OS Language

Does the 750v give us the option to select the desired language at start-up or after a hard reset like in the Palm OS vesions? I ask this because it is very hard to find it in English here in Switzerland. I asked a Swiss internet retailer and this is the reply I got;
"No, we have only the German Treo 750V, which is multilingual (including English). "

WM5.0 OS doesn't support multiple laguages on the PPC. WM5.0 on Smartphone do however.
It is possible to the the language of the ROM but it's quite an time taking process

I don't know German 750v, but I think OS resource is English.
If so, this may work for you if you want to change German to English.

I wrote to Palm and they confirmed that I should purchase an English version since it is not possible to select the OS language on a Treo 750v.

you say it is possible to update the language on the 750v. I just bought an Italian version which gives me the choice of Italian or Italian (Swiss)
I would dearly love to run everything in English. How would i go about upgrading/changing my 750v to English??

My advice: Use a WWE ROM. I don't know if it's available for the Treo though

You should download the Cingular ROM that is floating around here! It's in English and works perfectly. I had an Italian Treo too and now it's in English, although I'd prefer a German update. But maybe this comes in the future.

I have a french rom, I would like to change it to english.
If I install the Cingular english rom that is floating what will happen to my keyboard. I have a french keyboard will it be affected? i.e when I press a will I have a or w?

layout keyboard stays. I have german qwertz keyboard, after flashing english rom stay qwertz.

xT9 international with TOUCH keyboard

Hi everybody,
please, do you know how to install new/other language to the xT9?
I heat enlish prediction when I use example czech language ... I must disable xT9, but this is not ideal

Lang Change

Hi every one, excuses for my english itś too bad. I am interesting in change the system language at my hx2190b. The original languge itś English but I loves change at Spanish, but when I execute the Rom update do not install this Spanish package.

Hi everyone,
I have creted 5 zip with 5 different language packs for the new android gingerbread keyboard:
IT SV ES FR DE NL DU CZ
You just need to nand backup (I am not responsable for anything)
toggle signature verify off and flash in recovery
Then just use the english language...(I mean... do not select any language or select your language if u want to see your language name under the space bar) don't worry it will work with ur lang!
No multilang. sorry.
No copy paste works sorry.
If u have problems just tell me and Ill try to fix.
PLEASE REPORT IF IT WORKS OR NOT

BTW I flashed the zip on my desire (which is running MIUI) and it works properly with italian predictions

Fix possible?

Try to Disable the verification check and re-flash it.
You ca find it in Amons recovery under "others"

Flash just the french one!

German keyboard is working perfectly fine.

Nop... I tried to add multiple languages but I cant make it to recognize more the default one...
I'll try to take a look at it another time!

Seems like a permission issue, try running fix_permissions

Not helping with fix permissions either.

Try pushing the apk and the library .so with adb... i did it that way 'cause i didn't want to reboot, for me it worked fine
backup your actual keyboard and library just in case

cant we change language of the OS

Hi all,
just now bought a Motorola Xoom from t-mobile germany store......
when i came home and unpacked it, i am unable to select english language... its only showing German language in language settings............ and i don't speak german .....
why cant i select the english language ..... anyone please help me........
