Charge your mobile for about 2 hrs and then reboot . It will take a lot of time for first startup for initialising apps . So be patient and wait for 20 mins at bootanimation . I don't think this might help for you but try it..:good:

but i hadn't backed up before. will it loose the data in the sdcard0 folder and if i back up through the recovery, will it help in getting my data back

So i installed a font on my phone last night, restarted it. And when it booted back up i was missing the phone.apk It is not longer in my app draw and no longer in the application list. Tried browsing to the system/app folder and re-install the phone.apk. It says it has been installed but will not show
Also tried to go around and click on someones name in the messaging app and when i do that the app just force closes.
Any thoughts besides wiping data and reflashing?

Did you install some app / did you specifically remember doing something before this boot loop started ?
However the best thing to do would be to give it to the Samsung Service Center.

This could help boot your device:
- Switch off the device.
- Enter into recovery mode by pressing HOME + VOLUME UP + POWER BUTTON.
- Then clear the Cache partition & reboot.
If the handset still doesn't boot then you have two options:
- Take it directly to a service center.
- If you think you can then flash the stock ROM released for your country.
Do update here if it resolves your problem.
I think flashing the stock Rom again would help you solve some weird issues. Sometimes it works but I just don't know why.

Nah , a cache wipe should fix this my sister's R's cache is always vulnerable , almost always needing a cache wipe every few months

Yea...maybe you're right. Every time I flash Rom I wipe cache and data...but never wipe cache only. I'll give it a shot next time.

Remove SIM SD card and try to boot now. Keep the phone on for sometime and then insert it back. It sounds weird but this resolved for many.

BTW could you list of games, where encountered such problem ??
I also started having the same problem while playing games. and later the problem increased so much much that i started having random shutdown problem..
so IMO, i would say resolve it by wipe cache,factory reset, wipe cache partition and flash stock ROM / NEO ROM.
If these things couldnt resolve, get it to SSC asap..
Do update the progress..
BTW, please change the title of the thread to 'Shutdown while playing games'

You can try booting in to stock recovery mode and try clearing wipe factory and cache partition..
However i would recomend to flash CWM and wipe thru it.....

Yes. Stock recovery mode is always a part of the ROM.
you can consider CWM, as by flashing it, it always sits upon your stock Recovery mode.
and CWM has more options as compared with stock recovery mode...

I am from India ihad gone to SSC which was nearest to my house
I get these annoying pop up notifications about nfc not working and other stuff and certain apps freeze for a sec then start up again. I have the screen shots that i will attach. I used the new method on this site after i got the stock JB update from VZ OTA.
Also, im a noob even though i got this done using VM and a cracked version of windows xp.
Please help!!!

I take it you are running a custom recovery? Boot into it and clear your cache and dalvik cache and then fix permissions. Usually force closes are permission issues. If it doesn't fix it maybe a factory reset? If that don't do anything either then just flash the JB rooted image with odin from here

how long does it normally take to fix permissions? its been doing it for 5 mins and it almost seems frozen and this is my 2nd attempt. i took out the battery and tried again. what should i do now?

Download that stock rooted JB image I linked to and flash it with odin. If you don't know how to use odin follow step 5 in this guide. Fixing permissions should only take a couple mins tops on a stock rom so something is probably corrupted and causing issues.

it says vmware-host\shared folders\desktop\root files\root66 file ..... then all these special characters that look like boxes
i tried running a different launcher, and they work a lil better but touchwiz is by far superior but i still get the nfc stopped message and everything is much slower

by flashing you mean formatting? why would that do anything when it didnt do much the first time?

The full wipe, you have to do when flash the original firmware,for Exynos Bug Fix, then do the root and then my rom!:good:

hi there, regarding the abyss kernel, im using the default setting, but my phone seems like turning off automatically ( the led still flashing, only black screen) once every after full charge. I have to press the power button to turn it back on.
do you know what might be the problem ? or maybe the correct settings other than defaults? thanks. been reading the angelo thread in the nss forum but im still clueless , lol

Strange. When you get it, but it should not, if you left everything default, hold for ten seconds, the power button.Or change kernel!

My note 4 (SM-N910G) had a null/null IMEI for some reason. then i try flashing a different stock firmware using odin hoping to fix the IMEI problem but then...after flashing the firmware my phone got stuck on Optimizing app (without it finishing optimizing) and my phone rebooted...the process repeat it self and yes i did try different firmware.
is anyone facing this problem? I NEED HELP PLZZ :crying:

Thnx for the rply dude, but i already wipe data and caches and still nothing happen. my phone just boot and go to optimizing app without finishing optimizing (ex: Optimizing app 8 of 17 ) and then my phone rebooted and repeat.
Then u installed modem not compatible with bootloader mate & probably ur firmware not installed the modem correctly because of we want to install modem on older bootloader ur issues what will happened & infinite bootloop mate try with firmware & its better if u find fw with 4 or 5 files try to search on xda & also on google ok ..
