Im trying to flash cwm on my galaxy s5 using jodin for mac. When I try to flash it, it says "no PIT file found" I cant seem to get around this!! Is there any way to fix this, why does this message come up?
Hi there,
I'd suggest asking your question in the JOdin3 thread here: [Release] JOdin3 CASUAL Cross Platform and Web-Based Flashing For Samsung Phones
There is also a Troubleshooting Guide in the OP that says it should solve most problems, so I'd take a look at that!

Let me first explain the thought process that went on before this all happened:
I wanted to stream my Spotify from Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5100 to my smart TV via BubbleUPNP. But I couldn't do this for a number of reasons: my tablet wasn't a rooted device or running Android 4.1+ or had the Xposed framework. So I set to work trying to root my device and upgrade it to 4.1 in the process.
I used Odin to root my device and install the Xposed framework. This all went very smoothly and was impressed.
But the biggest error of all came when I tried to upgrade my Android version by Odin to about 4.1
+.
I managed to get what I thought was the correct ".tar" file. But part way through I was faced with an error message saying "firmware upgrade encountered an issue" so I tried using Samsungs own "Kies" to recover my device. But I soon found out this would be no help because "gt-p5100 does not support initializing." so this application was useless. I then done a bit more digging around on the internet and found out that I can simply restore my device with the correct file on Odin again.
I don't quite know exactly what happened next but I'm presuming I made a ridiculously stupid error and downloaded and loaded the wrong file onto my device. My device now thinks it's a 7" "GT-P3100."
With the tablet being completely useless because the touch screen no longer works because of the confusion between the models and I cannot find the correct files to load onto Odin for it to work either, mainly because I've given up on things to even search.
I am asking this because I've tried for hours with no luck and need help restoring my tablet back to a "GT-5100" so I can then root it on Odin and upgrade the OS to 4.1+.
Please also note I could not simply upgrade my OS by going into setting/about device/etc.
I can see how this stupidity can being funny to others but my simple accident has cost me dearly and I would appreciate some help from other.
Thanks,
Mike.
Hi,
Normally flashing firmware from another device that's not yours is a brick, especially with Samsung.... But hopefully because it's another tab 2 firmware, you can fix yours. But definitely exercise caution in the future.
The place most are getting Samsung firmware, especially older models is sammobile website.
Other than that, any links I found on XDA for it are dead.
You obviously know how to flash with Odin, so try sammobile and find your correct firmware.
If you have further issues, you should ask for help in your device section, here,
> Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 > Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
Okay I was worried it could be bricked, but if I managed to get an error message on an install to then be able to simply change the model with the wrong file, I hoped I could almost mess up an install to get back to that stage to then be able to completely re-install my original correct files.
Thank you I will try Sammobile. I think that might've even been where I got the wrong file from in the first place.
Thanks a lot for your reply it fills me with hope knowing there might be a way to rectify my mistake.
Hi there i'm a noob with the GT-i8550l (Samsung Galaxy Win) and i have a few questions:

Hi, so I am on a Galaxy S5 16gb running lollipop 5.0 through sprint. Im not too in this scene but Ive known enough to successfully root and unroot several other phones without.any problems. I successfully rooted my S5 using Cf auto root and everything was perfect until I tried flashing a .zip file for xposed installer through recovery. Ever since my phone wont go.past the samsung logo on start up. I am able to still access download and recovery mode. Every time on odin I try to flash the stock firmware (ive tried three.different ones) it ends up saying " nand write start fail" then "complete write operation failed". This is stressimg me out hardcore and im completely unsure of what I need to do. Much help needed.

I have a SM-G530T. What I need is the PIT file for this model of Galaxy Grand Prime.
Its in a bootloop at the logo screen. When trying to fix in odin using the stock rom 5.1.1
I get the error message "Fail" in Odin at the system.img.ext4 stage.
Ive been looking for days for the download file. Google lists sites that have it but cant find it on their sites.
Could someone help or maybe suggest another way to fix my phone.
I truly appreciate your time.

although this is not your model, these guys seem helpful in finding some pits.
also, this guy seems to know how to pull it. if you could find someone currently posting with your model, maybe you could sweet talk them into pulling it for you
thank you

Hi everyone. I'm a total newbie to rooting. Hoping someone can help with my little problem.
I have a Samsung A13 I'm trying to root. So far I've been trying to follow this YouTube guide.
I've followed the guide as far as I can, and I have patched the AP file using Magisk. But they use ODIN, and I'm trying to use Heimdall.
My problem is that some of the files listed in the PIT are missing. So when I try to use Heimdall to flash my device I am missing the required files.
My missing files are:
pgpt.img
md5.img
efs.img
sec_efs.img
steady.bin
uh.bin
vbmeta_vendor.img
spu.img
sgpt.img
Can anyone advise me on what to do?
Thanks

I never did find those missing files.
Clearly Heimdall was not flashing correctly on my device, because it was taking an unrealistically short time to flash 5GB. And at the end of flashing it left me in a blue screen update error bricked state, or a boot loop.
I just gave up on Heimdall and used Odin instead, which was much simpler to do the flashing.
