I have been trouble shooting my 16gb SD card for my phone for quite some time, my class 6 4gb performed great, fast phone, finds my music, album art. everything. When I put 14gb of music on my 16gb card, my phone slows down, not all the music shows up, TF3d music player basicially doesnt work, very unresponsive. I then loaded up the 16gb card with a couple hundred songs, it shows more music when I have a few songs compared to 14gb, its faster, more responsive, etc.
So is there an upper limit of how much music you can hold? I let it search for a couple of hours even, and it will only find one album.
Anyone else have any problems or experience when it comes to having a lot of music on their phone?

The reason it's slow is because it has to find every MP3 and then index it, the less music, the faster it will be.
So basicially if I want to have a lot of music on my phone then I am just out of luck? Unless I wait a week for the phone to index? Or are their other options to help the music show up fast, like on the iphone for example.
maybe use s2p? that works well for me, have about 3gigs of songs on my 16gb. i don't use the tf3d player at all.
The problem is HTC Audiomanager. It can't handle that much music. I use Pocket Player, which can index my 10+ gigs of music in just a few minutes. I disabled TF3D because it slows down my phone too much, but for whatever reason, any time I start Pocket Player, HTC Audiomanager will start up in the background and start trying to index my music, slowing and eventually freezing Pocket Player. I would love to know how to disable HTC Audiomanager for good, but for now, I just use a Mort Script to launch PP, wait 10 secs, then kill Audiomanager...
Anyway, the point is, the problem is Audiomanager. Hopefully someone can tell you (and me) how to disable its auto search function, and then you can just use some other software instead...
2 options:
Let the phone sit for some time after tabbing the music tab. Though you can play music the album cache is still being built
Mortplayer is nice too and comes with an audio booster which works fairly good
I had the same problem with the phone locking up while trying to find all my music files. What seemed to work for me was letting windows media player do a library update, I don't know if it creates an index file or something like that, but as soon as that's done all my music is avaliable on the music tab.
Running eos wingray google music app always stutters when im web browsing wth? What can I do very annoying! The music I play is ALL from internal memory and not streaming...then again it always has stuttered ecen stock honeycomb ugh!
Hi all,
I've installed the MIUI_v4 2.7.27 and love it so far. Problem is, the default music player in MIUI_v4 won't even start unless I take my SD card out (which, of course, has all my songs on it).
Music plays fine on music players like doubletwist that I download from Google play but I'd prefer to just use the default MIUI music player. I have a 32 gb microSD card but it's got about 10 gigs free so I'm not sure what the problem could be.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this?
Music playback on my tab(p3113 cm10) stutters. It happens after every 10-15 seconds even if the tab is idling. Had the same problem in stock too. Does anybody else suffer from the same problem?? Any solutions??

Do you know something , I thought it was just me. I did some mixes on my PC and I thought I must had done something wrong in my mix studio application. The only ROM its not happened on is Stock ICS. Not so much stutters kind of pauses / jumps for half a second. Its annoying isn't it !
The reason i thought it was my mistake as it happens on any Music player i use. Currently using Player Pro.
Same tab , different ROM and yes the mixes play fine on my laptop ?
May be happen in certain tracks which have a specific mp3 encoding so try another tracks
Try to delete data and cash of music app from setting/app
Try other music players from play store as google play music or android music player or 3
Try delete cash and dalvik cash from cwm
Put music in internal memory if in external and see may be card is defective or has a low read speed
Try app to measure cpu load while playing music may be odd app causing cpu load near 100% so stutter music if found uninstall it
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app

I have tried everything on that list...Tried different roms, different music player, cpu is mostly idling and the memory card plays hd videos etc fine, so card shouldn't be the issue...
Just want to chime in and say that I have the exact same problem on my P3100. I'm currently running AOKP build 4.
could be a hardware problem if it;s d same on stock and cm10
Still present in CM10.1
Damn!
In AOKP Milestone 1 (Android 4.1.2) the problem was not there anymore. However, in the latest CM 10.1 Nightlies (Android 4.2.1), the music stuttering is back. I find that extremely weird.
Hello I am new here. I have the 5.5" Alcatel Onetouch Idol 3 Unlocked. i am running the most recent version for this phone. I have noticed that there is a playback issue on Google Play Music. Every once in a while it will 'stutter' the music. for example if i am playing a song it will randomly pause and play inconsistently for like a 1/2 a second. I have noticed this only on songs I have uploaded to my Play library from my computer. It does not matter if the song is streaming or downloaded, happens all the time. This does not happen when I am listening to music 'added to my library' from the Play selection. I have not noticed this with the stock music player because I don't use it.
I have also played with developer options but to no avail. I have tried changing the media player from "NuPlayer" to "awesome player" and no change. (However I did notice it made web videos play MUCH BETTER). I also changed logger buffer sizes to the biggest size; 16M per log buffer, I also changed it to the smallest size. No success.
Any solutions?
Thanks is advance.
Known issue with stock. Some people got around it (myself included) by putting downloaded music on internal memory and that stopped it, though never once did streaming music ever skip for me. That being said, there is no reason not to use Cyanogenmod at this point, especially over stock. Those issues do not exist there. Alcatel's stock ROM is pretty god awful, in my opinion.
