Currently on the gs4, able to browse the web while on a call with no issue while not connected to wifi. Is the s6 still able to do this without VOLTE?

Tethering, Voice, and SMS questions

Hello everyone,
Is it possible to get some sort of notification that someone is trying to call while my Fuze is tethered on a non-3G network? For example, if someone tries calling, a program on the phone detects the call and notifies the user. Or, what kind of data can be sent while the phone is tethered on a non-3G network? Just SMS? Finally, I have read that as long as data is not actively being exchanged the phone will work.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
" tethered on a non-3G network?"
problem is that ever since gprs was invented it haven't
blocked for callers to be received thats why it was invented
apart from it's speed inc over normal gsm data modem
however if ones operator use old technology in their centrals
one get the problem you experience where data block calls
the issue being isolated to your isp rather then your phone
there really is no way for you to get an notification by the phone
as the phone never get any info from the central
personally gprs data never blocked a call or sms for me

I'm on AT&T so all my answer will be as I know on this network.
1) It will ring, hope that is notification enough.
2)All data, it is just like being online on a dial-up connection but a bit faster.
3) Phone works, HOWEVER, if it is not on 3g any calls will interupt the data flow. Meaning if you recieve a call it will disconnect your data connection. Voice overrides the data.
Ok, thanks for the information! I am on AT&T as well with the Fuze and mostly work on the Edge network. I noticed while doing some trial and error that the phone would ring or receive SMS only when data was not actively being transferred. That is why I was wondering if they made or program, or some notification system that would alert an incoming call or text.

[Q] Making Calls w/ WiFi

So where I reside I am limited to one bar of connectivity that fades in and out. Because I have a wireless router in my room, I am looking/asking to see if there's an application or a way that can solve my problem by making mobile to mobile calls normally without having to be dependent on skype calls, gtalk calls etc. I researched and tried using this technique that involved gizmo5 and google voice, however, google ended buying gizmo5 and has thus put an end to this method. Your help will be MUCH appreciated! My phone is an HTC EVO(2.2)
You can use Tango or Skype...are you looking for a free solution?

[Q] [REQUEST] VoLTE Capability Please?

EDIT: After updating the Google Hangouts app, LTE remains on through sprint when using Hangouts Dialer. It used to auto-disconnect. Thanks anyways
To all the extraordinary devs out there who want a new challenge:
Can we figure out a way keep LTE on while placing VOIP calls through Google Hangouts / Google Voice?
LTE these days has a fairly robust deployment and Google Hangouts' bugs have largely been squashed, even for people like me on the Sprint Network.
One of the things that made me scratch my head regarding the Google Hangouts dialer is the fact that you can't use LTE as your internet protocol -- the dialer simply shuts down LTE as an option to use. I don't think this was even the case while I was using Skype on my rinky-dink Galaxy S. This 'feature' is likely because most carriers incur charges for any use of excess data, and this feature would likely cause bills to skyrocket if the AT&Ts and Verizons of the world had their way.
I have Sprint, though. I suck down data through an (possibly throttled, but nonetheless) unlimited straw. It seems so superficial to me to be forced to use voice minutes anymore (and texts as well after being on Google Voice for so long).
first the n5 is not volte capable. secondly, i use the hangouts dialer only on lte, via tmibile.
Thanks for replying -- I decided to try again today after it not working a couple days ago and suddenly, hangouts dialer gives me all the data I want.

AT&T and calls over WiFi

It's my understanding after reviewing the thread that wifi calling or native WiFi calling is not possible with AT& T and this device??
Can any other AT & T users please comment on workarounds that you have found?.
I understand that you can use Skype or Hangouts dialer to make calls over WiFi if you're out of cellular service but the problem seems to be what happens when you get incoming calls or if you need calls to go to voicemail. What's your setup?
I currently have an AT & T branded device Samsung and I have native WiFi calling but I hate that I don't have any options for custom roms Etc.
Just trying to make some decisions. Thanks
You are correct. With root you can enable VoLTE with a magisk module. But it's well documented and I can personally testify, that unless a device had at&t firmware or is an iPhone you will not get VoWiFi.. it's the dumbest thing every and I wish the FCC would somehow punish at&t for it... But so goes it.. hit em where it hurts and switch to T-Mobile. No issues there.
Hangouts
If you use Hangouts calls coming in will go to voicemail. You get an email to the acct associated with your google#. Then download the voice file in the email and play. I use wifi calls a lot cause I'm on the T-Mobile 100 minute, 5 gig $30. Plan. Wife's on it also:good:

Question Connected remotely but calls not forwarding to the watch

I have purchased eSIM data plan with DENT eSIM because my carrier does not have option to use on my galaxy watch.
Now I get all notification etc on my watch normally but calls are not forwarded... Is there any way to achieve this?
Thank you
Configure just normal call forwarding from your main phone number to the secondary. And you should have calls enabled on your eSim, not only internet.
Well I only have data plan on my watch so I am looking for solution that calls are forwarded via mobile data. And when I call from the watch the call should be going bia mobile data to the phone which would then make a call.
Thank you any help appreciated
I don't think this is possible at all. Only through Bluetooth, or on highly customized smartphone ROM (like Samsung is using on their phones to achieve such functionality over Wi-Fi). And for sure - no - on any stock ROM.
Bluetooth-WiFi watch versions with non-Samsung phone, Remote Connection also work with WiFi.
