Remove the “Change keyboard” button in lollipop - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone
I constantly hit with my palm the button while I am writing, the one at in lower right. Is there any way to remove it or change the position?

Cataclysm rom has the option to remove it. No idea if others do also

Why do you think you should be able to?
That feature is not a part of Android

Just wait for the custom roms to start dropping. You will see that feature soon.

Sorry about that. Like I said, I'm tired and not thinking straight. I thought the shortcuts came with Android. Didn't know those were mods

The N5 has a virtual SDCard for your data located out at /sdcard/emulated/0/ Place the .nomedia file there.

After some testing. I see that the audioIn wakelock only goes up when I am at the home screen. It doesn't go up when the phone is locked.
I conclude that it's the process that listens for the Ok Google command when in the Google experience launcher

Makes sense to me. I'll check mine out at some point.

I'm getting this too. Seems to be related to Tasker - when I go into Tasker I'm getting a low memory warning.

[Q] Should i close all apps or allow it to run in background ?

I wonder that should i allow apps to run in background (press Home button) or close all apps (Multitask button and swipe them all to close) before turn off the screen ? Which is better for battery life ? I thought to close them all will take more battery to reopen it. Anyone help me plz ?
Just leave em be

Dont think about it.
Leave it running if you're going to use it again, close it if you're not.

(REQ) LG Knock Code on Nexus 5

Hi
Is there any way to get the LG knock code feature on our Nexus 5. I currently have knock code on the N5 but it requires the screen to be on.
Is there any to have knock code while the display is turned off ?
Thanks in advance

I pretty sure we will need a kernel with this feature not only mod but maybe I am wrong ...

1. There's an Xposed module for it but only the screen on lockscreen
2. Digitizer is controlled by kernel
3. Hardware limitation on the Nexus 5 means it'll drain a lot of battery as far as we know

[Q] Continuous reboot sequence

Hi,
Having a small nightmare; was using my phone, screen goes off & reboots automatically, happened a few times, nothing major.
This time, the screen only comes on briefly enough to see the unlocked padlock then goes off & starts again, its the same in fastboot & recovery so I can't do a complete reset. I get 1 or 2 seconds in & it resets automatically after a few occasions it will just stop, when on power, it just constantly resets & doesn't stop at all.
Background info, its running stock 5.01 rooted with xposed/gravity box.
I fear its done... any ideas
Could be the power button. I've read many people have problems with it

and because I'm unlocked/rooted & its over 13 months old, chances of an RMA are 0% I guess?
