I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 from AT&T. Every time I flash a recovery and try to immediately boot to it (per many instructions), my tablet gives me a black screen. Do you have any suggestions? I tried the TWRP and CWM for p5100 (I assume that's what I have).

Flash a stock rom for your specif8c device model, reference here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722745
Try to booting download mode and in cwm, select data reset. Reboot and see if you can get it to boot now. Note this will delete all installed apps and data

You have a couple of options, try doing a factory reset through CWM like uberNoobZA said, but if that doesn't work you may just have to flash a new ROM.
You can flash one of the custom ROMs available for Galaxy Tab 2 through CWM, or you can flash a completely stock ROM via Odin.
Be aware that if you flash a stock ROM via Odin you are going to lose CWM and the stock Samsung recovery will be flashed in its place.
I think you should try out one of the custom ROMs first, because most of them are much more usable than any stock ROM Samsung has released so far xD
EDIT: If you are dead set on keeping your current ROM, try doing a nandroid backup and then restoring that nandroid backup in CWM. This worked for me once on a Samsung Galaxy S that wasn't booting ^_^
I tried to flash cm 10.1.3 on my p5110 and it said that it completed but when i reboot the tablet shuts of but does not turn back on automatically. i have to manually turn it on and when i do it only goes back to the cwm recovery screen. i even tries the twrp recovery and flashed the stock rom using odin but all with the same results!!
Update: after flashing stock rom in Odin, it now says NO COMMAND in the android recovery boot
Hello all,
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8013
stock firmware 4.1.2
custom recovery TWRP
rooted
I try to boot up the tablet and it gets stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 boot screen. I try to enter recovery, but the TWRP splash screen flashes quickly and the tablet reboots itself. I can only go into Odin mode. I've tried flashing everything, but no success. Odin tells me that it was successful, but once it reboots, it still gets stuck at that Galaxy Note screen. I've tried flashing different recoveries, flashing the most recent recovery, firmware, using different Odin versions, re-installing the drivers a countless amount of times with no luck. I try to get into ADB mode, but it doesn't show up either. I would just be happy to get my recovery or adb again so I can flash it properly. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

When you boot into twrp don't hold vol up + power + home too long. Just hold it till you see the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 splash screen and it will do the job

Hi,
have you tried Philz touch? I had a few problems with TWRP, too. Also make sure you are really using the right version for your device.
My tablet n8000 from some hours reboot always on write Samsung galaxy note 10.1. I have tried to go to recovery but don't go, only Download Mode works. I have tried flash firmware with odin but don't work, i have tried flassh twrp recovery but when i do power+volumUp tablet show me android robot for 1 or 2 second but then it block and reboot again....before i had stock rom android and i had root, i don't remember if i hade stock or twrp recovery..........what i can do?
Odin fail is what ???
I am trying to recover my NOTE 10.1 (GT-N8010) tablet without success.
It was working fine, but i went into recovery mode erased all cache and factory reset while in recovery mode and now the tablet wont boot up.
I have rebooted into ODIN MODE and flashed CF)AUTO_ROOT file for my tablet. It is now rooted (i think).
I then flashed TWRP and CWM many many times but it just WONT go into recovery mode. (POWER AND VOLUME UP). It just sticks on the SAMSUNG LOGO.
I have waited 2 hours and downloaded an official ROM and tried to flash through ODIN but ODIN always crashes saying its stopped working. It ONLY does this for ROMS i download (original or non original). It seems you cannot flash roms using ODIN to this tablet.
Right now im UNABLE to enter recovery mode and the tablet just stuck on the samsung logo.
Helpp????
