Here is why...
I cant get this ROM to De-Odex properly. When I do I am sure things like can be swapped.
You guys dont have the stock LG browser? Just Chrome?
I should be able to De-Odex the browser, that didint seem to give much issue. If you want send me a PM to remind me and I will take a look and see what I cant do.

No, VZW version only has Chrome, which isn't optimal for some web sites.....having the LG stock browser as an option would be great!!!
I tried to deodex through the kitchen last night but it didn't work there was 4 apps that will not deodex. not sure if we need an updated boksmali/smali or not. i will be working on it some more tonight
I do believe in using the midst recent version. 1.5.2 and tried API 14-17 and out kept failing.
Edit: I hate auto correct... lol

Yep, exactly the same problem here! And when I did take what was de-odexed it would just be a mess when the phone booted. Bad! The LG keyboard would just keep F/C'ing, the CSC never fired so things did not get set up correctly, etc etc...
If you figure it out before I do please let us know. I was going to look at it more today but my thing was the Symlinks... That took a while to get right. Much longer than I wanted it to. This thing has some crazy ass symlinks!!!

I couldnt get it to work for me, but perhaps I was doing it wrong.
I'm still a newbie at all of this, but I was successfully able to use this method on the previous versions out...
rdlv works just make sure you install cygwin
Designgears won't re-open (U)RDLV as he sold his Note 3 and got a Nexus 5.
Your best bet is RavenY2K3 as he tries to publish a modified version of URDLV and is still waiting for Designgears permission to do so.

How can I get it? I've made attempts to contact him to no avail, the community suffers....
Edit: You're a mod, don't your messages go through regardless of what the PM permissions are set to?
I've tried PM'ing and opened a thread with him tagged, I don't know what else other than hunting him down I can do?

If you have attempted to contact him and have not gotten a reply, then your best bet is to leave it alone. There may be reasons that you are unaware of that he doesnt want it re-opened.

I hear you, honestly I do. But surely the fact this is an online community to help one another, is just being kicked in the nuts over something small?
Ok, what if I created it from scratch using the same method? Is that still against the rules?

Take a look over the rules. Using the work of others without permission is against the rules. IF you remake it with the same coding you are still using their work. Now DG pops in from time to time but doesnt spend alot of time on XDA. If he sees it he will respond. Until then I would look at other options.

I just hope @designgears will pop by and just say "Yeah, that's fine" soon, a total shame if not.

Does anyone have the link to the root tool for the G5? It looks as though all I can find are dead links..
Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
It was removed because they weren't going to be able to maintain it and codefire will hopefully be releasing their tool soon from the way it looks
Can the root tool work will all g5 variants?

Actually don't do that. They've got better things to do than answer a thousand "ETA PLEASE" messages.

It's been long time I did that. I could give it a try.
I do not have source code though, where should I be looking for the same?

You guys do realize that they didn't release this because team codefire has working root and installed twrp so they didn't put this out because they wouldn't be able to upkeep it and there will be another method out as soon as codefire figures out the encryption issues with twrp.

It was released for about 2 minute, until the first question I got after being clear i wasnt going to support it in any way was "how do i use this to install su". It became clear I Was going to be bombarded with questions on it. It was a tool that could gain root, it didnt install TWRP, SU or really do anything different, it requires more work on top of it to be useful for root as the XDA community knows root. I pulled it, CodeFire has an alternative that is more mature it seems.
