[Q] Tablet to buy, suggestions please - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I am planning to buy a new tablet in the next few days and need your help deciding which one to go for..
I live in India and hence, tablets are generally expensive as compared to the other markets!
Have shortlisted my choice to :
1. Dell Venue 7 (148$)
2. Nexus 7 2012 edition (166$)
My main purpose would be reading ebooks and watching movies.
Please suggest among the above or any other better options below 200$

Tablet Recommendation for Me

I am looking to sell my iPad and get a android tablet. I have the s4 phone and I love it, I also have a samsung laptop that I love as we'll so I am leaning towards a samsung tablet. What would you guys recommend, I have been looking at the note 8.0 and I have read mixed reviews so what do you guys think?
It's a solid tablet, but it all depends on how useful that S-Pen is going to be for you. Otherwise, if you're looking to get the most bang for your buck specs-wise, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Sero 7 Pro!
The $149 Hisense Sero 7 Pro is a great Nexus 7 clone available exclusively at Walmart, and occasionally you can find cheaper refurbs online for about 80-90 bucks. I got mine this June, and it was a great purchase decision! I've just recently rooted it and am running Dolorespark's dopaROM v1.1, which you can read about here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470998 There's also a Kitkat-based ROM called Taktik (get it?) that I haven't tried yet as the camera and mp3 aren't working properly yet, but good news: Hisense just released the kernel source code today, and it looks like ROM development for this tablet is about to really take off! You can read about Taktik here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2536116
Good luck with your future tablet purchase!

If you want a really new one even if it doesn't have the best specs you can get the moto e, but if you want a really solid phone that isn't exactly supported by google but is capable of a ton for ~$100 then the galaxy nexus is a great phone and you can get them new for about that price unlocked.
note 2 verizon
Note 2 verizon can be found for $150 on ebay if you watch watch watch.

Could anyone recommend me a Chinese tablet?

Hi guys,
I'm getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite 7" from Samsung as my promotional gift.
My idea was to sell this tablet and buy a Chinese tablet with better specs for the same price.
Max price: $175 (as I don't want to spent too much on the tablet)
I don't have any requirements that are a necessity.
EDIT: I do, must run Android.
Does anyone have any experience with any Chinese tablet?
All help is welcome.
Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if this was posted in the wrong section.

[Completed] [WHAT PHONE] $200 android for Rooting & flashing ROMs.

Jan 2015 I bought Oneplus One used it for a year and finally sold it on Jan 2016 and bought iPhone 6s 64GB for more than $1000. Since then Ive been using it and frankly Im terribly disappointed and frustrated by the whole iOS eco system. Not to mention the higher cost of same Apps vis-a-vis Android.
Im now planning to get a second phone, an android, for my love of rooting and flashing custom ROMs and for changing more than a wallpaper in the name of customization. And eventually sell my iphone after a year since selling it now will cause heavy depreciation loss to me.
Ive set a budget of $200 to buy a custom rom happy android phone, please tell me which phones should I consider. Im open to used phones too.
Please note that phone should have rich custom rom development activities.
