i cannot swap my external and internal memory in android phone by editing vold.fstab file.
whenever i edit it and reboot my phone my external sd card is not displayed.
can someone help me in editing the file ?? pls

Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. There are several tutorials for swapping your internal/external memory on XDA, here's a couple:

If you're following those instructions exactly and still have trouble I'd suggest asking for help in one of those threads.

I am using a XOLO Q700 smartphone and tried all possible efforts using xda developer and other sites to swap internal storage to emulated storage. (not to confuse with internal sd to external sd).
I already tried vold.fstab method for all possible combinations to swap sd in addition to mentioned in so many tutorials.
The main problem is my phone has a emulated drive as internal storage and there is no internal sd for apps seperately. I have also attached screenshots for understanding.
link2sd is working for me but data of applications like sygic cant be moved as data files is placed in root of internal sd and not in /android/data/
so only way is to swap sd
Is there any way to swap sd with emulated storage?? please let me know if its there. thanks in advance
So i got sd card in my phone but then i go to my storage it shows internal memory i mean like the android counts internal memory as SD card How can i fix this?
You should Look in Settings > Storage. your phone will move Large Applications such as Angry birds into your SD Card.
Here's what you need to note. Android Refers to your Internal Storage as /sdcard and your actual SD Card as External SD Card or /ext-sd

I know that but its not showing the external SD card in manage apps
It will not. Please post in the link I suggested for one of the the device specific experts to chime in.

This is Arup.
i am using Karbonn smart A26 running on Stock 4.2.2 firmware.
I swapped my inter Sd storage with the external one by editing vold.fstab
But all the application in install now goes to new external SD storage (actually the internal one)
Hence my 16 GB new internal storage (external one) remains free .
Help me out what can I do to use the external storage as the internal one successfully !!!

This app Apps2SD should get the job done. You will have to undo the FSTAB changes you had done.
hi.so far after root i have learned few things from xda (big thanks) like link2sd,obb to sd via xposed framework but i am still unable to do one thing which eats up my internal memory/internal sd card of my device.i have an application named SYGIC which downloads its data in internal sd card under folder sygic and not in android/data or android/obb so if i normal copy this data to external sd card the application does not work.please help me.i wanna know a way by which i can copy the data to external sd card and application also work.please please help me

I want To swap my Xperia e3 internal Memory with External sd memory
I saw Many methods to Swap Internal memory with external card memory
But none of them help me
I saw a method to modify "vold.fstab" file in system/etc directory
But i didn't find the two Lines to modify
Is there anyone to help me out

Please tell me that which line to modify to Swap Internal memory with external card memory.
