Just to let you know, I tried terminal emulator with root privileges to get into service mode using the instructions stated in this thread and it worked: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2749898

or, instead of using terminal and typing that long command, type this in your phone. *#27663368378#
does the same exact thing.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729694
You then can use the service codes in post #1 in the dialer.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but, pretty sure a terminal emulator app is just for exploring/utility for your phone's Linux command.
Is there any way to identify the kernel we are using? These long days, sleepless nites and endless testing seem to run together.

This should be in the Q&A section, but "adb shell uname -a" or just "uname -a" if you have a terminal emulator app.
"CPU Spy" free from Market will also tell you your kernel version.

I'll make sure I recommend you guys to everyone that asks me about rooting. I do have a guestion tho. Is there a pretty much factory rom without the bloatware that I could use ace to hax and if so which is the most stable?

Do u have your phone plugged up in debug and charge only if your on stock rom? Then once u open aahk it should be in that folder.

No such file or directory
Hi. This is my first post on here so don't go too hard on me, but, I'm trying to root my HTC Inspire 4G using Advanced Ace Hack Kit.
I'm reading/using the effen manual, and when it tells me to type in ./hack-ace.sh in Terminal it tells me there's no such file or directory.
I don't understand how this could be, because i have everything installed.
Can someone please help me out??
Thank you!
NOTE: I'm using a Macbook white running Lion 10.7.4
------FIX------
I simply dragged the file hack-ace.sh into Terminal and pressed enter and it worked!
No. Plug your phone in. With USB debugging turned on and in charge only mode. Connect it to your pc Then run ace. when it ask for the passkey open tools find Cajun.txt open it. It should give u the passkey if not use the irc channel if it work enter the number 1 press enter wait for it to finish this should take sometime 10 mins. Or so.

I'm assuming you are a windows machine. Do you have adb and fastboot installed on your computer?

should be fine. likely you have extensions hidden. Easy button is to to put your recovery.img in the platform-tools folder. Shfit-right click and open a command prompt window from that folder then type your fastboot command.
This is what it looks like

also do you get anything by typing fastboot devices when your phone is in fastboot mode?
