Ok so I have a Droid 2 Global, It was my wife's old phone. When I found it in storage it booted up fine and worked great for a few days but then it just turned off and I cannot get it to boot, enter recovery, or enter bootloader. It was rooted but I am not sure with what or on what OS. I have tested the battery it is good and has a full charge, when i try to go into bootloader the screen flashes and goes blank. When I try to enter recovery nothing happens and when I try to boot nothing happens. I cannot get the computer to recognize the phone at all. HELP.

To get to bootloader, you are holding both volume buttons then pressing power?

well i had trouble installing the trickroid v7 on my [S3] and it will say OS not installed.
then after many tries, of pulling the usb in and out and restarting several times to bootlocker
I cannot open to bootlocker anymore and the phone seems to died and not be able to charge.
WHEN I HOLD POWER button and volume down, all 3 soft touch keys lit up for 6~7 seconds, then the the black screen flashes a green line and off.
I cannot connect to the computer through usb either, for some reason.
i have the same problem.my phone worked fine, i unlocked bootloader, installed recovery and rooted. yesterday i put my phone on charging and today it was dead??? it flashes 7 times while holding vol down + power and then nothing happens.
EDIT:
i got it working!!! i connected it to pc, run adb command: adb reboot-bootloader and i got bootloader menu, after that i went into recovery and i did factory defaults and rebooted phone, now it's charging and everything is OK!

man.. i know i can fix it... but i cant connect to the damn pc. it unable to detect it... !!!
this is what i have done and got it working. connect phone to pc that has installed htc drivers, hold down volume down button + power, phone flashes 7 times and orange led is working now. after that go to adb, type adb devices and my phone serial number was shown. after that i did the adb reboot-bootloader and my phone was alive again.
p.s. i tried also with HTC One S All-In-One Toolkit V1.1,before i made it, to send command, but phone led only show orange light and again went off. u can give a try.... if that dont work, then i think phone is dead and ready for repair :/
I just rooted my One S using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2008440. I flashed Clockworkmod touch recovery and installed the latest CM10 Nightly. I ended up installing the standard Clockworkmod recovery (non touch) through ROM manager once my phone was up and running. Everything on my phone was working great until I let my battery run all the way down to the point my phone shut off. I plugged my phone in and it automatically booted to recovery. I waited a little bit for the phone to charge and selected "reboot system now" from recovery. My phone did not boot and only goes to recovery. When it reboots, it briefly flashes a green stripe twice in the upper third of the screen prior to booting all the way but never shows the HTC screen or anything other than recovery. I tried reflashing the ROM in recovery, formatting every partition in recovery, entering fasboot using ADB, rebooting using ADB, and nothing seems to get my phone to do anything other than boot to recovery. I tried running the latest RUU and it fails (presumably because it can't enter fasboot). I tried pressing and holding volume+, -, and the power button at the same time, I tried holding just the volume down button while holding the power button, but no luck so far.
Is there a way to reflash the recovery from ADB while the phone is in recovery? Is there any other way I can force my phone into fastboot? Can I safely use the method in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1990043 to "unbrick" my phone by entering commands via ADB shell while in recovery rather than in terminal emulator? Thanks in advance for all the collective XDA wisdom that I'm sure will help get my phone back up and running.
Hey I had the same problem about a week ago. Are you sure you used the latest the RUU file?

I'm using RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_TMOUS_2.35.531.7_Radio_1.08ts.50.02.16_10.08e.50.04L_release_279577_signed.exe. I don't think it would matter which one I used though because it gives me an error that says it can't connect to the phone.
Try holding down the power button for 10 sec and then let go of the power and hold down the volume button. I had to do this a couple of times until I finally got into the bootloader

Amazing! That did the trick. Thanks a ton for that info. I knew it would be something simple.
I also had a similar problem. Seemed to occur only when I had the USB cable plugged into the phone. Once I removed it, I could then get into fastboot. Once I was in fastboot, I simply plugged the USB cable back in, and everything worked flawlessly.
All that crap you got wouldn't have happened if you use TWRP instead of CWM.
Background Information:
Droid MAXX (XT1080)
Rooted
Write Protection - Off
Safestrap
Ok so I rooted my phone and turned write protection off and yesterday I couldn't get touchless control to train for the life of me so I decided to boot into safestrap this morning and I fixed permissions and then went to do a factory reset and selected format /system wihthout thinking about it...
Now all my phone does is turn on and stay at the blue Motorola logo...
So I tried to fastboot and rsdlite but neither will see the phone so I tried to adb devices -l and that won't see the phone either.
So any ideas on what I can do or did I hard brick my phone since write protection is off.
Thanks,
Ryan

Adb won't work unless you're booted to the OS. You need to boot into your bootloader. With vol off press and hold vol down and pwr for about 5 sec then release. This will get you into bootloader where you can use fastboot, rsd, and such.

Yeah I tried booting into fastboot along with loading it into rsdlite but it didn't see the device since it wasn't really booting past the motorola logo. :/
If you are properly booting to the bootloader you should never see the moto logo.
Try this exactly (when the phone is stuck on the M):
1. Press Power and Vol - at the same time until the screen turns off
2. release power button once screen turns off, continue holding vol -
you should now be in the bootloader screen. Try it a couple of times if it doesnt work... I had this happen once or twice and it was a ***** to get the phone into the bootloader.

With all due respect, you must be doing something wrong or perhaps messing up some of the terminology. By following the steps I stated above it will boot your phone to the bootloader. It will say AP Fastboot mode at the top of the screen. And some other things. Then below that it will have your options in blue...normal power up, recovery, barcode...etc. Getting to that screen does not show the boot logo (in your case the Motorola logo) You also said you tried loading it into rsd. Well rsd won't work unless you're in fastboot mode ( the screen I mentioned above.)

Yeah I have been in the AP Fastboot mode plenty of times before with this phone and it's not working this time I have tried numerous times this morning. With the Write protection - off I'm assuming when I formatted the /System /data /Cache partitions it messed everything up...
I submitted a claim (my phone was stolen) and will be getting a replacement tomorrow.
I recently broke the screen and the touchscreen of my OPO and bought a new Glass+LCD+Digitizer+Middle Frame from Aliexpress. I just installed all the parts and afterwards my OPO booted happily into recovery. Touchscreen and Display etc are working fine. I wiped everything via TWRP 2.8.7.0 and wanted to do a clean install of CM12.1. But no matter what I do now, the phone always(!) boots directly into recovery mode. I can't even get into fastboot! I already tried all sorts of things.. any ideas?

If I power off my phone and plug it into the computer it immediately turns on. If I leave it plugged in and then shut it off via recovery, it reboots instead of turning off. Only if I unplug it from the computer, I can shut it off. So I'm afraid this link won't work for me

did you press and hold volume up when plugging it to the computer?
Yes I tried everything. It will only boot in recovery.
brah it will work. i was in same situation. it fixed my phone. try it.
I managed to do the whole "unbrick" process... now my recovery looks a little bit different but I still can't get into the bootloader!
When I boot up the phone, a split second before it enters recovery mode this picture shows up. The recovery is now stock CM recovery. ADB now doesn't work either..
TWRP has an option to reboot to bootloader. Did you try that as well?
Yes, I did. It booted into recovery...

When you connect your phone to your PC while it's in recovery does it show up as a drive?

No, it doesn't. However if go into the "install update via adb sideload" option in the recovery, the phone gets recognized as A0001, but the driver on my PC doesn't work. ADB doesn't work either in this case.

I did it with color OS, and now the phone always boots into ColorOS recovery I replaced the ColorOS recovery.img with the TWRP one, and now i got TWRP and ADB back. Phone gets recognized as SD Card now. Could it be that something on the hardware side of things broke my bootloader?
Please help

Well its possible, that one of the volume butten is pressed permanent(that u even don't take notice) due bad hardware and replacement. Therefore, the device would only boot into recovery, no matter what u try. Take a voltmeter and check the buttons.
BTW: stop using these dirty "toolbox" around here, they are pure cancer for your device
Hey, thanks for your reply. The volume down button being permanently pressed was actually the case! I found out myself and fixed it by soldering a new volume flex cable. Phone works fine again
Hello Guys,
My OnePlus One screen broke, it was in my drawer for more than 15 days without charge, i connected charger for 1 hour it just went from 1% to 5% but i didnt thought much about it as my priority was to change screen, i bought touch+lcd with frame and replaced it myself, but it wasnt powering up then i tried putting the backpanel on, it then booted up to the home screen, but the battery indicator wasnt moving up i powered off the phone after that it never turned on, i researched a bit and found out the after long period of time if you dont charge your phone might have problem charging and there was one suggestion which i followed and that was charge OPO using usb cable attached to PC, i left it for somewhat 7hours and it powered on i thought it might be the problem of ROM i flashed official H2OS (regret selecting this rom) using TWRP, it was a catastrophe my phone wont Enter Bootloader or Recovery, and wont even boot to system, it seemed i hardbricked my device, i used Oneplus one recovery tool 64GB to bring my device to life but after that no matter what i do my device wont enter to bootloader as the volume up button stopped working too : tried advance reboot, powerup+volumeup, opo toolkit.
Help me, i want to root my device and unlock bootloader once again.

Is your volume up button actually broken or does it still work and can you boot into something? If it still works (hold on, this idea might be a little crazy xD) you could try completely hard bricking (no joke! you cannot get into Qualcomm download mode with a booting device) and restoring it with the msm8974downloadtool from the oneplus one unbricking guide which should theoretically fix everything that is wrong.

Even If my volume button dosent work then why wont it enter bootloader via advance reboot it just restarts to system after selecting reboot to bootloader,so i should hard brick my device once again, P.S. i have done that twice before though.
