First boot after flashing always takes longer to boot. But it reaches the bootscreen even then. Did you wipe data as well?

Hello. If you have one of the newer Xperia E's, your phone might start freezing at the boot screen and rebooting. Here is a fix for that.
1. Get the following:
Flashtool by androxyde
Stock ROM for your phone (in this case, Xperia E)
Fastboot
Windows 7 or below (if you have Windows 8 or 8.1, THE GUIDE WILL NOT WORK. Get a 7 PC from your friend or something)
2. Unlock the bootloader using this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335741 Your phone will go into bootloop.
3. Take out the battery (this is the hard part) and put it back in.
4. Hold the Volume Down (Vol-) button on your phone and plug it into your PC.
5. Launch Flashtool, click the button called “BLU”. Wait for a dialog box to load, and when it does, click “Relock bootloader”.
6. Do step 5 again, but this time click “Unlock”.
7. Click the lightning icon, select “Flashmode”, then flash your stock ROM.
And, somehow, your Xperia E will boot back to normal, the only difference being that your bootloader is now unlocked! (You did backup the DRM keys, right?)
Hit Thanks if helped.
It will be useful for new guys.

Your phone cannot be bootloader unlocked officially... your best hope is to find an FTF for your phone and flash it.

There is no guarantee you won't get bootloops or bricks, but if you do, you can usually flash an FTF file from Flashtool to restore it.
Do you have a download link for Flashtool?

Worked Smoothly...!
Thanks for tutorial.. Just in case for all other Newbies who are venturing into Custom ROM installation and end my in this stage..
These are the latest specifications with which the tutrorial works.
This tutorial is still valid in 2020!
Works on windows 10, Used flashtool64.exe
any good charger cable(preferebly orignal cable) suits better for flashing
It worked on my Xperia E3 d2202 . To switch off the creen stuck on SONY logo, you can remove the back cover and Look n press on a small hole near the SIM card slot. No need to remove the Battery!
Cheers!
well i am a newbiee, i first rooted my phone, installed the stock rom with phantom kernel and then updated to omni rom 4.4.1 , but it was ustable. it would frequent shut off and show that it was collecting crash data, i switched off my midway. and then tried flashing stock rom, tried various combination without excluding 'system' in flash tool.
now my phone gets connected only in flash mode and when try to do some thing it gives me this error
18/031/2014 18:31:35 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MINOR";ERR_CODE="0017";ERR_DYNAMIC="0x80060011 "
my phone is not turning on nor is it going into fastboot, please please help me!!
Fix
1 Try using ADB to flash the Stock Rom
If that didn't work
Try using Emma (Official flashtool for Xperia Devices) - You can find the tool in xda. OR http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/how-to-download-and-install-the-flash-tool/
SOME OTHER USERS EVEN REPORTED THAT A CHANGE OF PC AND USB CABLE USED SOLVED THE PROBLEM
IF ALL FAILS

Hi all,
I recently bricked (i think) my Sony Miro.
I have CWM based Recovery V6.0.2.8 installed. I was running the CM10...but there was something wrong, everytime i finish a call, the phone would reboot.
SO i decided to flash it back to the stock Sony Rom 11.0.a.5.8 ...i placed the zip file on the root of the sd card, rebooted the phone into the CWM recovery app and then wiped the factory settings / dalvik cache...and installed the stock rom. it looked like the flashing was successfull ( it said so on the screen)...then i rebooted the phone
It first shows the FREE XPERIA logo...then shows the stock battery icon and then just stays there......if i press the power button the battery icon dissappears ...if i press it again, it comes back on again....it does not move forward from here.
Any help is appreciated ! pleaese help !!!
Cheers guys !

Try this process multiple times, if your device is detected through Flashtool then it could be repaired through Flashtool.
Generally this Error is shown when either the device is not connected properly in Flash mode or the .ftf u are flashing is of another device. So take care of both the issues.

THanks mate..i flashed it as you suggested and loaded the ultra beast firmware with the relevant gapps...it works like a charm now !
The device just keeps rebooting endlessly, I flashed moonbreaker rom and when rebooting the device this happened.
No idea what to do to resolve it, please can someone assist me, the device is completley unsuable. Only option is to return it and hope for a new one I'm guessing?
It would be better if you asked in respective ROM thread ,not opening a new one, just sayin..
You can either :
- enter recovery, flash disable exposed zip,you can find in moonbreaker thread, and see if it solved it.
- clean flash prerooted rom ,you can find one in general section
If all fails, you can enter fastboot mode and flash ftf via flashtool or even try with PC Companion if everything else fails. There should be a repair option within PC companion, haven't used it though, but you should find it easily.
I went into twrp and factory reset the phone and it is still broken! i really need someone to help me im very stuck here!!!
Can you report the exact steps you took prior to this happening? Which files you flashed and in what order? Also which version of the Z3 do you own?
Have you tried restoring a nandroid if you made one?
If your boot loader is locked you can just repair with pc companion.
Hi, I'm a noob to this site and is my last call of action ive tried everything to get my phone working but I'm at a lost end now and getting frustrated.
If anyone can help me with my problem it will be much appreciated and a lot of pressure taken off me. to start with I towel rooted my xperia sp (c5303) which gave me root. I then installed a recovery called philz which worked great. installed lollipop all fine booted up but no data signal bar had explanation mark. I tried the data fix through recovery did not work so I thought il flash my device again to see if it rectifies my problem so I deleted all data cache delvic cache chose the file off sd card that I previously used but this time I got an error. and the phone just restarted . so I assume there is nothing on my phone now no firmware as it turns on comes up with the sony logo but hangs after a minute or so my phone turns its self off. I plug my phone into pc usb and the lightbar turns green at the bottom then after 40 seconds goes red with the sony logo again then after a minute reboots to green and so on in a boot loop state. I have tried flashing my phone to stock with flashtools but it gets so far then gives error that I don't have usb debugging and unknown sources enabled. I cant have them enabled as I cant access my phone. I have gone into flash tool drivers folder downloaded flashmode drivers and fastboot and viskan board it starts to install them comes up with welcome to device driver installation . sony(winusb) says failed. Google inc (winusb) says failed sony ericsson mobile communication says failed I assume it cant see my phone. I just don't understand what to do next.
If any body has had this problem could you please shed a little light, Thanks for taking time out to read this.
