Hi
Is there any way to get the LG knock code feature on our Nexus 5. I currently have knock code on the N5 but it requires the screen to be on.
Is there any to have knock code while the display is turned off ?
Thanks in advance

I pretty sure we will need a kernel with this feature not only mod but maybe I am wrong ...
Odoslané z Nexus 5 pomocou Tapatalku
1. There's an Xposed module for it but only the screen on lockscreen
2. Digitizer is controlled by kernel
3. Hardware limitation on the Nexus 5 means it'll drain a lot of battery as far as we know

No flaming please. I've looked everywhere but I'm also extremely exhausted. I can't seem to figure out how to add shortcuts to the locksreen

Why do you think you should be able to?
That feature is not a part of Android

This is my first nexus phone. So I didn't know. Always thought I could have my apps on the lock ring
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Just wait for the custom roms to start dropping. You will see that feature soon.
Sent from my Nexus 5
Sorry about that. Like I said, I'm tired and not thinking straight. I thought the shortcuts came with Android. Didn't know those were mods
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Actually shortcuts is a part of CyanogenMod
The excact same lock sreen is available with CM 10.1.3 and forward, WITH shortcuts
But I would like this feature on my new Nexus 5 ... Any suggestions?
Holy old thread revival Batman!
Hey guys I just switched from note 3 to nexus 5. Just want to know if this battery usage is normal? It seems like its dying fast.

You have to provide a little bit more information. Like time on, other usage.
I thought I uploaded the other photo.

I would say yes, who knows what your screen brightness was at even though I am sure it was probably at auto. Talking on the phone can drain a lot of battery.
Why note 3 to nexus 5, seems odd?
Well you did talk on the phone for a while. But Google Search is draining the battery more than it should. I would just reboot and do another full charge. Google Search was draining my Nexus 7 the other day and the reboot/recharge seemed to have fixed it. For now anyway. Android OS/Google Search seems to be a recurring bug. Unless of course you were using google now a lot, in which case it would probably be normal.

I really don't understand why BetterBatteryStats log isn't a standard response. Give us a log, and we will tell you what's wrong. Instead of guessing.

Then we can't get our post count up?
I did not hear of the app until you made that post; the man is probably still stock/non rooted/ just getting used to it.
Look under advanced settings under wifi and see if always scanning is on. If so, turn it off.
Why the heck would you go from a note 3 to a Nexus 5?

good day.
My question is in correlation to this thread. Why go off topic? Rude

I had the note 3 I just wasn't a big fan of the build quality and the Samsung over lay of it. I always loved the nexus 4 and when I used the neuxs 5 in person I fell in love with the design and how smooth it was. But the battery is starting to worry me. I'm on cataclysm rom with Franco kernel r22. I have WiFi on with the phone using 3g only. I barely use Google search. The phone calls werent that long either. I just feel like the battery is being drained way to fast for no reason. I keep most apps closed after I'm done using then. I had greenify on and I have the kernel set to 1.7ghz. I just don't know what to do with anymore.

I have a note 3 as well and looking to buy a nexus to play with. The only two things keeping me om the fence is lack of an sd card slot, and the battery life issues we speak of here.
Do you find the nexus 5 to have better build quality vs the note 3?

Hi everyone,
I wanted to test the ART motor, so I put the option to ART but once reboot the option is back on Dalvik.
Anyone got a solution ?

Let me guess your using xposed framework? Art is incompatible with xposed

Art = No Good yet
EVERYBODY is having problems with Art (Unless you're stock everything and Use only apps that are compatible with Art) Plus can't notice the speed improvements. Nexus 5 with Snap 800 is fast enough Art is meant for devices with lower specs.. i.e. Galaxy Nexus Use Delvik for now, Art is not worth the unstability. Plus, it's technically in beta

Nonsense!
ART is not unstable. Just incompatible with some mods and apps.
It's noticeably faster than Dalvik.

then you obviously had/have no idea what you're doing.
in that case, you really should stay away from art

well if a "poweruser" with soooo many posts in this forum says ART bricked their device then they obviously know what they are talking about and it couldn't have been anything else.

Many custom kernels support this. Have a look in the kernel threads. It is a huge battery drain on the Nexus 5.
Ahh huge battery drain, what a shame. Thanks for your help will check the kernels out
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
If you don't want to change kernels then You could also try out Touch Control : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.paranoid.touchcontrolfree
However, not all kernels are supported by it!

Hi guys, I would like to ask why we dont have the option same as Nexus 6 / MotoX to have always on listening even if the screen is off (not charging)?
Nexus 5 chip has a built in feature for that correct?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
It does have a low power core, but it's locked to be used as a pedometer. As of yet, it cannot be utilized for always listening.
It is possible, though. Maybe some day.
