I'm using CM12 Beta 6, in the previous builds varun.chitre has added a property which takes original MAC address from hardware. But in this build my MAC address is not true it is 00:0a:f5:89:89:ff Is there any way to return original MAC address or do we have to wait next build ?
Thank you

Kernel:
2.32.9-perf root (at) DELL104#
yes, i know its the kernelversion, but what does (at)root mean? its a stock phone with a stock kernel.
Thanks in advance
root is the username used to compile the kernel
DELL104 is the name of the PC used to compile the final kernel on.
It was probably a DELL and machine number 104 or something the like.
The only thing to say is that it's 'bad' is that they compiled it as root, should have been possible as a user I'd think, even so, they could have used a nicer hostname [email protected] for example would have been interesting.

I've updated the source code. Searching in internet I came across a thread where someone had the same problem. So, a special thanks to Carlo Cannas !
I tested the full source code on my Galaxy Nexus and it works perfectly. Let me know if there are other issue.

Hello guys, today I tried to make sure that the path in which videos are saved will be retrieved dynamically and not written by hand as it is currently. I tried with:
String path = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory()+File.separator+"Folder"+File.separator+"SubFolder"+File.separator
Click to collapse
But even though the path is correct recording does not start. Does anyone know how to do?

Using CM 10.2 and CM 11 nightly, i have tried to setup ad-hoc wifi between multiple HTC One S phones, but there is some issue, probably with the kernel in combination with the prima_wlan driver, preventing the devices from conneting. There is a bugreport (cyanogenmod bug tracker CYAN-3799) with more details.
While researching, I realized that the official CM kernel for ville uses a quite old version (3.1.7.16) of the prima wlan driver. Using the sources from Code Aurora Forum (external/wlan/prima/) I tried building the kernel with prima wlan driver version 3.2.3.282 and 3.2.3.287, but they do not compile against the cm-11 ville kernel. For other android smartphones, I found multiple kernels which use recent prima wlan drivers (like freexperia/android_Kernel_sony_msm8x27 on github, SyNtheticNightmar3/CM_Harkness_Kernel on github, and others). With the prima wlan source from the CM Harkness Kernel, which says it is using prima wlan driver version 3.2.7.42, I could compile the cm-11 ville kernel, but flashing a complete cm-11 built with this dirver source (and the corresponding prima wlan firmware in /system/etc/firmware/wlan/prima) does not work.
The dmesg log from my cm-11 ville build using the prima driver source from the Harkness kernel (originaly from some Sony device) states the following, related to the wifi device:
Code:
<3>[ 54.279261] wlan: [649:F :HDD] hdd_driver_init: WCNSS driver not ready
To be true, I have no idea, if this actually is a more general kernel issues, a driver issues, an issues with the device's firmware, a hardware issues, or just my stupidity. Does anybody here have experience with this part of the android kernel or knows how to successfully use ad-hoc mode wifi on the HTC One S? Or may just a hint on which prima device driver sources might be working for the ville?
I would very much appreciate your support!

I'm a developer of China, and my mobile type is XT1079(MOTO G 2014), I tyied to compile a linux kernel to replace the origin kernel, and I used the project provided by Motorala in github(https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/kernel-msm/tree/MMI-LXB22.46-28).And[/url] I edit the config file based on the "furnace" kernel config.
After I finishing compiling and replacing my kernel. I found the wifi doesn't work, there is a wifi.ko will be loaded, so I downloaded the opensource drvier(https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/vendor-qcom-opensource-wlan-prima/tree/MMI-LXB22.46-28[/url]), and compiled it.
But it doesn't work, I can get the same info from the kmsg log with the origin wlan.ko, but in wifi configure page it will be blocked and show no AP.
Also, the size of wlan.ko I compiled is 40MB, but the origin wlan.ko file is only 4MB
I don't know how to fix this problem, could you give me some advices?
I doubt that there are something wrong in my kernel config file
Another Chinese dude? Handshake
By the way, this is the Moto G (2013) forum, so I guess you should ask the moderator to move the thread into the dedicated forum for Moto G (2014).

Hi,
Sorry if the question is dumb.
I just finished a test build for LG L70 (w5), from official Lineage 14.1, based on the official documentation . Booted successfully, and i see that security string is 2020-10-05.
It's strange as Android 7 is not supported by Google, is not updated.
Where is this string come from? I have seen that the default mk file is containing it, but the question is that is only a value, or it has really pulled some patches from the Google repos?
Another, where can i find any information about Android version support periods? (How long will be 8.x supported with security patches?)
Thanks for any clarification
