Hi,
I would really appreciate if anyone can please provide me these stock apps for Gingerbread 2.3:
1. Keyboard not coming up (I think the LatinIME.apk / odex)
2. Cannot open pictures (Gallery app)
3. "About Phone" will not display.
At least these are what I have discovered missing till now. I went on a rampage with my Root Explorer, blindly deleted unknown APKs.
Thanks.

It's a Spice MI-280 (India)
for the gallery, try cool 3d gallery, is the stock one published by someone else. you could move it to system later...

Thanks Andres but there's an issue. I cannot use the keyboard, so I cannot log in to Google, so I cannot install an app from Google.
I need an attachment or download link for the APKs.

Hi Alsadah, thanks for the APKs. But there seems to be some other problem. I tried installing the APKs but it says "Could not install."
I also tried pasting the APK and ODEX inside the root/data/app folder, still no luck. Any idea? or do I need to reinstall the original ROM?

Okay Alsadah, gallery is up and running :good:
But no luck with keyboard. Still saying "not installed." Actually there is a strange problem I am facing now. Before getting your apk, I had installed gbkb.apk a gingerbread keyboard I had found from google. Now after every few seconds i am getting the message "gingerbread keyboard stopped unexpectedly. Force Close" It seems the application is unable to shut down and hence is unable to be uninstalled. This might be the reason why your keyboard apk is not installing. Dunno.
Somehow cannot find a way to kill the damn gbkb.

You should go on the market and download a keyboard. any keyboard.
or you can even install directly from a PC. login to play market, search for a keyboard that works on android, and then install it on you device. once you are connected to internet from your phone (wifi or mobile data), the app will be installed. once you have a keyboard, there are many ways to play around...

pasting LatinIME in system/app causes it to show Force Close message rpeatedly.
I cannot understand, how your new gallery apk worked but not keyboard. I hope you did not give me the older one again, because in your new zip, gallery folder contained only apk not odex, but keyboard folder contained both apk and odex, so i am wondering if by mistake you gave the older version again.

So i have a rooted verizon GSIII with aokp milestone 1. i downloaded a zip file from the internet and extracted it and it came with about 30 png picture files. when i go to my gallery, it doesn't show anything different but when i go into my file manager, it says its still there. please help.
I've run into the same problem with Gallery not finding new pictures. To fix it, I go into ES File Explorer and click on the image file. When it prompts whether to open it with ES or with Gallery, choose Gallery and open the picture. This will cause Gallery to "find" the pictures, and next time you use it, they should all be there.
problem with camera / gallery running pa 3+
I have the paranoid android rom on my phone. Everything has been going really well except the camera and gallery don't work. When I try to access the camera it says "Can't connect to the camera" I understand from reading in the pa thread by "notta" that the camera/gallery isn't included in gapps but I am unable to find a clear way to fix it. Do I have a problem with the rom? Can I download the 4.2.2 camera and gallery.apk? I have read about doing this but all of the posts are from the end of 2012? I know people get upset when things are posted in the wrong spot so if I have this in the wrong place I will move it? Any help would be greatly appreciated?
Hey everyone, here it is, the new SMS app for Lollipop.
Doesn't work well on my G2. I get a force close when I tap the + to write a new sms.
Yep, same FC here, it must require some additional libs from the Lollipop build!
You have to go to Contacts, search the contact you want to write a message and there you touch "write message". So it works.
But in the messenger app the + produces defenitly a fc.
I hope i could help you and my english was not to terrible.
Greetings
Send by my Lg G2 with G3 Rom
You can't install like a regular APK you need root and install it into system>app
And then it works? Normally yes you don't install you move it to system app and change permissions to 644, rw- r-- r--

I pressume we have to rename the apk and replace the default sms app ?
I can't find the name of the default sms app ... gooling it at this moment but not found any info yet.
Edit : find out the default sms app is in Priv-app folder and name is LGMessage.apk ... but i see yours is from Google , so I'm confused.
^tried a week ago - works perfectly on aosp roms
installed apk like any other app. no FC's or issues. Side note, I did have the default SMS app uninstalled.
Im running liquid smooth 11/1
Not working without the FC in Cloudy G3, tried it in /app and /priv-app with correct permissions. I don't have the earlier google SMS app installed, but do have LGmessenger and CM Messenger (which is just superb IMO)

Was stated by android police that unless you're on a 4.4.4 + ROM , you'll get fc.
It's for vanilla roms only, on stock it doesn't work
did any of you tried playstore version? (it's been officially released on playstore today)
edit:
everything works fine with playstore version (cloudy g3 v2.1 rom, d802 variant)
only thing that doesn't work is the new message popup as in stock roms, but that was expected since it's a lg feature (new messages still show up in the status bar)
Yes, I've just installed it and it's all OK, here's link for you guys
Consultar "Messenger".
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging
Version from playstore working a treat!
Okay, after the update it works perfectly on 4.4.2. Now question is wher to get dialer with material theme matching this messenger?
dialer like this?
xposed + g3 tweaksbox + g3twb lollipop full theme 4.1 set on "phone app"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/mod-gwbt-theme-g3-tweaksbox-themes-t2852754

Hello, I have Sony Xperia C. After rooting it to uninstall app that I didnt need, I unknowingly uninstalled Live Wallpaper Picker. Even after installing the apk file, I get an error that unfortunately Live Wallpaper Picker has stopped. Maybe its to do with the fact that my android version is 4.2.2, and the apk file is 4.0.4. Even after installing the compatible version, the app doesnt install at all. Please help
You may need to restore your stock firmware to fix it now... If you decide to go that route, Here's a guide on that,
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Sony Xperia C > Xperia C General > [HOW TO] Install/Restore Stock Android System on any Xperia Device
?

Great! This worked like a charm, thank you so much. I have rooted my phone to uninstall a few preinstalled apps. Each tie I start a new app I get a notification of root access granted. How can I stop that because its annoying and honestly worrying as if I have messed up something. Can you tell me what are the benefits of a rooted phone and its disadvantages? Plus how can I unroot it and will it be as if it was never rooted? Thank you so much

etc. So many Advantages
Disadvantages :
You warranty in gone
Try THIS ROM by me. it's good It will transform your device's interface into Android 4.4.4 KitKat Interface.
Don's say just click the Thanks Button.
Thats great, thanks. Can I also update my android to kitkat?

Upgrading Actual OS to KitKat is not possible because there is no official update available and also we cannot flash custom kernel due to locked bootloader of Xperia C. We can only upgrade our User Interface to KitKat. I am also making an Android 5.0.1 Custom ROM for Xperia C and it will be uploaded on XDA this month only.
Thanks. Is it normal that after rooting, some apps such as clean master show notification of root access denied sometimes?
walkman doesnt recognize music after handset is at standby
Hi again. I have sony xperia c and I think after rooting it I have created a problem. The walkman app which is in-built doesnt detect music when the handset is used after standby. I keep rebooting but after a few minutes its the same. I have tried media scanner, clearing data in walkman and media storage but its the same. Please help. Did I destroy my phone?:crying:
Help please, my walkman app stops detecting music. Is it possible that these glitches are occurring due to the live wallpaper picker app I installed? Just a crazy thought :crying:

You can find the Album App attached below. Place this in your system>>app folder using Root Explorer and give the permission as "RW-R--R--" and reboot your phone.
Ok, do i need to install the app after placing there or just simply place the file there?
Ok, its still not working, when i want to set a picture as wallpaper it doesnt show the cropping mode, neither does it set the lock screen
Also i just uniinstalled the quickpic app, so that setting wallpaper finds its first preference in album, but when i did try it said that com.sonyericsson.album has stopped, and it says the album has stopped.

i installed the Google Contacts, able to run at first. However after once launch the LG Contacts /Phone app, the Google contacts unable launch anymore, it will auto switch to LG Contacts itself and icon is disappeared from applist.
my workaround is freeze the LG Contacts and install other 3rd party dialers ( i'm using TrueDIaler).
i need Google Contacts to search contacts in my company domain which is using Google. i just unable to get it setup using Exchange under LG Contacts for directory searching.
if anyone have better workaround to get Google Dialer and Contacts to work will be great.
finally got another better workaround by follow this method at G4 forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/themes-apps/google-dialer-g4-root-recovery-t3197351.
it does not work out at first because no Dialer icon in applist. extra step i took is launch the "Google Dialer/Phone" activity, by create shortcut with securesetting.
take note need keep LG Phone dont' disable it else Dialer won't work, but LG Contacts can be disabled. Yeah i got Google Contacts back working again.
Does anyone have a backup of the lg h950 stock 5.1.1 dialer apk from the system folder?
I want to revert back to stock from the Google dialer (too many drawbacks)
Thanks

I followed this guide and it is too vague.
1. I copied the Dialer folder to root/system/priv-app
2. Changed permissions to folder and file to 0644
3. Rebooted
4. No icon
Can you elaborate on setting up the shortcut please?
Also where did you get Google Contacts from? Not in the Play store.

Hi, as I mentioned above there is no icon created. You need use another app 'securesettings' or other equivalent to link 'Google Dialer activity'.
To link the activity:
1. Create widget from home screen
2. Select securesettings
3. Launch activity
4. Select app 'Google dialer'
5. Select the first activity start with 'phone'
6. Save the activity created assign with a nice icon.
7.launch the created widget, bingo!.
Google contacts can be downloaded from apkmirror.
Hope this clear to help in your setup.

So is it normal for the lg phone app to be the only option on incoming calls?
