Does the MOTO G 2nd gen support OTG USB support?
I think as long as the device has a mini usb port, it's gonna work ^^ I think every version of Android past I think 3.1 will be fine with usb keyboards and mice. Usb drives/External Harddisks however may need a bit more work to mount and get working!

Hi all..
Since we already have some great stuff happenin on our XT, was curious to find out if anyone has any info on USB Host functionality for our phone? Any kernels/ patches available to enable it?

possible usb host
If the XT720 follows Moto's pattern of recent phones it already has usb host, it just cannot power the accessory itself. There is a post in the Atrix forum on how to mod a usb hub to supply power to all the hub ports. With that modded hub plugged into a OTG adapter keyboard & mouse work PNP. USB drive need to be mounted manually to be read. Thread starts here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=997187
I am not aware that this has been tried on the XT720 but would not be surprised if it worked.

usb host possible, but you need otg usb cable.
(if you buy it and it won't work - then i will create fastboot kernel that will work)
FJ, can I simply use the OTG cable available for the Atrix??

i have a..well..a cheap usb controller..Chinese..its some qmpl company..if i could buy an original xbox controller i wouldn't be on moto g. anyways the controller works fine on PC. otg on my moto g works fine with pen drives. just couldn't get the controller to work. is there anything i can do to make it work.
does moto g suppoerts usb otg?
Yes! I have one and I already tested with a pen drive, mouse and keyboard and worked fine.
Basically, a little Dissapointed
Brand new A5 (running android 6.0.1) not recognizing XBOX 360 wired USB controller.
Found out the included USB 3.0 to standard USB adapter is only for charging and not an actual USB OTG adapter.
SO I bought a USB 3.0 OTG adapter and it seems to be working as I can browse a flash drive connected to it etc.
However when I connect The xbox controller nothing happens, the circle on the controller just blinks and the phone just says charging via usb.
Dissapointing as my old Moto X (1st gen) recognizes the controller fine using mocro usb OTG adapter.
What is wrong here, do I need an app or to enable something in settings?
Thanks everyone!
