Viper4Android on Rooted S6? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone installed Viper4android yet on the S6? Curious how it's running, from a music fan perspective, it makes a big difference with good headphones on.
Thanks

Reason why I use Stock Android or MIUI

Ok guys I really need your help for this one, I'm a big fan of sense, just because of the camera and when it snows it shows the little snowflakes on the screen :3 along with the useful features it provides. The thing that kills me a little on the inside is the equalizer built in all the sense ROM's. They all suck, therefore I am in love with MIUI right now because of their built in equalizer and all the eye candy it provides. The background to this was that I bought a pair of over the ear headphones from best buy for like 20 dollars and they looked awesome but were silent, I used an equalizer to enhance the sound and suddenly fell in love with the very pair of headphones that I am currently using (highly recommend you buying it if you toy with equalizers). I've tried everything in the market and nothing has satisfied my audiophilific ears. I.E.: PowerAmp, other Android equalizers, etc. Mainly with the way they work. I was wondering if you could participate in what equalizers you use (if you do).
I liked the DSP Equalizer that came with CM7. I'm surprised you didn't like the equalizer that comes with PowerAMP. That one is pretty robust with a lot of presets. Have you tried moving the preamp knob? It's the leftmost one.
Other than that, I would recommend you check out the headphones thread somewhere in the accessories section, to see what you should get next after you feel like you need to "step up" in your headphones game.
I don't like PowerAmp just because it annoys me, when you plug in your headphones it plays music by itself and other stuff that I forget. As for headphones, I bought a pair of SR80i's and I love them but I never bring it to the gym or anywhere else because I don't want to break them. As for DSP. I love it too and is the reason why I like CM7/AOSP.

Stuff like that can be turned off from the Settings menu, you know.
I can't say that I'm a big fan of sense (which is why I went with cm7), but how much of a difference will the equalizer make?
You could potentially amplify the sound of your headphones by x2.35% which in my case is equal to more slightly expensive headphones.

3.5mm jack audio performance

Just got the S5 yesterday coming from S4. I had been listening to music on the S4 in my car via headphone jack day before getting the S5. Hooked up the S5 in my car and seems to be noticeably better. More bass and clarity. Is this my imagination or is there any truth to this? Can anyone else coming from S4 chime in and let me know your findings? I was on modified stock rom with Viper FX enabled on my S4 so maybe this has something to do with it. Just don't remember the S4 sounding as good.

Maybe mind over matter... If anything it was just the same.

Volume Limited on the S6 for music?

So I've noticed so far that after playing music on the S6, while it sounds great... it seems the equalizer and the volume itself is... limited as opposed to my old Galaxy S3.
I'm curious to know if this is a Lolipop issue or the Galaxy S6 having a governor on it.
My S3's volume is way louder and gives more punch, while the S6 is softer and not as filling.
Any possible way to get around this?
I have the same thing,,, I can hear others when listening to music,,,kinda defeats the purpose of listening to music LOL.

Viper4Android on the S6????

Soooo......Coming from the M7, I was used to the good sounding speakers. I see that people are installing Viper4Android so I thought I would also. Now that I have it installed, I don't notice any difference. Is there a difference from the phones speaker? Or is it only through headphones? Maybe I am doing something wrong, though it seems pretty strait forward. Any help would help! Thanks!

Best rom for audio?

Im currently using cos 13.1 and it has really ****ty audio from headphones. Even my old nexus 4 beats the crap out of it.
Any rom that has better audio or is it the phone itself?
I'm in the same boat as you. OPO don't seem to have a good DAC anyways, and the COS 13.1 really does not help with the audio either. If I can't find a good ROM, I'll most likely get an external DAC, like the Fiio Q1 or something. Anyways, very interested in seeing what the community has to say on this.
Tugapower sounds pretty great. It comes with ViPER4Android which gives a pretty good output after some tweaks.

I just noticed that clean flashing my cos was the fix. I think it was Viper4audio that muffled all the detail.
Now it's way better. Not perfect, but way better.
To expand on Viper4Android;
I recently installed V4A and I don't think I can ever go back. The sound quality is just amazing and it makes my $70 Sony headphones feel like a pair of Sennheisers (maybe a bit of an exaggeration).
I recommend you give it another shot, and play around with the settings, as well as maybe trying out some IRS'. It might take you 5-10 minutes to set up, buy I feel like the quality is worth the effort.
If you're not interested in V4A, you can try A.R.I.S.E which is an excellent alternative.
