[Request] Someone who is rooted please try this CSC Feature changing app! - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

By the one and only @wanam. Can someone who is rooted please try this app and let us know if it works with the GS6. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.cscexpert

It appears to work, there are a ton of options/settings that show up in the app. I've not used this before, what are some good ones that I can change?

Sweet thanks! You can add shutter menu in camera, add a phone button in the call log so you can call by pushing the button, instead of swiping, etc. Just look around!

Do you happen to know of any threads that discussed using this to give insight on what to change and what not to?
If you know what any other changes are please list those and I will try them, and confirm.

These are the only options when sorting by camera, searching by shutter does not yield any other results than the ones pictured either.

I don't know what the shutter menu did, but I've included a screenshot with pro settings enabled in the camera app if that interests you.

Oh the shutter sound, you can disable that in the camera settings. i.imgur.com/rhK3yQA.png
Also just found the 'enable call button in list' setting, it's under contacts.

Ha Ha when I asked you about that, you didn't say "shutter SOUND menu", just "shutter menu" that's why I was confused on what you were looking for. I can confirm you can turn on/ off the shutter sound in the camera settings menu.
Also confirm enabling the call button in call list does indeed work.
I tried to get the delay sending and the scheduled sending back in text message, and none of the items I tried worked for those. Still poking around in there though.
Thanks for pointing out this app.

Yes go in Setting/Applications(select tab All) then find application called Camera(or just look for Camera icon).Tap on it and scroll down and find button that says Clear deafult setting(or something like that) and click on it, then click button that says clear cache

It worked and this is a really cool way which can be used for any app.
Btw you have to reset the gallery settings since it is "combined" with the camera and it worked, thank you.

[Q] Swipe down to answer phone call with speakerphone?

I had a ROM, don't remember the specific one at this moment, but it had the convenient option of swiping down to answer phone with speakerphone. This was in addition to regular option of swiping right to answer and up to reply with SMS.
Is there a way to add this in?

[APP] [4.3+] Hold Back To Kill [ROOT]

Here is an app that allows you to hold your back button to kill the currently open application.
If popularity is high enough, I will update it with things like whitelist etc.
If you use a Samsung device, the only problem is that you can't show the MultiWindow bar anymore. I will work on a fix for it. I only made this because xposed doesn't work on Samsung Lollipop yet so this is what I wanted until it is. Once it works, I prolly won't ever touch this app again.
Thanks everyone!
UPDATE:
- Performance improvement
useful, thanks for this!!!!
Great job! I've been missing this feature since I switched to Lollipop. Thanks!

Hello, CM12 with standard navbar (3 buttons) doesn't have that setting. It s only implmented in roms with navbars with extra settings like opening an app etc etc
Having Trouble
I'm having a similar problem where even a single tap on the back button is closing the app. I have a rooted Galaxy S4 running Android 4.4

So this is happening when using the navbar and not the physical buttons?
It seems like the up action isn't being triggered. I could try to implement maybe a double click back to kill option. Ill try to debug on my 5.0 emulator that uses the navbar and see if i can figure anything out. Weird how that's happening.

Hm, I truly don't know then. I really would need the device in hand to test with. I could try to do testing by sending you a file with loads of debug information in it. Would you mind that?

I was just an idiot that assumed the activation time was in units of seconds, not milliseconds. This may be what most people are having trouble with. It works well now, so thank you and keep up the good work.

[Q] Arranging apps in alphabetical order

So the menu button used to be on S3 / Note 3 / etc other Samsung phones has been replaced with the recent apps button. Is there any way I can sort the apps in alphabetical order instead of the manual way now? I liked that feature in my Note 3, how do I go to settings page in an app without the button?

i think it's default, i'm on t-mobile and any app i have open, long pressing recent apps button goes to split screen mode. I do however have a moveable floating menu widget that i can move around and also tap to show a menu screen for a few of my apps.

If that's the default, that's brutal. I really hope my Canadian S6 isn't going to be like that.
Worst case, I guess there are always ROMs or root-based mods.

Because for a lot of people the option simply isn't there. I believe it was added in a software revision that went out some time after the review units were sent out, but that's just speculation.

Ah okay well then that makes perfect sense
The Canadian S6's are like that too, you can rearrange the apps how you want them but no alphabetical. Also, you need lightflow to control the LED, I'm coming from the oneplus one and I miss the control of the LED!
Uk S6 doesnt have option either, really irritating not being able to auto arrange. why on earth did they remove that?!
On my sprint s6 I can sorry by ABC from an icon in top right of the app drawer... I click it... And it sorts them...
OMG did they really get rid of this? It is not there on the Canadian model.
Also removed on german Vodafone model. :/
Also not on the Australian model on Telstra.

Funnily enough if you can be bothered you can still move all the app icons into alphabetical order.....

Quick Launching Camera from Lockscreen

I must be missing something but hell if I can figure out how to launch the camera from the lockscreen.
Used to be able to do it with a double power button click on my S8 but on my VZW Pixel 3 it brings up the code unlock first. I find that there are many times I just want to take a quick shot without having to unlock the phone.
For that matter, does Pie offer lockscreen widgets at all?
Thanks for your help.

Strange, works for me. It's possible a Device Administrator (work email, etc) is preventing it... They sometimes disable certain functions while the screen is locked.

Ah, yes, those were the days (pre-Lollipop) when my lockscreen was super useful and interactive, and so was my notification ticker in the status bar. I feel like an old man now remember how good things USED to be. lol
But to the OP, something is clearly wrong as this feature is turned on by default on Pixel devices. Try a factory reset. You can backup your phone to your computer using the adb backup and restore commands.
Did you select Camera as default app when launching with the phone unlocked? The first time it will give you the "open with" dialog. For me it was Camera and Snapchat. I selected camera and always, and now can launch camera from anywhere.

No, it'll work. You can't view pictures taken before using the camera unless you unlock
I try and get this screen
Works for me with pattern lock, don't use pin.
Just go to the camera settings then scroll down and turn on Quick launch
Enter your pin, and select one of your camera apps as "always" then it'll allow you to skip the pin when you double tap. ?

Thank you for the tip!
I hope by now the problem has been resolved, I was also looking out how to access the camera from the lock screen and it turns out (thanks to advice from friends not from anything I found from the many internet searches) that if you click the power button twice the camera pops up. You can check this by going to Settings- System - Gestures - Jump to Camera.
