Anyone know what this is? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

What the hell is this home icon? This is like the 2nd or 3rd icon I've seen on this device that I've never seen before on other devices (it's just the first I've noticed quick enough to take a SS of).

Settings - about - help - icon glossary. It is labeled "network extender"

it tells you you are on a verizon network extender device

Interesting...thanks guys. So apparently there's an extender in my office building that covers about half of one hallway on my floor...odd.

[APP] Power Saver Mode(HTC/Sprint hid it)

I noticed the Gingerbread update for the HTC Evo did not include a way to access the power saver options. Unless I missed the shortcut somewhere. The power save mode is are turned on by default. This could cause some problems if you get below 30% battery and it cuts off everything running like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Data, etc.. Anyways, I made a very small app that opens that menu. Devs, feel free to use in your Sense ROMs.
Hope all is well,
Ken
Well this is cool, but the menu can be accessed by going to settings, hit search button, type power.

Yep, but I bet no one even knew it existed to search for it. I just made it easier.

Wow every day I get floored by crap like this.
1. This is for the HTC evo 4g running gingerbread aka 2.3.x
2. HTC One runs jellybean aka 4.1+
3. If you try this on the htc one you must be brainless

G2x signal bar questions

Hi, I just got my t-mobile g2x as a replacement phone from t-mobile
everything is fine, except the signal bar's color is always "WHITE/GREY" regardless 2G/4G, when I was using G2, it should be like green-ish.
Is that totally normal?
I am running stock 2.3.3, with t-mobile contract, and I definitely already sync/connect to google server (background data), because when I search a lot of ppl just saying "you are not connect to google".
Alright, another thing bugging me is coming out
The phone kept shows the screen before lock breifly, when I unlock the screen
Not solvble again?
It's LG's ****ty coding no way around it if you're on stock to my knowledge

Yup. Their crappy overlay directs the signal icons to the same icon for connected and non connected through XML. You have to go change it manually. The lock screen is due to their animations overlay... Their overlays are a nightmare and very VERY shoddy work. Their "devs" are more worried about sticking their name in code rather then actually coding. If you decompile their apps you will find tons of errors....

Green bars means you are connected to google Talk. It's has nothing to do with sync. Try signing into google Talk and see what happens. . Took me a while to figure it out too.

You're wrong, "green bars" mean you are synced with Google and you have an active data connection. Try flashing CM7 or CM9, your bars will change colors when synced with Google.
O yes, you are right. Just tested it. Cool.
It seemed to me that whenever I sign into gtalk my bars will go green. It turns out that is not the case. Learning something new everyday.

This is the very reason I rooted my phone.
So annoying.

Status bar signal/wifi icon gone white on [ROM][JellyBean][4.1.1] Unofficial CM10

I have flashed JB CM10 on my infuse few days back. Just today, after a reboot, the signal and wifi icons went white from blue as shown in screenshot. Note, that all status bar icons were blue before reboot.
Anyone knows why? Thanks in advance.
I believe it has to do with it not being able to connect to google. Try entering the browser or check your google account in settings.

That's right. THANKS :good: I'm logged in to my work network and I know that there's some issue with push on gmail and other accounts when I'm connected to my work network. I just tried disconnecting from work wi-fi and signal icon goes back to blue.
Kinda weird, never had that issue with my stock GB. But, I'm okay with white icons as it's not causing any trouble, except a little distraction.
Thanks again.

Text Percentage in notification tray

I know with samsung and htc, there's a setting that allows you to add a text % to the notification tray. I haven't been able to find one for the Maxx, has anyone else looked?
I know you can add a battery app to do it, but I prefer it be on the right side so it doesn't take up additional space.

No. I'm afraid this isn't an option.
Yeah, that's what I thought. Just hoping I missed something.

Hopefully someone will come along and be our hero and root this thing - and of course, build a rom

Notification bottom of pull-down

Looking for a way to have notifications display from bottom to top instead of top to bottom of the pull down menu. Does anyone know how to get this option either by messing with the system or xposed? Trying to minimize the long stretch to the top of the screen with my thumb.
You can see by reset.

I have seen it before on a few phones, I'm not sure which add-on as I never really used exposed. At least you know it's out there

This guy just posts to keep his numbers up it seems... As for the notification thing? Check out xposed... There might be something there. Personally, I've never seen or tried to do that.
M8, nuff said.
You need to trick your phone into tablet mode. Not sure how exactly without a custom rom maybe perapp hacking with xposed
