hi to everyone, ihope someone could help me solving my wifi problem. i own a pipo max m9 wifi +3g fw 4.2.2, the module wifi/bt is gone (impossible to activate), so i started to look for an external wifi adapter with compatible drivers. i found sitecom wla 2103 that seems to use 8192cu driver the same i have on my tablet sistem\lib\modules\8192cu.ko.
host usb controller shows to the adapter connected by otg cable but how to connect?
i've read the guide in this forum but i read about to compile driver too that i own and i'm not exactly a developer as you can see
someone can help me ?
thx

What means "gone"? broken hardware? Did you already try flashing the stock firmware?

Hi ls.xd yes is broken i tried to change fw, kernel, checked wires but i didn't solve i wanted to try the [GUIDE] but i'm not so experienced in developing.
i hoped in a faster solution because i found the driver in the fw but it's not enough to solve. i'll try slowly to follow step by step the guide hoping to understand what i'm doing.
Forgive my bad english.

Hello i recently bought a chine cell : the star a2000
i was wondering if there was a way to update android ... i'm currently in version 2.2.1, help me please
I need one too please. Any way to get a DUAL Sim ROM with Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the Star A2000?
I recently bought the Star A2000 too, its a great phone but the only drawback is the lack of english support. Would be great if anyone here could provide some help (yes I'm a noob) for upgrading this thing to gingerbread.
Keep an eye out for a post I will be making shortly I hope to cover everything from rooting the phone, to installing recovery and roms to repackaging roms and restoring the imei after factory reset very shortly.
Helo! Me too bought this nice phone about month ago. By now aplied a custom flash from forum . china-iphone .ru /viewtopic . php?f=31&t=13988 forum. Now it works quite faster then on stock flash (befor I had rooted my phone and changed recovery to modified clockworkmod (also in that Russian forum) - very powerful and stabile.
Now I'm wonderin' whether it possible to install android 2.3 to my phone or not. I believe it is? but at the moment have not a clue where to start.
Hi Guys - please check out my post on these phones here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18046607#post18046607
As far as I am aware there is no Roms made that will install 2.3 yet for these phones - however there is come good news too!
I have seen these phones A1000/A2000 on the internet with 2.3 already installed - what we need is someone with one of these phones to create a nandroid back up for us.
I am currently working on porting a cynagenmod android 2.3 ROM to the phone but I am still a long way off as I have come from a PC background... but have managed to customize a few ROMs already to suit my own phone.
Porting a ROM is a big jump though so it is going to take a lot of reading and likely trial and error but I do believe it is possible.
I would love to hear some tips comments or advice from any developers. I do not see why it can not be done if there are models coming with it standard - but I can not be sure.
Great! You're giving me a hope about 2.3. I believe it's portable on our device because architecture requirements musn't change dramaticly since 2.2. Actually I'm from Russia and know 4pda forum, but on chine-iphone (I gave link in previous post, just erase 6 spaces) there are more informations about particular device flashing. If something unclear feal free to help in translation from Russian.

hi my friend, i have an oficial usb to com cable for the a2000, i've buyed this cable because when i was flashing it using the sp-flahstool, the software jumped at an error, thus interrupting the flashing procedure, now the phone does not even power on, there is no ligths, no reaction to any action from the phone, like if the phone has no battery plugged in or whatsoever... the battery is ok, i have other exact same phone, so all the batteries are fully charged, but it is still dead...
thing is, my computer recognizes the cable as a prolific usb to com cable, i have the latest prolific drivers so there all good with it... but when i try to flash the device gives an error that it can not get to the brom chip, and suggest me to connect the phone, im taking the same steps for flashing with this cable that when i flash it with regular cable, following the tutorial on bm-smartphone-reviews, but no joy... i even tried to fash my working phone with the usb-to-com cable, but the same results... am i doing somethig wrong? im skipping a required step?

Hello my Friend.. So when will it be possible for you to make a nan-droid backup image of your 2.3.6 Gingerbread ROM for the least of us others to utilize? It has been a long wait for people like me who own the A2000. This would help greatly  waiting in anticipation for your post
Hello all,
I've been tearing my hair out trying to get an external wifi dongle to work on my android. I'm running the kali nethunter ROM and trying to boot the kernel found here, but neither iwconfig nor airmon-ng (part of the aircrack suite) show any additional wlan devices. The output of lsusb shows two generic "linux foundation root hub", version 3.0 and 2.0 when I plug it in, and none when I unplug it, so I am assuming it is to some degree working.
I've tried two wifi dongles, one of which is explicitly supported by that kernel (TL-WN722N). Any ideas on ways I can debug where in the chain I'm experiencing problems?
Thanks!
P.S. I would just post in that thread, but I guess I'm considered a noob until I have 10 posts.

Yoo, I see you've tried to use the same dongle I have the TL-WN722N, did you manually flashed the boot.img or did you flashed a zip like pwn_kernel_10062014.zip ?
You can also go to "About Phone" and confirm that you've flashed it
Also, check the files at "/system/etc/firmware/" if you do not see the htc_7010.fw, htc_9271.fw and other firmware files etc... something went wrong with flashing
Having the kernel is not enough, firmware files are really important for detecting these wifi dongles

Thanks for the quick reply
I guess I thought kernel == firmware! I'm still not getting the distinction between ROM, kernel, and firmware I guess. I wanted to still be running nethunter so I just did the boot.img. I'll check that out when I get home. Do you accept donations? If you do, I'll be sending something your way if I get this working

Any possible fix for this??

--It is a mtk6582 type device.....
--While using MediaTek root tools it gives an error SU inaccessible .....
I am stuck....Please Help!!
And i think i had usb debugging disabled before i messed up...
Hi there, unfortunately there is little support for your device out here. You can check out this thread here. It is the q&a thread for chainfire 3d. You may find a solution there. However it may be necessary to find your stock rom somehow in order to solve.
Good luck

Unfortunately if you have not authorized your device to use adb you will not be able to.
Please check the thread that I linked you for answers. Xda assist is not for direct support. We are here to point you in the right direction.

I have an Alcatel Streak, 4060o, and I can't find a forum for it. I was hoping someone could direct me or answer a couple questions?
I got it for $10 when I tried Cricket. It no longer has a SIM in it and I'd like to dedicate it to a radio tracker I'm making.
I need to connect it to an SDR usb dongle but it wont recognize it's connected. I don't have the phone in front of me right now so I'm sorry I don't know the OS version/rom version.
Is there a setting for USB host mode? Can I root it? Is there a custom ROM I could load on it?
Again, sorry for not being the correct forum.
Thanks,
davidk

Do this seam to run android 6.0 and my opinion this is a clone of the alcatel pixi 3 4.5 4g. i know its a long name but this is alcatel
can you view using cpu-z what chipset this phone have ?
Thanks for the response.
I'll take a look when I get home from work. According to phonearena.com it's a Snapdragon 210 8909, and running Android 6.
I'll also do some searching for the Pixi 3 but I'm guessing the Pixi is different. It uses the Mediatek MT6735M.
I found an article that mentions a certain file is needed for OTG (and the hardware must support it of course).
"android.hardware.usb.host.xml must exist on the Android device in the folder /system/etc/permissions"
If I can use ADB to get to the folder and create the file it may work.
If possible I'd like to reimage the phone or load a custom rom. I tried using KingRoot to get access and now I can't remove it. The instructions to get from KingRoot to SuperSU didn't work for me.
Thanks again.
davidk
i have a vodafone 600 (vfd600) and it have the Snapdragon 210 8909, in my case the otg work , but i know the only way to activate the otg is using a custom kernel :/
and the Alcatel ideal 4060A its the same like the 4060O but its running 5.1 and i think the kernel can be different.
you can search on xda 4060A and you can post some of the post you can get batter help :good:
Hello to all,
I come to you because I don't know what to do anymore!
I bought this car stereo very recently and am having trouble with the USB ports.
I only have one of the 5 that works.
In addition to the Android car radio, I bought a DAB+ USB adapter key and a 4G WiFi USB adapter.
In the beginning, all working fine but after several connections and disconnections, I only now have ONE functional USB port.
In addition, following the update with the Vivid ROM, I tried to update with the USB A <-> A cable but the computer does not detect the car radio although I have correctly installed the drivers.
My last chance to revert to the original ROM is to try the SD card method but with little chance of success.
So my 2 questions is, what is it that causes me to only have one functional USB port?
Electric problem ?
A component that would have burned?
How it's possible that my PC doesn't recognize the HU (developer mode and USB debug enabled) ?
Thank you for your answers.
PS : this is my HU PX6, RK3399, Android 10 : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005001405939909.html
When the USB ports were all were working did you flash some other firmware on the unit? I ask this because if that is not the case, why wouldn't your radio already be on factory firmware?
Have you tried a factory reset from one of the menus in the system or factory settings? There may be a way to boot your unit into recovery where a full on reset can be done.
It sounds to me that this may be a hardware issue that new firmware may not help. Seems odd that so many of the USB ports could go bad at once. I'd be trying to reach out to the reseller.
SNIP
Alternatively, there are plenty good guides on xda that detail alternative ways to flash - some that don't even require the USB port. Locate user @marchnz. He has posted numerous helpful ways to recover/flash MTCD/E units and many solutions to problems with these units.

Good news !
I've reset with success the HU with SDcard method and IMG file.
Stuck on bootloop but i've put HU in recovery then i was able to install the update.zip file.
Another message to make a factory reset and it work but always 1 USB working...

Yes, all USB ports working fine before installing Vivid ROM...
Now i need to have all my USB ports working, and i think it will be not easy to do...
Maybe Hal9k ROM fix this issue because she's resetting all USB port before starting it ?
I don't know if Hal9k ROM might help. I would suggest you post this concern in the VIVD thread if that was what broke the USB ports. Incidentally I have posted in that thread. It is not a true ROM but a base ROM with a custom launcher.
SNIP
Hal9k and Malaysk probably have a good number of proper drivers and support modules for many many more units.
SNIP
Before trying one of their ROMs, I would suggest getting your unit back to a factory firmware specific for your unit as throwing more software at the issue would make it hard to tell if it's the firmware or something wrong with the hardware if it still doesn't work for you.

Incorrect assumption, they are unable to build in drivers, neither have access to source and are simply modifying factory base ROM with work based from others.
They also appear to argue who stole what code, neither sharing their source or assisting the community other that to promote their wares.
Regarding the USB port issue, what hardware electrical checks have been made, including tracing from the USB back to hub?
Thinking the issue might be software is probably wishful thinking.
Apologies @marchnz for suggesting and I will never let this happen again. I wasn't aware of what they could or couldn't do to the ROMs or any controversy. When I tried their ROMs was when they were still free.
However I do believe this guy here got his radio messed up by flashing the VIVID "ROM." I do believe it's possible to break these units by not knowing what you're flashing to the device.

No need to apologise, all good here. Lets see what result he comes back with by flashing a stock ROM.
Hi and sorry for late answer.
My fault has to not backup the factory firmware before install Vivid ROM (if we can say that is a "ROM").
I'm waiting to receive the firmware from my seller and hoping that i can use my HU with all USB ports OK.
I will back to this thread when i have more infos
And allready, thanks for your precious help

Success by flashing the stock IMG ROM using SDCard method but avoid boot loop...
To fix, i went into recovery to make a factory reset and install update zip and all is now working with stock ROM.
No result about all USB's back to work, only one...
