This is an old way but always works for basic fixing of devices.
Use this method to atleast start your device and then use PC Companion to update your device.

I'm not looking for update I just want my phone to start and my dear friend I tried sony update service and it didn't work
any other idea
Have you tried a hard reset? [push the hole at the back of the phone near the sim slot]
XC battery needs to be charged to at least 50% before PC Companion can detect it. Try charging your phone for a few hours before connecting it to your PC.

I know there are probably lots of threads about this, but I couldn't find one about E3 since it's a relatively new phone, but to point now
So I tried to update my Xperia E3 to it's latest firmware via the Sony pc companion(it was the only option) and during the update ,once it was downloaded it prompted to connect the phone through the USB cable, once done it began installing the update but when it was like at 80-85% it showed an error saying that internet connection isn't available and gave two options to either retry or cancel, now the internet was just working fine, I checked google, Youtube everything and it was working, but every time I hit retry it gave the same option ,so eventually I canceled the update,
Now the phone was switched off so I tried switching it on and it just froze at the sony boot logo screen, restarting with power button+volume up only restarts it to the same situation(stuck at logo screen), I did look up for a solution but couldn't find one that fit,
Of course I did switch it off using the off button at the back of phone(under the back cover), and I know about Sony Update service but that's no longer supported(it required the phone in off state), pc companion can't detect an off phone and when it does it starts phone to boot frozen screen and fails at detect step, another thing I found was a custom tool(possibly just SUS) that could flash a firmware in an off phone but however there is no firmware available for my version, since I live in India, so there's that , any help is appreciated,
A few things:
-The battery was at 91% when update started
-There was no root attempt etc made on phone, it was complete stock
-I did update the firmware once earlier but just from the phone it was a 2 mp update, no pc
-When I started this update there was already a 29 mb something update available without pc, and that's pretty much all, like I said any help is appreciated
Don't worry buddy, your phone doesn't die yet. Actually, PC Companion (PCC) has repair phone/tablet function.
Open PCC, click Start button in Support Zone, then continue to click Start button under Phone/Tablet Software Update and you will see "Repair your phone/tablet". Just follow its instruction. remember using the hard reset button under the back cover to turn off the device first and don't turn it on.
Anyway, what is your model? d22xx? i can't provide the firmware unless I know exactly the model.
It worked

Hello, my device is D2212 and I have similar problem.
I've rooted and unlocked bootloader using this method from XDA forum to root Xperia E3. However after unlocking bootloader and root my device my PC and my notebook doesn't recognize my device to transfer data or access data of cellphone. It keeps in charging mode.
Today it was really weird and lagging way too much so I tried to reset to factory setting. After that my device does not start android it keep stuck on blue screen right after display of Xperia and android.
I tried this method you suggested of PC Companion but it does not work since PC does not recognize my device anymore since rooting.
I need help here, please.
O just bought this device last week.
Thanks in advance.

Go to xperia care near you.
Might be a defective piece.

Alternatively, you can test touch screen by going to setting -about phone- diagnosis-test-touchscreen
This will give you idea about that whether the actual problem with touch screen or not.

this massage from sony support :
Thank you for contacting the Sony Xperia support centre.
With regards to your inquiry about the screen issue, we are sorry for the inconvenience, kindly be informed that you need to go through a software repair, please check the below instructions:
Before you start the software repair, you need to have PC Companion installed on your computer.
To install PC Companion:
1. Turn on your Android™ phone and connect it to a PC using a USB cable.
2. Your phone: Tap Install to install PC Companion on the PC.
3. Computer: If a pop-up window that appears notifies you about available PC Software, select Run Startme.exe.
4. Computer: Click Install to start the installation and then follow the instructions to complete the installation.
Tip: PC Companion is also available for download from the PC Companion download page.
Note: If you have just installed PC Companion on a computer, disconnect and then reconnect your phone before downloading the software updates.
To repair your phone software using PC Companion:
Kindly note that it is preferred to back up all your data before repairing your phone because some of the information in your phone might be lost during the repair process.
Kindly be sure that your phone has enough memory as the update takes some of the phone memory.
Kindly be sure that your phone battery is more than 90% while you are repairing your phone.
Kindly follow these steps:
1. Start your phone and connect it to a computer using a USB cable.
2. Computer: Wait for a few seconds for PC Companion to start. If PC Companion doesn’t start automatically, you can start it from the start menu on the computer.
3. Computer: In the Support Zone application, click Start, and then select the Phone Update option. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Note: Update option might give you the phone is up to date, then followed with a link to do a software repair, so you should click on that and wait for the software to be downloaded and repaired on your phone.
Note: Do not disconnect the USB cable when updating your phone as it can damage the content being transferred.
is this will help???

Hmm but how ? When windows dont see phone on usb when I connect it ?
but, did you try?
also there is a yellow button in the right tap, pressing it for 120 seconds resets the phone, but don't think it can be useful for you at the moment...

Hmmm yes I did try it, but nothing happened, is there any way to flash it somehow even the phone can not turn on?
Hey Guys,
I'm not sure if this issue has been solved, but I was kinda clumsy when i tried to install superSU.zip via twrp (I have TWRP 3.0.2-0)and my Z3 still turns on but wont go to the home screen. I tried downloading the stock firmware and used flashtool but I can't get my phone to flashmode via volume down and plugging it. When I plug it on my laptop (windows 10) while holding any button it shows me the sony logo and nothing happens, no lights. so I turn off the device via the emergency button and holding it down for a few seconds. Good thing is im still able to go to TWRP via turning the phone on and waiting for the purple LED and pressing the volume up and down.
I tried looking for a back up file for my Z3 d6603 and planning to put it on my SD card and restore via TWRP. is my phone really dead? I'm not losing hope yet since i can still charge my phone (i dont see the battery icon though) but it charged from 70 to 83 while plugged in without the red LED and the battery logo.
Can someone please help me with this dilemma? I cant find the right keywords for this problem using google. any help will be much appreciated guys!
bootloop solution
Hello, regarding your question ami happened to me several times when trying to root my old good z1 what you can do if you did not make a backup of your rom, you must have Sony PC Companion on your pc ok and then connect your z3 Off, the pc companion detect the phone and what you have to do is go to the section where it says Support Zone and followed where it says software update of the phone will appear a window that says that the phone could not be found but more abajito says repair phone You click there and start the process ok, look for more reference and accuracy look for a video of it on youtube, I would leave the link but I block it I'll leave you the name of the video and try to find it out, luck. :good::good::good:

Maybe is just the flex, one day my phone fell and I paid for repair, but when it happen again, I disassembly the phone and just conect the flex.
Solved.
Here's how for future reference if someone encounters a similar issue.
1. Disconnect battery and reconnect it
2. Download and install Xperia Companion Tool from Sony (tested on Mac, but the Windows version should work as well)
3. Choose Repair Software/Xperia on the Companion tool
4. Connect phone to computer using a USB cable
5. Disconnect phone when the Xperia splashscreen appears.
Done.
