The Verizon model doesn't have the "notify me" option to check or uncheck.

I have the option on my Verizon model unless we're talking about 2 different things.

That only pertains to when launching apps. It doesn't turn off the constant notifications of available WiFi.
NotifyClean with Xposed helped out with all those annoying notifications.
Oh ok. I never get those notifications you're talking about. Sorry I couldn't help.

that first check box, if checked, will pop up a selection box in front of your current app when wifi is on but not connected to a network. even with it unchecked, i still get notifications for wireless networks available, but its in the notification bar. the latter was what OP was talking about i believe. Its dumb VZW is adding these intrusive items and calling them "features"

thats what another user posted. that doesnt fix the problem.
I just got an HTC One M8 for Verizon and am now getting a notification each time it connects to WiFi and each time a network is available (while not connected).
It doesn't matter what I do in Settings or anything else. It's obnoxious as hell, and Verizon has told me the only way to disable them is to turn off WiFi, pushing me to further risk going over my data limit and paying them a fee, which is just extortion.
They said they do it to remind people to connect to WiFi, but then there's no point in the "Connected to" notification, and no point to the "Wireless Networks Available" message if I don't want to connect to unsecured WiFi or I can't connect to any available secured WiFi or I just don't trust them enough to connect.
Since their own suggestion pushes people to disable WiFi and risk going over their data limit and paying Verizon a fee, there really should be a class-action lawsuit about it as it's essentially extortion by annoyance. Pretty weasily and convenient for them how they're working it.
At the very least it contradicts Verizon's own logic for the notifications (there's no notification that you're using cell data while WiFi is off). There should be at least an option to disable these notifications for us folks who aren't stupid like they think the majority of their user base is.

That is the message I get when people send me pics or videos from certain phones. I click on that message as if to download it manually, but it pops back up with the same message.
I have tried to reset the phone, clear the messages, have sender re-send......nothing works.
Is this a known bug? Do I have a setting wrong?
no this is not a bug. you must have the data connection ON to receive an MMS. then you could turn it off when you received the message.
I receive text messages no problem. I do not receive picture or video texts, I just get the above mentioned message?
Reset the phone, checked all setting, updated PRL and Profile.............STILL wont work!
Update:
I can no longer send picture messages either!
I had the same problem tonight then it went away. Maybe a brief issue?
Sent from my SGH-i937 using Board Express
This has been going on for a week.
I just sat on the phone with Sprint (whose customer service has gone downhill faster than Joe Paternos career) customer care, tech support, and finally escalations.
Tried to send refresh notices to the phone, we re-did all the updates (profile & PRL), and finally sent me some sample picture texts, still nothing!
Any thoughts from the great minds at XDA?
You have to have cellular data ON you can not get pic/video over wifi for some reason. so go to settings -> cellular -> data connection = ON

And you have a data connection? Like you aren't in a dead spot for coverage? Is your phone one that is sold by your current carrier? Do you have a custom ROM on it? If yes perhaps restore it to factory. If that doesnt work I am out of ideas. I had this problem and found out its becuase I had cellular data turned off (battery saving trick I use)
EDIT: You don't have ICS on do you? Or if you did but don't currently, try turning it on then off again and see if that helps.
All stock, bought from Sprint, still on Sprint. No custom ROM. Cell data is always on as I get loads of texts from work. This is killing me because my job also sends me a lot of picture messages, and I have been having to have them email them to me recently.
What is ICS?
Internet Connection Sharing
Hmmm.....where do I find that setting? I dont remeber changing it, but.........

Have you connected your phone to your computer and checked for any updates in Zune?
daily, that's elementary.
I am thinking ill have to make the 2 hour round trip to the Sprint store, damn!
In a full T-Mobile coverage area I lost the signal. When I attempt to connect it says this sim can't be used on the network? Factory reset and It's still the same.

But, have you called tmobile and see if they can change towers to reconnect you or get a new sim
did you pull sim
check your apn settings
are you ok on wifi
Go into Settings / Mobile network / Network Operators / Select Automatically.
it will say searching for network and it will register on T mobile's network. after that you should have Voice / Data
Happened to me Once (or twice, cant remember) on my HTC Sensation
assumed OP already tried that--hope so--

I haven't called T-Mobile yet, just got home.
Wifi works, I opened this thread over WiFi.
I don't get a signal at all, so I don't think this is an APN problem.

I purchased it on eBay, so I can always open a case.
The rep confirmed it was blocked today Now to call the seller and more than likely open a case.
I was going to say "sims die", get a new one, but a lot of recent posts lead me to say "don't buy a phone on ebay unless you are prepared for it to be stolen and blocked".
yeah, i would never do that. maybe craigslist where i can locally pu and try
but, it is what it is and hope the OP gets it sorted

For those of you wanting to exploit your Data plan for WiFi, Tether, Bluetooth, this app is Confirmed working for the S5 with 4.4.2 with NO ROOT NEEDED.
1. Download the app from the Play Store for FREE.
2. Buy the Key for it ($7.95).
3. Turn on the app, make sure the Key is recognized.
4. Turn on the WiFi.
5. ONE TIME PASSWORD set-up, (unless you delete permissions after each use for easy unlock screen).
6. Then within 30 seconds, you must click over to the Integrated WiFi/Tether area of 'Other networks' and click the WiFi there to turn it on.
App, Key, Recognize, WiFi, 1 time PW, 30 sec integrated WiFi enable. Done.
If you want to change the name and security of the WiFi Hot-spot you will be creating, do so before you activate, otherwise you must restart program and process.
Quick demo and proof that it does work on the Galaxy S5
Just want to warn/give a heads up to anyone who downloads to use this, you give yourself up permission to 3rd parties to your email, internet, apps, and other things on your phone. You actually get a pop up telling you that..not really worth that risk in my book for something I only used once in a blue moon on my S4

@Dennisg34, have you seen the number of Installed 3rd party Certs that are on this phone from the Box?
He's right, if you are permission paranoid, be wary. If you want to have WiFi/Tether on your phone without Root (which I have been using this app for years with no issue) then you are safe to buy/use this app...

I don't know wtf happened to that response, but yes it does work on the newest ota. Using it now
I don't know what updated today, but now I can't do anything without this dialogue popping up. If I click "Decline", it will just popup again within seconds no matter which app I'm in. It'll pop up when I'm doing anything, but if I wanted to force it to pop up to show you, all I would have to do is take a picture, and it will pop up either while I'm trying to take it, or just after. This made me think it was the camera, but I can be in iHeartRadio and it will pop up.
I know it's Samsung specific because it mentions "Samsung" in the Terms and Conditions, but it doesn't mention that app or service it pertains to. It is the worst ever, and I don't want to Accept it just to make it go away.
Any ideas on a solution?

Thanks. I even searched here for both threads and posts with "enhanced features" and nothing came up. I didn't search the Edge section, though.
For those that don't go to that link, this is the solution they give:
All you have to do is check the box agreeing to the terms and conditions, and then tap the agree button. Yes, this means you’ve just opted into the service. Then, however, you can open the Contacts app and tap on your own profile, which will appear at the top of the list.
Now, simply tap on Profile sharing and slide the toggle to off and you’ll disable the new enhanced features.
Click to collapse
The only problem is, I followed the directions, and after trying to turn Profile Sharing off, I got a spinning circle that finally ended with Profile Sharing back on. If this happened within my 14day BestBuy return period, I'd be heading in to exchange this for an iPhone 6+. This is not good, Samsung.
android police posted work around
Per Android Police there is a work around for the issue.
The popup is for the "Enhanced Features" component that includes Simple Sharing. This feature lets you push large files and profile information to your contacts. A lot of people probably just agree the first time it appears, but the fine print is clear that agreeing means your phone number, messages, and contacts will be collected by Samsung. - per android police there is a work around to stop it. -androidpolice.com/2015/05/11/some-galaxy-s6-owners-are-being-plagued-by-a-samsung-popup-that-reappears-every-few-minutes/

Okay guys, at least for now I've been able to get unlimited tethering via USB. This does require a paid version of FoxFi for PDA net. I'm unsure to whether or not the wireless tether works through FoxFi, currently sitting at 6.5/7 GB for the month so I haven't been able to test otherwise yet.
As usual with T-Mobile, you need to create a new APN and use IPv4. Then on FoxFi use USB tethering. On the PC client, be sure that you use the Level 1 Hide Tether Usage option in settings.
Build.prop was set for:
net.tethering.noprovisioning=true
It's extremely worth noting that I've done this on my ROOTED phone, with all T-Mobile apps removed except Mobile Hotspot, Device Unlock and visual voicemail.
My Account, money, TV, Lookout Security and com.t-mobile.pr.adapt and basically any other T-Mobile app is gone.
Please see screenshots for any other settings. Furthermore I'm not responsible if you mess anything up or if it doesn't work for you. Just sharing what I was successful with so far.
If I'm able to determine and wireless option I will post here as well, but must wait until my billing cycle reset. I've got an idea, but as this phone is brand new to me and just had a new baby on the 9th, it's been difficult to find the time to say the least.
Good Luck!

Sorry, 21st. As long as I do USB only I have no issues. Last night, I used WiFi Tether router to stream a few things through my roku 4, it hasn't seemed to increase my hotspot data, so that may be an option.
