Im curious but as an example if I have twitter, plume, tweetcaster, and Seesmic all on my phone, and they all check twitter do they drain battery more then if I just had one twitter app.

Do you use the all? Unless your using them all at the same time for some reason it seems unnecessary to have them all running. It's ok if they are all installed and you pick and choose which one you use depending on whatever but its when they all are tying to access resources that you will run into batter issues.

I use them due to the different layout looks and feels and am trying to figure which one has the best functionality.
I know they all do the same thing, but it wasn't until now that it hit me, they all devour battery everytime they update themselves
I don't know why but I had this assumption that since they all dip into twitter they would kinda share the gathered info

Hi,
It depends on the app which you are installing. If you will install more animation based apps and more images based app then the battery will drain soon.
I did that at first too. I guess I was always good about removing the unnecessary apps before battery drainage was a problem. As far as a Twitter app goes I've been using twidroyd pro for quite a while now and I love it. The widget really pulls my home screen together. I switched to seesmic when Twitter banned twidroyd but I didn't like the widget. Is that a weird reason not to use an app?

I am sure there are many people who do not use the samsung voice ( vilingo) and the double press home is not used. This is like not using a hardware key
i use this homeMYhome from c3k user from the galaxy sII forum to remap the home button double pressand works well

The download links are there in that thread
Before installing delete /system/app/VoiceToGo.apk
Works well when it works but after a while when I double click it makes me choose what app I want it to open, its as if the program loses its settings

Works but very ugly... it opens the homemyhome app for a fraction of a second before actually opening the app you chose. :\

Did not notice that when i use.
Back in the Dinc days I had tasker start the GPS automatically whenever navigation started...but it doesn't look like that is possible with ICS/JB. I'm running beans 9
Does anybody have any idea on how to get this through tasker or other means? Thanks
Personally, I just leave my gps on all the time...
I don't see why Tasker wouldn't work though...

You can use Tasker, but you also need the Secure Settings app with the Root Helper installed in order for 3rd party apps to modify GPS settings. Why Google restricted it like that in Android 3.0+, I'm really not sure...

So do I, there is no reason not to really.
Leaving GPS on doesn't affect battery life enough to even notice.
Hey is there any Possibilty to force GPS to turn off or to disable it completly? My tablet seems to have a little bug and i can´t turn off GPS, the switch will just go back to ON and to High accuracy.
i wouldn´t care if GPS would be disbaled completly as long as my battery won´t die so fast....
Hope somebody can help.

Is there really no option? I even tried GPS.enable=false in build.prob, it's still active....

I searched here to see if rooting a Droid Ultra 4.4.4 is possible, but I see a definite NOPE. I wanted to use GLTools, which requires root, so I could play Half Life 2 and Portal on my phone. So my question is:
Are there any other graphics optimizers (If at all) that DON'T require root access?
I cleared 2.1GB for Half Life 2 on my phone and it will be disappointing if I can't play it. I have the app, I can run it, but it just leads to a black screen and closes after the opening logos; I assume this happens because it can't load everything with the device's limited capabilities; Therefore the need for a graphics optimizer like GLTools.
Search again.
