how to get better performance while gaming?

hi guys i've seen a video of GTA3 on i9000 and it was smooth as on i9100.
im using stock xxkpq rom, deodexed, with lockscreen, crt effect mods,
im also using uc kernel v8 fix,
1.2ghz, 200mhz
smartassv2, sio
what am i supposed to do play gta3 smooth as how i saw on i9000, so our devices almost same. isnt it?
should i use custom roms? but i dont like custom themes, i want UI as default.

Hello frends i am new to htc explore(not new to android).i am using stock indian rom with default kernel.i already rooted my rom.i want a kernel which work in stock rom and have NO bug and support ext partition and overclockable to more than 600mhz.thanks guys.

Welcome, there is no such kernel, mostly they are only 3 kernels for explorer, non of them works fine on stock rom, If you want stock, closest you can do is Ateeq's rom, then to clock it you have to flash yannou's kernel, which has OC but most of the guys sayed that it is fake OC, I think not but....... I'm a noob. So far what I figure out is cranium kernel, whit that you can clock it to 1307 which is fun for a while, but battery is just diyng with full clock. All of them supports ext partition.

I have my doubts, anyway do a backup and try, I'm sure about yannou's and ateeq's they don't work with stock, when I tryed cranium, I've already forgot what stock was, so don't know but nowhere says that it wont, so it's up to you. My doubts are about stock, ti's odexed and that's why I'm not sure will it work corectly.

I personally recommend to try CM9, I've installed it yesterday and I can say there wasn't bugs(oh yeah, there was something, when I used phone in USB storage mode(plugged in to computer) Google Play wasn't working properly, it was force closing on the app startup. But this is nothing).

Sorry, exactly now, I'm using default CM9 kernel, so I can't say that.

So default cm9 kernel is not overclockable?i assume that all custom rom have overclockable kernel?

I thought it too, but setCPU shows max clock 600Mhz.

Oc is not a gud idea..du to hvy battery drain..cm9 with oc is available..but not a stable one...

hey, i have latest vipers rom 1.3.5 but fell my phone little laggy and somethimes it freeze and he is working with big lags someone has idea why is that ? my kernel version is 3.0.36 bricked !

no only ordroid but i am thinking of changing current rom i like HTC sense but i also want to try some other.

Make a Nandroid backup of your current rom and yes, you could try different kernels, but you could also try different roms. If you like the sense based roms try Elegancia (there are different sense versions) or Android Revolution HD. As far as I know the development of Ordroid is finished so you will not see any update on that but the two other mentioned above are updated and they are really good roms. Try them and as you have the backup of Vipers rom you can always revert back to that.

True give other rom a try. Also try out jelly bean. I'm using paranoid Android by Dragun and it's very fast with newest kernel. I came from viper to paranoid Android and I love it. It's a great rom. Try it out too and see what you think. It's been stable and amazing! Tethering works perfectly with Wi-Fi tether and it's not laggy. I've personally really enjoyed the switch. At first I was worried how stable jelly bean would be but it's proven to be smooth fast and really stable. So while trying out different roms do give this a try I think you will like it.

I installed cm10 by bruce it's very good and smooth but,,, he has performance option in settings and there i can over clock and set frequencies of my cpu.
I was reading about Overclocked Kernel v1.5.2 by SebastianFM and faux kernel that they are realy good and fast. i also want to play 3d games so is it better to keep cm10 stock kernel or instal some of them ???

sebs and faux kernel are of sense roms ..wont work for aosp/cm9/cm10 roms
keep the stock one imo ..its good enough

tamcore kernel works with cm10, but you wont get support from the developer.

I have an LG P920 (30a) with stock android 4.0.4 but rooted., please recomand me an kernel with overclock , i have try some kernels but im not satisfied, the phone still have lag.

I want an kernel with overclock option on GPU and CPU, i have try an kernel that say its overclocking the gpu at 442Mhz , but in antutu and qadrant i can see the difference between the kernel with 386Mhz gpu overclock , in all kernels the cpu was clocked at 1400mhz and profile set to performance and I/O to deadline .
In Minion rush or Plants Vs Zombies i have to wait a lot of time until the games are loading.
Now i have buy and 8Gb mem card Class 10 and i will try to partition that card in ext4 and make an Swap of 2Gb.
ps: i have try seeder 2.0 but it says it can not start because it dose not have root acces , but i have granded the acces in Su.

remove all ****ty programs that offer you performance !!!
do not make SWAP files
tell us what kind of kernel you already use and what you are not satisfied - exactly. What kind of programs you use all the time and the most used programs and features for you. then we can start thinking about your lag.
OC does not bring you much. especially in benchmarking. I suppose in your case you have many background services and wakelocks.

I have flashed the PH85 KERNEL ICS-1.zip kernel, before this i have try others kernel (PH85 KERNEL v1.1.8-496iva-483gpu-486ram.zip , kernelICSV28b_V1.1.zip ,Kernel_Next_V4.zip ,Shazo's Kernel.zip,bluekernel_for_p920_v120.zip,),i have used PIMP my room to tweek the phone.
I have flashed the PurePerformances™X_CM.1.4.zip , but with no results.

Help with CM

Hi all! When i use jaggy rom i set 320MHz and i have 0 lags. when i use CM 10.1 and i write anything i have extremely lags (on 600 MHz). I have aries kernel v1 (v2 not working). And battery use is very high. With wich kernel and rom i will nave no lags and i will can set 828 MHz?
Ps: i like CM is very nice

Maybe CM10 or CM9 with pandora or jarvis kernel but i tried them a lot of times and cant boot. Battery use will always be high i think, cause its CM10.1 and it is oc-ed.
P.S i think maybe ill try some sense (3.5 maybe) cause it boots very fast, no lags and better battery life.

Under clocking CM 10.1 will reduce performance. Its android 4.2, need more memory and cpu

so u want OC? try OCed kernel,but remember to carefully follow cute_prince pll2 method
and about lag,it depends not only on cpu,but also sd-card u use,(class 4,6,10)...
remember to calibrate your battery after installing new rom
