Last night I got a software update for my HTC One Mini ( Att branded ) and it somehow bricked it. I tried to manually flash the ROM but I keep getting error 99, and it says security fail and update fail. I have tried to s-off, when updating it went back to s-on when I had previously s-off'd the device. But what ever I do fails. Was wondering if there is any way of recovering the information off of the device or if I am completely screwed. Or even getting the device back to working condition.
does it boot into bootloader? If you can get it into fastboot and execute fastboot commands over USB, there will always be a way to unbrick your device

Hi Guys,
I have my HTC with unlocked bootloader and rooted. I unrooted the stock rom by using the facility in supersu. This successfully unrooted it. also i flashed recovery.img. Now the issue is, my phone isnt being detected with adb and hence i can no longer root it. Also it bootloops in recovery which i cannot go into to install the backed-up rooted stock rom.
Any idea how to go about this?
If you want to return to stock unrooted just lock the bootloader via fastboot and install the ruu for your device.
boot into bootloader, run "fastboot oem lock", then run the ruu afterwards

+1. The RUU program is a .exe file (windows only, I believe) that is specific for your device and should be easy to find. Make sure your drivers are fully up to date before running it. Running it and following the steps after re-locking the bootloader with the above step should return your phone to 100% stock, unrooted, bootloader locked.
Hi, I did a few searches but came up empty, sorry if this is something answered already.
A friend brought me a sim unlocked Htc One X from at&t stuck in a bootloop and I can't get it out of the bootloop, he supposedly tried to update the device with an ota delivered to his device and it just entered the bootloop, the device is completely stock so I cant unlock the bootloader to flash a custom recovery, I can enter hboot and fastboot but trying fastboot oem rebootRUU causes the device to reboot and go into bootloop so i cant use an RUU to flash everything back, same thing with trying to enter the recovery, trying to factory reset the device or any other option in fastboot or hboot that isnt turning the device off or changing between hboot and fastboot.
Is he SoL? I am not that familiar with htc devices but from what i've reasearched I think there is nothing to be done for it right? (I hope I am wrong)
Try flashing boot.img in fastboot.
So I'm in a bit of a pickle. Unlocked bootloader and rooted phone just fine, but then decided i waned to go back to my old factory reset phone, so i locked boot loader, then tried to reset using ruu, but low and behold the 2 telus ruu's i have tried result in errors, probably because my phone is s-on still and i have know clue what the cid is. My phone can still boot into bootloader mode and download mode, but can't access TWRP or recovery mode, it cant be picked up by usb or plugging it into the computer to transfer files, so my options are sd card for file transfer. Is there any way to fix it or is it a fancy paper weight now?

Have tried flashing bootloader off with fastboot and adb, and it shows up and asks me if i wish to unlock, but then just goes right back into bootloader mode and as 'relocked' still, i think it is because i cant enable oem unlocking or usb debugging because i cannot go into any os, and am limited to recovery and download mode. Any suggestions?

Thats at least something.
Type:
fastboot getvar all
(delete IMEI and post the output please)
Ok so, this isn't my first time flashing and returning to stock with phones, just the worst. Any help is appreciated.
I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and tried to flash a few ROMS which were not working great so I went to go back to stock and then the **** show happened. Its the LO4 Model. I flashed stock recovery, Relocked the bootloader and tried the Force Flash Update method. Well now the phone is stuck in a boot loop(Cant power it down), cant boot to erecovery/ recovery -- I can get to fast boot mode but the FRP is locked so I can not do anything all commands fail with an error.
Any thoughts? I just need to get it back to stock OR a working ROM- I plan on selling this phone and My wife (it was her phone) has upgraded to a Galaxy S9. If I cant get it to work, I will post it on swappa as is for a cheap price
Thanks!
Same Issue
I did the same thing, however when in fastboot type fastboot oem unlock (put the code here) and this will unlock your bootloader. I did this I even managed to flash the stock system cust recovery and boot, but it doesnt boot into recovory, erecover, or even download mode to download the software from the sd card. Any ideas?
I tried that fastboot code and I get an error because of the FRP lock
I've recently bricked my device trying to install LineageOS, long story short I had to use MSM Tool in order to flash a new, stock ROM. Since I did that I am unable to unlock the bootloader: everytime I do the phone bricks with this following Yellow message on the screen: "upgrade download failed please check your download flow is right". After that I have to use the MSM Tool again to unbrick the Yellow text.
Any ideata how I might unlock the bootloader? Aside from that, the phone works fine.
EDIT: I managed to fix this by OEM updating my device to Android 11 and *then* unlocking the bootloader. Another issue has arisen now, though: whenever I try to boot TWRP from fastboot, the phone reboots and gets stuck in the "Fastboot Mode" OnePlus logo screen. Would anyone know how to fix this, or maybe is there a way to root your phone without using a custom recovery?

Yes you can ,,install thru boot loader with ADB and fastboot CMD. First you need to extract the boot.img from your oos rom, patch it in magisk app, then put it in your adb folder and run the cmd " fastboot flash boot boot.img .
