Hi all,
Just picked up a sensation and its locked to 3 so need to unlock it to the o2 network. I have never had to use an online locking service before and I would just like some recommendations regarding good genuine services.
Thanks all

At the moment there are none. However if you wait not even a week someone will have figured out how to do it.
Hello there I was searching for the same. Finally decided to go for www.htcimeiunlock.com . It worked perfectly and the unlock code was mailed to me within 15 mind. I did cost me around 20 USD.
I tried all methods. S off, changing to unbranded Ruu, falshing radios. Super CID. Later to find out sim unlock has nothing to do with all of them.
Guess u can wait for Sumone to find out a solution ..it will be here but wait can be too long.
Hope this helped

I have an HTC Sensation on Orange, but bought via dialaphone. I wonder if it is classified as branded or unbranded.
Is there any way to tell from serial nu,ber or software version?
It used to be possible with the first Desire.
Thanks
Massi
I got the XE through dial a phone on orange, it is unbranded, check for logos on the case or on the phones software (IE in the menu or anything)
I doubt yours is branded.
Hi, I'd be interested in this too. I bought mine instore at a high street T Mobile shop. There seems to be no form of branding at all. I've just got this after coming from a Desire HD (loved it, just fancied a change) and am used to doing updates via the RUU rather than waiting for operator OTA stuff. Just need to ensure that when available, I D/L the right one. Mine is an XE version and as it's still all shiny & new, I don't want to go down the rooting road just yet!
Cheers for any help. (Oh aye, is it just me or does the screen seem narrower than my Desire HD screen despite every tech' doc' telling me it isn't)?

I bought mine too from Dial a Phone.
I know that it's factory unlocked because I popped a T-Mobile SIM in it and it worked fine.
Not sure about branding though, my guess is that it's unbranded.

check your cid, steps are explained in the development sub-forum
Branded = Carrier Logos on the device itself, Carrier Apps, Carrier ROM
Unbranded = No Logos, Stock ROM, Stock Apps
Try putting a different providers sim card in, if it works its unbranded, if not, branded
Generally orange phones are unbranded in unlocked.

Hi - I read about HTC Sensation XE, 4G etc - how do I know which model my phone is?
Also I am living abroad from the UK and need to use a SIM from another phone company so I need to unlick my phone. Is the a FREE way to do thas apart from going to one of those web sites that unlock it for a fee?
Thanks from someone new to this (we all start somewhere)

Hi,

and,possibly, HERE
Hi, so I bought an HTC Desire S and it's locked to Orange UK. I S-OFFed and tried sieempi's method but it's still network locked. Is there any generator or tweak like the HTC Desire/Sensation to get the code? It's urgent as this is my new personal smartphone.
Thanks in advance

Urgent? No it's not. On Christmas day nothing is really urgent.
You can either ask your current network provider for the unlock code (may have to pay them) or get hold of an XTC-Clip (Buy, rent, shop ...) and definitely have to pay.
There is no software method for network unlock on the Desire S.
There's a xtc-clip page on xda with members that have access to them
This Christmas I've decided to put a mistletoe in my back pocket....so all the people I dont like can kiss my ass.
local evoibi
But there must be a unlock code somewhere in those mmcblk blocks, like on the One S, Desire (bravo) and the Sensation, why wouldn't there by any on the Desire S? HTC must have hidden it somewhere... Any guess?
Here's a guess: this phone is out for almost a couple of years now, and if the way to unlock it was so simple that a noob could guess it - I guess it would have been unlockable by now.
You can, of course, read and learn how SIM unlock is done on the other "sister" phones (G2/DZ/DHD/MT4G), and what's preventing DS from having the same treatment, and what's needed to make it work. But something tells me that you won't do that.
Hoping someone can help
I bought a Sensation XE supposedly not network locked, stupidly didnt check, did the necessary and flashed it with ARHD and set it up and then rushed sending it fro UK to singapore as a gift for my fiancee and her yet again failing junkberry.
The idea was i could set it up properly for email, skype etc etc to save us costs and avoid sms and make it a nice gift customised and with music, pics etc.
She has now tried to use it and discovered its simlocked, this is embarrasing and frustrating and expensive. I rushed getting it out and its the one thing i forgot to check :crying: Id love to stick a boot up the seller said it wasnt network locked.
I cant get it code unlocked because I cant get it back on whatever uk network.
Theres a snowballs chance in hell ill get her using revolutionary.
Theres a slim hope I could get an xtc clip and make and send a goldcard but im not sure how xtc clip works, do i need the phone present to make a goldcard?
Is there anyone here can recommend someone/somewhere reliable who can break/remove a simlock on a uk phone in singapore (presumeably at sim lim).
Please help folks, the only other option otherwise is do another phone and send it out or have the phone sent back, sort it out and resend.

The problem with this is that if method one fails, the user will need to be full s-off And on gingerbread firmware before it will work....
Op, does the phone request an unlock code while she is in singapore? If so you could try a online imei unlock. Buy=code and then get her to input it?

Not a chance Im afraid, this is someone who just knows how to call and text and occasionally take pics and is completely computer illiterate. Anything technical is not possible.
I guess the only way is to call the phone's company and ask for the unlock code...

Imn afraid I have no idea which company it was on, it was sold to me as unlocked/sim free.
Anyone else, someone must have some local info re singapore
Where did you buy the phone from? If from eBay or Amazon you should try to contact the seller. Or you can try to look up all the carriers that have the sensation in the UK.

Did the phone have any carrier apps/boot animations when you had it? Any sort of information at all?
If you bought an imei unlock online they should send you a code, and every time the phone is booted up with an incorrect sim it should request said code to unlock it.
