What are the best setting configurations in No Frill CPU Control App for Galaxy Core i8262?
PS: Keeping battery saving and performance in mind. Thank You.
That's depends on how you using your core .
Press thanks if I'm helping .

Hey guys.. So I've seen 2 kernels that claim overclock.. One is for 800MHz, and the other is for 1.3GHz(or something)...
But some people have been reffering to these as fake..
So, my question is :
1) How were these achieved(if real)??
2) How were these faked(if not real)??
Is it something like editing a 'build.prop' file to show a different version of android??
I've found some references relating to overclocking in the ICS/JB 2.xx kernel source..
So I'd like to know how the 2 already available overclocks were done/faked... :good:
take a look at this , you have to add oc clock frequencies and enable oc ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26929519&postcount=24
1.3Ghz...seriously...yeah i saw it in youtube too but if its real then he will have to buy a new phone as his cpu will be a barbecue toast soon.
besides the life of cpu also depends on binning , fabrication etc..so few cpu's can handle OC but few cannot
Yeah sure man over clocking is possible with kernel modification but there is only considerable change in our phone performance but some people made a video on YouTube like playing high HD games in their phone after over clocking but these games are running under normal CPU speed itself those videos alone fake.
Really they archived not a fake one..
But over clocking surely spoil our device because the heat sink system designed for working under that temperature only ,
over heating will spoil our devices soon.
I hope u got , why all saying it will spoil our device..
I hope the above information will help u...

Explained nicely... Thanks.. I dnt wanna overclock.. Just wanna know how they were done.. Cleared things up..
use set cpu app ....and try it ur urself ...im warning u it is harmful for ur device ...
Underclock
Hai here one more information for u..
Overclock is not recommended but UnderClock will increase Ur batter life man under on deman CPU governance. Set ur CPU minimum overclock to as possible as low..

Setting the max speed to 480 will reduce Ur phones performance.Setting minimum speed at 122Hz will make u phone to run at 122Hz when ever u are not in need of that much CPU processing but i will automatically adjust the speed as Ur process need..

As all the dual core devices eats as much battery, Micromax Canvas 2 A110 is one of them. So by disabling one core you save more!!
Here is a link..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091936
Or you can directly download it from here... its on play store!! But use at own risk, with precaution!..

Good for those who don't play heavy/HD Games and want best battery backup...
Hit thanks if i helped!

i think it is by default i am saying this because when u download any cpu control app like no frills cpu control the default governor is hybrid and hybrid starts the second core when the 1 core get overload so no need of this app !

Agree with you.. but when phn is ideal many backgroud running apps unnecessary consuming both cores. So there it helps..

Hi guys!
I have now confirmed through the cpuz app and antutu , that the power saving mode only uses a7 cores (not more than 1200mhz) and leaves the a15 unused no matter what the CPU requirement is.
This experiment was done in the latest MEA firmware for i9500.
I have also figured out that there is some CPU throttling going on with the latest firmware when the temp reaches 50, the a15 cores were not used in the antutu benchmark. This is also why I got an extremely low score of 22000 and then got 17000 in the second test as the CPU was heated. As soon as the CPU cooled down to 40, the cpuz app again showed all cores reaching 1600mhz when running the test in background.
These are my own findings and I apologize if this is known to everyone because I certainly didn't know that.

Thanks mate, I didnt know this either! Good find :good:
not just in powersave mode. I have the same results with power save off
Does this mean essentially only the A7 cores are ever used?

Try running the antutu app test in background and start the cpuz app. Look for change in the CPU clock. Are you sure it doesn't show anything more than 1200mhz?

No.
A7 is used dominantly because many conventional software tasks do not need the muscle of the A15.
There are other issues as well... just give the ROMs time to improve.

there are no such throttles at 50 C, but the boost mode is disabled by default it seems i can see antutu topping at 1.4 ghz not more than that..
I got 26764 in antutu using power saving mode. The highest freq used when running antutu is 1400 (check using cpu spy).
After checking whatsapp and xda app, I check freq 1600 is also used. So it is not limited to A7 in power saving mode.
Note: I use perseus 2.1 and MEA.

Can you please tell us more about the boost mode?

it does show more that 1200mhz for a second or two on the first test . The cpu gets instantly throttled though (as the temp rises).
Then subsequent tests show 1200 or less.
To answer my own question, yes this does meant essentially only the A7 cores get used. Because any sort of load on the A15 causes a temp rise, which causes an auto throttle down to the A7.
Even if you fix the minimum cpu speed to be > 1200, the rom disregards youw minimum and drops lower. E. g. I fixed the minimum to 1300, ran antutu (The results were significantly better than the stock cpu settings) however near the end of the test the cpu was auto clocked down to 1000 and stayed there on any subsequent antutu tests.

samsung uses boost mode to increase throttle temp limit from 90 c to 100c in order to stay longer at higher clocks for better bench scores, when the boost mode is disabled the clock speeds will start reducing by 200mhz steps when the temp touches 90c.
Bala Gamer you know any program can log the temp while playing or bench?

Hello guys,
Is it important to use it or not? Im using greenify and i think when i enable the energy saver mode that my battery go faster down as normal. Anyway what is this zygote which shows in the CPU-List?

oh no:fingers-crossed:
greenify just pushes apps which is standing-by to sleep. if u want to really save energy, try setCpu (requires root)
if u use greenify, the energy saved is not so significant;
but if setCpu, u will see the difference!!
energy saving is quite important because it can extend your battery's life!
hope i can help you!

In fact it generally don't hurt your phone... it requires root and will just set the frequency of the cpu.
You can choose the frequency for your phone for different situations, like:
performance - when using apps that consumes many ram
ondemand - auto change the frequency, it will decide which governor is best for the time
powersave - save energy.
You can find the descriptions in the setCpu app, which is very informative and descriptive! ^^
Hope this helps!!
So I have had this for about two days well the first day it got really hot around the camera an topper screen portion so hot holding just was a no an it was just doing normal task no apps installed just browsing so I factory reset it an that helped but not completely
So I then rooted to see if I could change kernel settings well it looks like my cores are almost always running at max speed so I downloaded kernel auditor to change setting an that still always want to go to maximum clock speed so I so I lowered it an it was still just at maximum 90% of the time So I disabled some cores bringing cpu temp down to around 94/96 degrees Fahrenheit is this normal or is it just me
Sorry for scrub questions I only had a s4 before this which was much less complicated
Thanks in advance sorry if I was confusing
Maybe there are some app running in background..try checking the usage manager, ..using bloatware tool also helping it to cool down
tryed it

Tried safe mode an deleted a lot of bloat an it's just almost always like this except when screen off
Can you post screen shot of kernel auditor's frequency table? both of them..bigLittle
For me it was a circle case widget which was causing it to heat up. I used CPU monitor and found it. Closed that and it is fine since.

So I was looking an it won't let me list the screen shot but the little cores seem to push pass the limit just by touching the screen it will raise the maximum an minimum to 1248 then when I'm not settings go to normal
so that happened

Okit wouldn't let me add the picture so here's a link Screenshot_2015-08-14-10-32-17.png - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1amLS5fOK4ONUdVbk1UZEhRbDg/view?usp=docslist_api
I also have problems as above and unresolved
I've been playing with kernel settings for a week now
so far i've noticed something regarding battery life (SOT) and its temperature
If i set big cpu to ondemand and LITTLE to interactive(default) the battery life stays much longer but the phone feel hot..
then if i set big to interactive and LITTLE to ondemand, the phone itself doesn't heat much but the battery life became poor..
and if you noticed, big cpu seldoms reach more than 384mhz..that's most of the time it stays in lowest of it frequency table
Maybe we can experimenting it together and discuss about it here
