can't find it anymore. I remember installing the driver on my Vista x64 and having a really small second monitor in my control panel, I think it was based on VNC but it did work through wifi without active-Sync
Tried to install it, but without any luck on windows7...
This is the soft I used:
ZoneOS ZoneScreen for Windows Mobile
I tried again with my HD2, and, yep it works against an XP (using the 32-bit display driver), but can't see to load the driver on my vista x64, even disable the digital certificates.
I managed to get a second display on my XP box with a rel of 800x480 using a wifi connections.
Have a look at their wedsite, maybe they have some new driver for Vista/Win7

Code:
ATI Mobility Radeon X1350
HP Compaq 6820s
Windows 8 (x64) / Windows 8.1 (x64) / Windows 10 (x64)
In addition If you get "Windows has determined your drivers are up to date" you need to click the "Have disk" option when updating drivers.
Installed Windows 10 last night om my 6820s. Works well, advanced setting are unavailable but resolution is changeable (and automatically set to optimal values).
So, working in Windows 10 :good: Stability might be an issue, I have some issues with energy saving modes. Never had it again after the first 2 days, so all good.
With the arival and installation of the new build of Windows 10 (v 10586) the system is reinstalled. Keep in mind that unsigned drivers are not activated after the 'upgrade' process. Store the drivers in a save place and repeat the process in the op after the upgrade.
Installed ATI mobility Readon on my Compaq 6820s ..though its running on Windows 8.1.. But the problem is that when I shut it down ..and power it on again, the system begins to heat up quickly.. So I always herbanate it now so that it wont be heating up like that l..so how can I helped resolve this issue thanks.

I didn't have this problem. I had some thermal issues but these were solved by cleaning the system fan an applying new thermalpaste.
Hello,
I've just purchased a Cenovo Mini PC 2 (Atom Z8300 Cherry Trail 4/64 GB). Which runs fine, other that it overheats (temperatures up to 80 C, and then it hangs).
Anyone else with this particular model? I'm looking for a DIY solution for a better cooling.
Another issue that I'm having is being unable to enter the BIOS (any keyboard key at startup doesn't do a thing).
Update...I've stress tested the PC through the Aida64 System Stability test, which ran 4 hrs without freezing the system. Max temp was 85C but the system remained stable.
I did not suceed to reproduce sys freezing and will post further details.
Other than that I haven't been able to enter the BIOS. Also I didn't get the reply from the Cenovo support (a week passed from contacting them).
Update #2
It seems that the issue is the graphics driver. Updating to a newer version doesn't solve the problem. Manufacturer (Cenovo) should provide the updated drivers, but they don't have the customer support so...
Last update. Problem was with the Intel graphics driver. When the driver is removed, the PC works flawlessly. I'm now trying the various versions of Intel HD drivers. There is no drivers from the manufacturer though.
Hi for the latest hd drivers and not only that you have to install the Intel Driver Update Utility
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
and automatically will install all the latest drivers
for the bios that is odd usually with the delete or esc button you should enter the bios set up in my case thats how i do it in pipo x7 and by the way i am also waiting for mine cenovo mini pc 2 lets see how it will perform.
Hello, i had the overheating problems and i install one little fan on top, you can see on you tube if you search cenovo mini pc 2 problems.
I enter the bios pressing escape on boot
I have no sound after some updates of the drivers with SDI
Any idea how i can install windows 7 on this box?
Hello all,
I've used Intel Update Utility. Both drivers which the application displays as suited are not good - they cause random crashes. I always do a clean install, using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).
Also I can't find the audio driver - when the system initially came preinstalled it functioned. After reset of a Windows, audio does not work (for me not an issue since I have USB sound card much better than one installed).
I'm currently using this little thing without Intel GPU drivers and it is stable (running days without a problem), but without GPU acceleration (which also is not a big issue, because everything in 2d works just about the same, even 1080p Youtube and videos).
Confirmed - Esc on boot enters the BIOS - thanks.
Maybe, just maybe, high temperatures are cause of Intel GPU driver messing up the system?

Since the BIOS is accessible, one can try to use Win7 installation USB, and to try booting from that.
I suppose it is doable, but the issue would probably be the drivers.

Confirmed with esc button you enter the bios, good mod Νικο i will try with some thermal pads between the heatsink and the plate elevate the cenovo with some bottle caps and put a fan below and if i dont get any drops in temps then the alternative is to make the mod you make, i dont think you can install windows 7 it was a long talk since the pipo x7 but cannot be done due to uefi here is a link i ve found but use at your own risk http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...e-firmware-interface-install-windows-7-a.html
I do not recomended.

I dont think is the gpu driver its the space of the cenovo to compact no airways to get hot air out the same isuues short of had the pipo x7 but x7 was made from aluminium and with a little moding (heatsinks, thermal pads, and a fan to the side never passed 50c)
windows still crashes
Before the mod i try one Laptop Cooling Pad and i take some more minutes before windows crash. The air not flow properly because they make holes only in the bottom.
I also replace the thermal pad between the heatsink and the cpu with a little medal plague and thermal silicone. The temp now is 45-50 c but i still have some problems.
The box can play hd youtube videos for hours, but it freeze finally when nothing is running on windows.
I replace the power supply, and some vga drivers but the problem of freezing continue...

Try uninstalling and cleaning the display drivers with DDU - Display Driver Uninstaller.
Then use just generic Microsoft driver and test the unit.
I have exactly the same problem with Intel drivers....otherwise the mini pc runs stable and fine, no matter what you throw at it (albeit without GPU acceleration but I don't play 3D games on it its slow for that anyhow)
As for the mounting fan on it, I really wanted a silent PC and don't want to do that (there are other passive methods but one must disassemble case - don't want that either).
Fan
Thanks tarmiricmitarmiricmi i will try your way with drivers.
The fan i use, is 12 volts and i give only 5 volts from the usb plug (red +, black - ) and the fan is silent because run in slower speed because the volts.

I saw your video on Youtube - it is a good solution. However, there are other things that could be improved in order to improve air flow. Thermal pad could be replaced with this, and instead a aluminion/iron plate (that you took off), a copper one could be installed (copper is better insulating material than those two). I think that with those mods temperature would be lower 5-10 degrees C. But I do not want to invest a penny in the unit It is actually now running as my only PC and it suits my needs really good (for now - light use).
Problem with the GPU drivers uninstalling is Windows Update. When you uninstall Intel drivers and reboot the system, Windows Update will automatically locate drivers from the MS server, and download and install them (with the same problems - freezing again). Now, Windows Update in Win 10 can't be disabled / or some of the updates cannot be marked to be not downloaded as on a Win7/8 (MS really messed up Win10 update). They provided the fix which can do that.
Now, what you need to do is:
1. Download Display Driver Uninstaller,
2. Run it in Safe mode , remove the driver and reboot,
3. Download this
4. Start it, find the Windows Update Intel drivers and hide it,
5. Voila. Now you can use Mini PC 2 with generic MS drivers (without freezing) and without automatic updating of Intel GPU drivers (again).
Well did some testing my self 30 minutes youtube videos 1080p max temp 60c, then test a movie in kodi about 20 minutes playback max temp 53c no freezing in both tests only thing i did was as i said a themal pad between heatsink and the plate and also put a fan underneath the cenovo.

Update for the cenovo mini pc 2
I contact with the company who sell me the cenovo, they say try to reinstall windows from the recovery partition.
After the recovery, the cenovo still freeze if i do nothing for 2-3 min.
The windows ask for activation and don't activate with the serial of cenovo
I contact again with the company and they send me one crack on my mail to activate windows.
Before cenovo i use the Mini M8S TV Box Quad-core Amlogic S905 Android 5.1 2GB RAM 8GB ROM and i was very satisfied with the 1/3 of the money of cenovo...

The link is dead in step 3 so if anyone need it you can download it from here http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab
Even though i dont need it because my unit runs great hope that will help others.
I'm expecting to receive my own 4/64 unit in about three weeks. Thanks for all the operating knowledge database you're providing in this thread, guys.
I plan on using the box in addition to my current Mini M8S II (905X) box which is running excellently.
