Hi guys,
I'm very noob with Sensation, spent two nights for FAQ's, guides, etc. anyhow, still need help...
I've flashed recent CM9.1. Noticed default kernel (shipped with CM) is not overlocked and has 1.2MHz. Also noticed it has low benchmark results on Quadrant.
Then I've updated kernel with recent Faux v008, as it has a lot of positive feedbacks. Now able to overlock (didn't modified anything, just left with defaults) and benchmarks dramatically increased. So I was happy. Till yesterday when noticed it's not possible to connect phone to PC as USB drive. On forums found some similar reports with complains that this happening after kernel change.
Now questions:
1. is it possible to revert back default kernel which shipped with CM9.1 without full ROM update? (I've already configured/installed tons of apps)
2. is it possible to overlock default kernel which shipped with CM9.1?
3. is there any kernel which already overlocked and definitely compatible with CM9.1?
Faux v008 kernel is not compatible with AOSP roms.
1. Flash the zip file without wiping.
2. Its in the settings. Scroll down for performance and then processor
3. You can try Tamcore kernel. http://files.tamcore.eu/android/

for 2. you can't overclock the stock cm9/cm9.1 kernel...

Doesn't same CM9.1 zip is flashed both to Sensation and Sensation XE? Does it mean that XE also has 1.2MHz with stock CM9? Or there is some additional info (about default clock/voltage settings) somewhere out of ROM (in EEPROM?)?

Thanks a lot! I've installed it and now USB storage has been fixed.
Performance of TamCore is not so good as on Faux, but in principle not so bad (much better than stock one): overlocked CPU (up to 1.52MHz) and GPU (3D up to 320MHz, 2D up to 266MHz ), enabled ZRAM, and badass ('balanced' plan).
Quadrant score:
TamCore: ~2800
Faux: >3100
stock kernel: ~2200
Anyone recommend a good combination of undervolt settings for the Semaphore 2.9.9 kernel for my Cappy on 10.1 4.2.2?
Let's post here best battery life combos. It may be very useful to those who can't decide what custom rom or/and kernel to flash .

Well... my Kernel/ROM combination may not be the best battery life, but i love it.
ROM: WanamLITE v1.5
Kernel: Perseus ALPHA v3.4
A clean ROM with samsung features still apparent. Kernel has overclock and sound tweaks available. Battery life is slightly enhanced due to lack of bloatware.
** Note ** Camera firmware fix will need to be flashed..
Hello everyone, I have a question about 2 kernel for stock rom. Given that use Xposed Framework, which kernel is best for compatibility, optimization, battery life, performance and functions between AeroKernel (user Blechd0se XDA) and Hybrid kernel (faux123 XDA user)?
with faux's kernel i got about 2% battery drain in 10 hours of stand by and awesome performance but it doesn't support 4.4.3 yet (at least i got bootloop when i flashed it), i don't know about the other one
Hi, just wondering why does any cm rom/kernel that I flashed doesn't contain settings for Motorola tpa6165 amplifier in fauxsound. While in stock rom,the option was there. Eventhough both kernel have the same faux sound driver. The same also happened with aero kernel in cm. But in stock it is there.
I would like to know if it's possible to add it to cm11 based rom too. It's not a kernels' problem but cm11 based roms'.
