Galaxy S6 128GB availability? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm one of the people who are disappointed by the lack of SD card slot in the design of the s6 / Edge. Because I store a lot of photos, videos, music tracks in my phone, I currently use around 100GB in total in my LG G3 (32GB + 64GB card) so I'd like to order the s6 128GB (and NO the cloud is not a solution).
Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, it's not available anywhere yet, and there are worrying reports of no availability before May or June for it...
Please use this thread to post all relevant details or rumors, or links to offers to get the 128GB. I live in Europe so obviously am more interested in getting it here, but I think any detail anywhere in the world would be useful.
I personally pre-ordered it from Amazon.de, but they removed the estimated delivery date and apparently don't plan to update it anytime soon.
Thanks.

In the UK from various sources, Samsung store, Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone, 02, EE 3 I am told 1st-2nd week of May earliest.

Did you get any response from Samsung directly?

If you pre-ordered from AT&T, here's what you need to know.

Hey guys, AT&T employee here. The other thread ran on so long that I thought I'd share what I've found out from my higher ups.
Preorders will start shipping the 23rd, however the S4s are officially on back order, at least in my market (Georgia-Carolinas). This is why it is showing the 30th as that is what at&t has predicted to be a worst case scenario.
Preordering is on a first come first serve basis, HOWEVER this basis is market dependent, meaning that someone from another market may have ordered after you may get it before you. Markets range in size and availability greatly. For instance, my market encompasses North and South Carolina along with Georgia, whilst there are markets for areas as a small as Dallas Texas. I have no way of checking to see if other markets are on backorder.
Since the phone will release in stores the 26th, though some stores with back orders may not have them until later, I do not recommend canceling your preorder to get one in store. Most stores will receive small initial shipments that will run out quickly (all of our stores locally have ran out of HTC ones, so I can only imagine how the s4 will sell). So I do not recommend canceling your preorder to get one in store potentially earlier unless you can wait at opening for the store to open that has confirmed it will have phones available on that day. Pre-orders will be fulfilled before store needs, so know that you will be taken care of before customers that haven't.
If you have any questions let me know!
mine always said it would ship on april 30th. i expect to have it by early may as i paid for overnight. since your an employee i have a question. how come at&t gave the pricing for the 32gb models but they have no idea when they will release them?

We aren't sure if the 32 gig models will be available at launch and we aren't sure why the higher ups did that.
HOWEVER, if the 32 gig is available at launch and you pre-ordered the 16 gig version, you CAN take your un-opened phone package and swap it out for a 32 gig and just pay the difference in price. Just make sure you do not open the box to even look at the phone and that you go to a corporate store, not a 3rd party retailer.

As far as my information goes from multiple managers, the phone launches in STORES the 26th. It would ship the 23rd because at&t uses multiple carriers (UPS, Fedex amongst one or two others) to ship. Even with free shipping, it takes an average of 3 business days to reach you amongst those carriers.
However, due to backorder concerns, they are listing the 30th as a worst case scenario. We are getting overwhelmed with preorders for the phone. I myself have preordered it.

Based on my previous experience with ATT online orders, all phones came in with their boxes open and seals broken; sim cards removed from the holders and placed in the sim slot. I was told that warehouse technician usually check the phone before shipping out.
I guess since you are an employee, you have no need to order online but buy from store inventory.
We never buy from store inventory. It's bad salesmanship as with the way our commission works, any changes on the account like equipment changes from insurance claims in the first 6 months can result in what are called "charge backs", or lost commission and a slap on the wrist from your store manager. Also, unless you're getting an iphone, the sim card shouldn't be already in the phone 0_o..
Guess ill be waiting in front of my local ATT store.. not taking a chance at pre-ordering online to be backorderd
Make sure they'll have it, otherwise that'd be a dumb move.
Any idea what it means when I check my order status online and all it says is "processing" with no expected ship date? I ordered the day after pre orders started. Thanks in advance!

Hm. Iphones ship to us in store with the sims already in the phone. That's why you see any number on there starting with 8901...
Main reason why I say they shouldn't open the box is because that instantly creates an at&t restocking fee of 35$. Box unopened = no restocking fee.
On my order form the sim card and the galaxy s4 are separate. Same for anyone else?

[Q] Samsung Perks Wifi v. (Verizon) LTE model

I have seen some mention in a couple threads here, but nothing definitive. Is there any difference in the Samsung Perks offered for the Wifi versus LTE (specifically Verizon) models? Can anyone who has received the Verizon model chime in with their experience with what perks are offered, or even a shot of the protective screen film that lists them off?
Much obliged.

And now I feel foolish, because though I read the asterisk'd text, I completely missed the link to the full terms. Sigh. Thank you.
I wonder, why do they do this? Why can't you get the same Perks on the Note12.2 no matter if you've bought it at Verizon or the WiFi version? Luckily, I got the years subscription to Evernote using my Note3...which is odd, because that's also on Verizon.
Though I suggest everyone read through the full terms and conditions (because knowledge), the perks that aren't available to the Verizon variant are Dropbox space, 1 year Evernote, and RemotePC. I wonder as well why these three aren't offered to Verizon customers. I would say that it's because VZW offers competing services, but aside from dropbox that isn't true. I could also guess that perhaps there were network/data concerns with Dropbox/RemotePC, but that doesn't really follow for Evernote.
Probably just stupid Licensing/Contract stuff behind the scenes that have changed since the Note 3 came out.
What is really aggravating is you are paying more for the same product but getting less. It'd stand to say that the services you're missing out on are worth about $100 but you're paying $100 more for the LTE version so they're making some $200 off of those of us that simply want mobility... Where's the offer for $50 in play credit? I didn't see that anywhere when I was setting it up. Or am I mistaken?
Thanks guys!

There's only a $25 Play Credit advertised and I got that within an hour of registering the device. I DID get a $50 Credit with my Note3 so I have a $75 Samsung Play Store Credit Balance right now. You have to register your device with Samsung to get most of these "perks".

Why do you need an invite?

I found the phone all day long on Aliexpress. The phone is made in China anyway, so why wait for an invite when you can just do a search like I did? If they had an external sd card slot I'd be all over one of these!
http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?SearchText=Original+Oneplus+One&catId=&initiative_id=
The only reasons to wait for a invite (or obtain one online) is because,
1. International version is cheaper ~$364 USD for 64GB vs. $400+ USD.
2. Faster shipping since International version is not shipped from China.
3. Has bands that will work with TMobile/AT&T 4G LTE; whereas, the Chinese version does not work with TMobile/AT&T 4G LTE (can be unlocked via http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unlock-aditional-bands-qualcomm-t2877031 ) but still requires effort.
4. Warranty purposes.
5. External sd slot really a necessity? Its nice to have but not a deal breaker as the phone has 64GB internal storage (~54GB useble)
6. International version is shipped with CM11S; whereas, Chinese OPO is shipped with ColorOS (or OPO's AOSP ROM). You can change it to CM11S which is easy but any average user wouldn't feel as comfortable switching to CM11S channel.

I don't know about that?
Original OnePlus One oneplus_one 4G LTE phone Android 4.3 13MP Snapdragon 801 2.5Ghz 3GB RAM 16GB 64GB NFC 3100mAh Cell Phone

So, it does do AT&T and 3g/4g and LTE.
And there is a 1 year warranty.
Now, for me after using iPhones in the past. I absolutely require having an sd card. I store all my photos, music and backups on it along with roms and gapps packages.
Operating System CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4 Depends on seller you need to read the listings just like you do here. If you don't take the time to ask questions beforehand and end up with a headache then its the buyers fault for not doing due diligence.
Oh, and lastly you don't have to beg or wait for an invite. Which I think is total horse excrement.

It does not do AT&T 4G LTE on the Chinese version. You can unlock them via the link above.
Warranty is for the Chinese region, not for anywhere else. Even if warranty is provided by Aliexpress, it is not fulfilled by OnePlus themselves.
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/5-reasons-to-not-buy-the-oneplus-one-from-scalpers.35689/
1. You won’t have warranty. If your phone was intended to be used in the Chinese market, you still have a one-year warranty, but only in China. Only the global versions are covered by the international warranty. Your attempt to communicate with scalpers could be ignored, and even if they do agree to take back your phone, you’ll face significant delays due to shipping and customs.
2. Incompatible LTE bands outside of China. The Chinese version of the One is prepared to work on China Mobile, which uses TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE technology that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. Additionally, the Chinese version lacks WCDMA band 4 and LTE bands 4 and 17. So depending on your carrier, connectivity will be limited.
3. Risk of bricking your phone. While you can install CynanogenMod yourself, flashing through fastboot mode is not for everyone and requires installing specific software and writing code in your command terminal. If you brick your Chinese One, please refer to point 1.
4. You pay more. The scalpers charge a higher price outright. Including shipping and customs duties, expect the price to exceed $400. This goes against our philosophy of creating an amazing product with a price that can disrupt. Help us create an efficient market by not rewarding the scalpers.
5. Miss out on the OnePlus experience. Since the beginning, our goal was to fuse superior product with unparalleled customer experience. By buying from a scalper, you are missing out on dedicated services available only for OnePlus Global users.

Buying the OnePlus from OnePlus directly is cheaper than buying it from Aliexpress.
The phone has 64GB internal storage for ~$364. Not buying the OPO because it doesn't have a sd card.......
It has 64GB internal storage. What are you storing on your phone? Yeah it'd be nice to have a sdcard slot, but if it doesn't then its not a deal breaker with 64GB internal storage.

After losing ask kinds of pics and docs with the iPhone I switched to the s3. Having the ability to preserve important pics and docs is important. I had a note 1 that I lost a bunch of stuff on because I didn't have an SD card. And for my final reason, I used to run cm on my phone and I think I just outgrew it. The other roms available have more to offer. So, come next month I'll renew with att again and get the s5 for 99 dollars. Then I can root and rom and have an SD card.

If you live in China or Chinese based cities like Hong Kong, you can get the OPO from Taobao. No one uses Aliexpress in China because Aliexpress is the Chinese market catered to the Western market, hence if you buy from Aliexpress you get ripped off.
http://s.taobao.com/search?q=oneplus&app=detailproduct
Depending what you choose, you can get it way cheaper than Aliexpress or even OnePlus.net. But yes, buying directly from OnePlus is safer and is a fixed price.

You should use cloud backup services like Dropbox, Google+ or Facebook. I use all three to keep my photos safe just in case.

Well that's just a matter of making sure your stuff is backed up. Backing up an OPO is no harder than backing up an sd card (which is also necessary). Your point about CM and ROMs is moot too, it's ridiculously easy to unlock/root this device and run whatever ROM you want to run. Sorry if this seems harsh but none of what you're saying is making any sense.

Dont forget that if you will be hit with VAT and import charges on the device, not sure what the US charges are like but for UK it would cost an extra 20% on the total price and + £10 handling and possible extra taxes which makes it extremely expensive!
I havent begged for an invite, just sat and waited now I have an invite and my opo will be shipping soon .
If you need the SD card slot so you can permanently store precious photos on your device I think you have the wrong idea of keeping photos safe! Please use a backup service like Google+ photos, this would save your photos (automatic backups) so you will never run out of space as you can keep it on the cloud .
With dropbox installed you can automatically upload photos taken to ur dropbox account. Once set up, no further user interaction is required. 64gb and SD card slot! Not a problem.

Looks like the Gear VR is being packaged with the S8/+ and with the controller in the US and Canada but as usual no whiff of the same offer here in the UK!
I can't however even see it as available in the accessories section of the UK website. Is this due to be launched later over here?
UPDATE just had a chat with the help desk at samsung (for what its worth) and there is no news for UK customers as yet and the previous VR devices won't work with the S8's

That's a bit rubbish. I've preordered directly from Samsung as I did with my note 7. I still have the gear vr from that but will be annoyed if it won't work. I've seen that in the US they can pay $99 for a 256gb SD card too!
I noticed other countries giving freebies with the phone and yet Samsung UK again screw us. Carphone warehouse has the Samsung speaker giveaway. I tweeted them about the freebies other countries get....yet to reply back still.
Samsung Uk just don't give a crap about its customer loyalty after all the returning my Dubai Note 7 mess that took 2 months for them even to acknowledge they have to take back the non Uk version.
I swear we pay higher price and get lesser than abroad! I really hope they offer something in the coming weeks for the pre-orders but I doubt it. Get on social media and complain. More of us more they have to respond.

Anyone receive their 512GB Micro SD Card from Samsung?

Did they ship it with the phone or separate?
You order it after you bought the phone.

To receive the card, you're supposed to open the Samsung Members app on your new phone and click the offer banner once it shows up (often takes up to three days). You should have been informed about this when you purchased your phone.
Do you have to buy from Samsung to get it?

What is the Samsung Members app?
I'm just wondering if anyone received it from Samsung yet?
I'm totally lost. Is this a new deal? Is it free? Can't seem to find an answer by Googling it.
Same here can't find any info on the offer
The offer could be for specific market area. For example, here the small print says "in effect in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark (Nordic Approved)". Each market area could have their own lures, depending on the market/sales situation, etc.
AFAIK, that "Samsung Members" app does about the same as "Samsung+" app (the latter is only for US). A good example about how a "global" company does not really understand what "global" means for customers.

This was a couple of weeks ago. Samsung was selling the 512GB card for $49.00 with the purchase of a new Note 9. A week later they were giving the 512GB card for free with the purchase of the Note 9.
I believe these deals are dead now. Seen a couple of people saying they receive a pack of 10 of the 512GB cards when they received their card from this promo.
Just wanted to hear from people that actually received the card from Samsung.

Over here the campaign continues to the end of the year. But, I can't give feedback on receiving a card, as I bought my phone one month before the campaign even started (tough luck for me).

The American one was a few weeks ago and I believe it's history now.
That one guy that says he received 10 of them from Samsung might be legit. I heard to same thing from another seller on eBay saying he also received 10 when he ordered the promo from Samsung with the phone.
I got one but had to pay through the nose for it.

I just wrote to guy at tweeter that is PR from Samsung about this promo in Poland, i would gladly buy 512 GB card just to spare memory of phone and for storage more loseless music but 512GB card is very expensive, as was phone So - fingers crossed for this action. Maybe with little bit of luck - here in Poland - i can also get one card for free?
//edit:
PR from Samsung told me at tweeter that he dont know at what prices and conditions phones was sold at Finland or Norway so he cant tell why in Poland there was no such promotion. So as far as i know this is just very polite way to say "fk you" to all customers who pay sht load amount of cash for their phone. I bought mine (512GB version) in promotion for about $1150 / 1k EUR and this is a lot. I dont know what what they are thinking but im really disappointed. Normally 512GB version now you can buy from Samsung store for 1 256 euro or $1 437. Well...

Typical normal customer prices have been around 1030€ (128GB) and 1300€ (512GB), with pretty much no normal/significant discount campaigns so far; most campaigns have been offering something additional instead of price reduction.
The conditions for getting that campaign are (out of memory) about having to be bought during the campaign, in Nordic countries (and probably also taken into use in those countries), create/have a Samsung account, using the Samsung Members app (i.e. one has to register that account on the phone, too), and can not be combined with other campaigns/discounts.
As I mentioned earlier, the campaigns are likely "market" specific (just like the prices and models are), and are made up and run by Samsung as they see fit in each area. E.g. if they had too much stock of NEE model, put up a nordic campaign for a month, problem solved. Or something like that.
