Custom persistent bootscreen - General Questions and Answers

I've seen a few custom ROM's with bootscreens which are sort of persistent. What i mean is that they tend to stay even after flashing a new custom ROM.
The bootscreen is not in an rle file. I would like to create and customise my own ROM so i'm wondering how this is done.. Any idea anyone?

POST/BIOS logo from cooked rom, can't remove

Hi Guys, sorry if this has been asked before, but I installed the energyrom (i think) a while back, sine then I've moved on to newer and better roms, but that rom left a white sword every time I boot the phone, is there any way I can get rid of this? - since installing a new rom, doesn't affect the pre-boot logo...
Thanks in advance!
You need to flash a new splash screen. Search your rom forum, I'm sure there's a thread or two with a collection to choose from. Some chefs include a splash with their rom, others don't.
Thanks so much! - I was beginning to worry, searching now.

Black Notification bar with stock rom

Hi, i was wondering if this was possible? Im new to the nexus one, and havent flashed on android for a long while, so im not really interested in flashing a rom yet, but im super tired of the white bar at the top. is there a way to change that without flashing?
I had wondered this before, the short version is that the stock rom is odex'ed, meaning you can change the bar to black, but the text will also be black.
ROMs are still the name of the game though, I use MCR 2.0, it's very close to stock (except rooted, himem/undervolted kernel, and a few other goodies). I'd never go back honestly.

not sure where you got that info from, but if you are on a stock ROM, you cant change the bar or much else for that matter without a home replacement app.
no root access=no abilities to root files.
to the OP if you are using the stock rom and have root access, yes you can do what you want to do, either with metamorph or by flashing an update.zip
in either case make sure you find the one you want, nandroid, and do what you gotta do. if you dont like it, revert to nandroid. there are a few black bar themes and other things of the like here.

I think he is saying that he has an unlocked bootloader and root access on a stock rom, and doesn't feel like flashing a custom rom yet, so no, he cannot get white text in the status bar for the clock and date on a more recent stock rom without first de-odex-ing /system/framework.

[Q] UOT Kitchen with PureAOSPTheory

I am interested in making my own theme with UOT Kitchen for the ROM I am currently using, PureAOSPtheory. I tried building a theme, and used a rom listed in the kitchen, the Cyanogen 7 one. Is there perhaps a better setup for this? When I tried flashing it, I got stuck in a bootimg loop.
Thanks.

[Q] Need help tinkering with Rogers Stock Rom

Hey All, I am rather adverse to running custom roms and kernels on my Skyrocket for stability reasons and was trying to figure out a couple of things:
1. Debranding/ removing the Rogers splash screen, There was a thread about overwriting the files in /system/media , but the impression I got was that I couldn't do that in stock.
2. CRT off animation,I was trying to do this manually but it doesn't seem to work properly, always have errors decompiling framework-res.apk, does the rom have to deodexed, should I decompile with dependencies or both?
Thanks
Uhhh, devs any help here?
flash tpc v3 with stock kernel, problem solved
