I had that issue back on a Galaxy Nexus when i ported a rom. I just went through the app apk's and replaced anything that had to do with the phone and texting itself, and it seemed to fix it

I flashed it into Rom Slot without realizing the issues there. I Odined back to stock and just installed Xposed framework and modules instead. Quite frankly I am more than happy with the stock version with the de-bloating I did and tweaks via Xposed. It's a nice damn phone as is. And I have been flashing ROMs since the original Moto Droid days !!

Try reformatting the simcard. Also if its a cheapo from ebay that could be the cause of your problems. I had the same issue, bought a PNY and fixed the problem.

Kango Root
Works on Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and on Window 8.1 64 RTM. My S4 was previously rooted using the method for MF3.
So I did this. Gave me root. Awesome. I then put Safestrap on my phone. I made a Rom-slot. Can I then install the MDL odin file after activating the Rom-slot?

I suggest you take as much time as needed to read all of the "pinned" threads in the General and Q & A sections. Then, if you can't get your phone to boot, or if your stock recovery doesn't work, take the phone to a Best Buy that has a Samsung Experience booth and try to get them to re-flash stock MF3 for you. If you read the threads and get Best Buy / Samsung to re-flash it for you, you should be OK. If you decide to not do the reading, I suggest you don't do anything to the phone except use it as AT&T intends you to use it. Good luck.

I remember on the S4 for a very brief stint with an AOSP ROM you could switch without having to reboot.... In fact, there was actually a quick setting toggle for it lol. Anyway to do this on a TouchWiz ROM? Thanks in advance!

I thought that was based on the kernel and how the ROM interfaces with it. It shouldnt benecessary to reboot, but if the ROMs infrastructure makes it think that its necessary, then it will. Some tweaking of a TW ROM should make it possible, however the RODT ROM im currently running is asking to reboot also

Yeah the only thing is. This isn't Android L. It's a 4.4.2 incremental update. My guess is they caught on to bump. But as someone has said we can downgrade with the flash tool right now. But that might not be the case when lollipop is deployed.
