yea i have a question bout the htc freestyle i was kind of wondering can you root it and install custom roms like cm 7 or cm 9,cm 10,cm 11,cm 12 ect and does someone have something that i can go by like how to get into like recovery or something like that so i can maybe have some custom roms also is there custom roms for this phone thanks

I searched on Google and I didn't find anything concluent so I came to XDA to ask you this.
I downloaded the HTC Sensation kitchen to cook roms. Before I read all the tutorials about it, I just want to know if it is safe to atypical AOSP roms based on Cyanogen with framereswork.apk from Samsung or LG roms.
It may sound silly but I want to make new roms with new UIs because I don't really like the Sense UI , never did...
So what do you think about that ?
EDIT: My principal fear is to brick my sensation... but I can always revert this no ? Via Fastboot USB or some other software no ? ( Like what i did when i bricked my old X10 )
You won't brick it by swapping the framework-res.apk if you do. It might just not boot up.
Okay so I'd still be able to boot into bootloader and recovery and restore my last working rom ?
In fact I would like to know if it's possible to use another framework-res.apk with every AOSP ROM like Cyanogenmod or Virtuous Quattro ( cuz I'm pretty sure My sensation won't boot if I put a Touchwizz based framework-res.apk into a Sense Rom but I don't know if it would work in AOSP Roms ).

hi guys im running cm10.1 latest nighty build but have a question on the kernals are there any out atm for this build now im reading on the forums rooms and it said that i do not need one as the cm10.1 roms comes with the custom rom if i want to change this what kernals are out there atm for me and what is the process for installing
and also for some strange reason if i would like to go back to stock kernal would that require me just flasing back to a stock rom?

I would like to see your advice whether should I flash a cutom rom like NOS_v2.0.0_X920E or to still run stock?
My device is HTC X920e with unlocked bootloader, S-ON rooted and TWRP installed.
Are there any advantages to go for custom rom? I know i'm running and there are some chines app installed even we delete it removed it using other advance apk or ultimate backup.etc, but after restart the phone, thos will be auto installed which is very annoying.
But maybe you can help bring some more reasons why we should still on stock or custom one.
Thank in advance and feel that in HTC butterfly's forum seem silent and not more developers like to pay much here.

Edited: decided to flash right a way. running custom rom now...
phone's really not that famous to devs out there. so far I've used the NOS ROM and nothing else. not much to choose from, that is. but the ROM's running great for a daily driver.

I've been researching bout Rooting and Custom Roms for months and I've rooted my phone successfully just last week and been enjoying it BUT I'm really obsessed of having Custom Roms specifically MIUI V5!
And that's the problem, it seems my device don't support custom roms. Mybe its not compatible. I've been searching for CustomRoms for this Device for weeks and I dont even sleep sometimes cuz I really want to have that ROM yet I CANT FIND ANYTHING.
I've been trying to flash other roms like MIUIV5 for CherryMobile Flare or CM Skyfire 2.0 (cuz I think they're closely related) but no matter how many times I try to use the CWM Recovery, ROM Manager or TWRP, it still won't flash that ROM. Cuz maybe they're not compatible with this device.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME?? PLEASE? CAN ANYONE MAKE MIUI ROM COMPATIBLE WITH MY DEVICE? I REALLY WANT TO HAVE THAT ROM!

Coming from a Samsung galaxy S3 (lost phone ), I'm not all too familiar with the HTC, specifically the HTC Explorer. Just wondering what you guys recommend for a Custom ROM and a Recovery ROM
Recovery, I've used Clockwork and TeamWin.. is either better for PICO ?
For ROMs, in the past I've used Cyanogen Mod and liquid smooth.. neither did I like. Have used a couple others, but can't recall their names..
Is there a ROM that's close to being pure android (without all the bloat) ? or is there a particular favorite amongst the Explorer/PICO crowd ?
[EDIT] Can you use ODIN for HTC the same way I used it for Samsung S3 ?
Any suggestions would be super.
