Hi,
I have really looked around here for some solution of the miserable response of the screen. I think it is really annoying.
And I did not find a solution.
Who really knows what to do using "Advanced Configuration Tool" 3.2.
Some say you have to set the threshold very high. Is that so?
I started putting it down to 0. And I did not recognize any difference from the default setting.
Then I put it to very high 10000. But I do not recognize real change.
So please, those who know something about these things. What is the best setting to get a good result?
Does anyone know if the sensitivity of the screen changes when taking of the protection foil?
I really think the way you have tap on the screen is a nuisance.

No protetcions foil, please.
To increase touchscreen sensitivity you can set various value to the following registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\TouchPanel]
"PressureThreshold"=dword:2710 (hex) ; this is the initial value 10000 (dec)
Usually this value will be change automatically by the system whenever you run the align screen, the value set may vary depends on how hard you push the touchscreen. You may want to edit it manually using registry editor and set the value to which you think the best. I recommend to set the value to 245 or 400.
HTC Touc PRO the best for me is 350 (dec)
Bye
Hi,
thanks for the information.
But I do not really understand. What makes the screen more sensitive a higher or a lower value?
Why does the Raphael come with a protection foil if it makes the screen less responsive?
So do you really suggest to take the foil off?
Thanks a lot!
S.
If by protection foil you mean the clear plastic full face film then yes, that is meant to be removed since it covers the earpiece.
If you mean the supplied screen protector that is shaped to fit around the earpiece and front camera then that's up to you whether you fit it and leave it in place or remove it and forgo any screen protection it provides.
Hi,
thanks for the information.
I mean the second one, but does it really reduce the response of the screen?
Why oh why do they include it if that should be the case?
But I do not really understand. What makes the screen more sensitive a higher or a lower value?
Thanks a lot!
S.
Protection Foil does not reduce the response of the screen .. I have the value at 19866(dec) (don't know why, but I'm satisfied with the response )
just tried to set it to 350 (dec) and looks like it's the same for me ...stylus works perfectly with soft touches, finger is about the same..
Hello,
and thanks for your answer.
But I am really irritated. Some say the foil influenced the sensitivity of the sceen. You say it did not.
you put the value rather high, but then when you put it down there is no difference between it. Have I understood that correctly?
Someone said that a high value wasn't of any use.
I am really confused and most disappointed by the sensitivity of the gadget. I have a HTC TyTN, I have a HTC Shift and the screens behave very differently. They welcome my taps, instead of rejection them so to speak.
Thanks for any help.

I've tried to use my Raphael with and without that protection foil and there is no difference at all..don't know how to help
Screen protector saved my phone

I have had various PDA's / XDA's over the past 6 years and never bothered with a screen protector as I thought they would make my device look ugly or make the screen harder to see/use.
However, because my Touch Pro came with one I thought I would try it out. Firstly it fitted so well I couldn't even see it. It made no difference to the look of the device and saw no real difference in response of the screen.
Just TWO days after I bought the Touch Pro I was busy polishing off the fingerprints as usual (!) when the screen caught a metal button on my shirt, causing a very deep scratch on the screen. I was really upset that my brand new device was damaged already... until I peeled back the protector to find no marks whatsoever on the screen!
So I promptly ordered a new pack and learned a lesson that these protectors are definitely worth having.
Hi again,
and thanks for your help.
So there are those who think the protector doesn't influence sensitivity and others who think it will.
Am I really wrong that there isn't any noticable change in the sensitivity of the screen whether I increase the value in the registry or not. Somebody said it did not make any sense to increase the value to a higher number than 240 anyway.
A general question here: Is it really possible to change the sensitivity to a noticable degree by changing the registry entrance, if it is rather a matter of the the way the screen's hardware is made?
Thank you very much!
S.
I've tried to change Threshold to 20 (dec) and I think that it's the same as before (350dec)
I've changed both of them(finger pressure and pressure threshold) to very high using Advanced Config. It is very sensible now and I am satisfied. I have also screenprotector(shipped with device) on the display. So sensible as my lovely old Himalaya.
Don't ask how I did it, but I managed to do something which is very bad, but has yet to have any significant or noticeable impact in camera performance. To walk you through this properly, remove your battery cover. You see that little plastic square which covers your camera, yeah...that? Well, I managed to crack that. I honestly spoiled myself when I did because I use my camera often, but it has had zero affect on the way the phone takes pictures. Now, I'm wondering to all of you hardware junkies...is there a possible way to replace or fix this? I don't want to begin pulling things off, but I will if there is a definitive way. If not, it stays like that. Just let me know your input, thanks.
I need to bump this, because it's getting too far back, and I need an answer lol
So I'm looking at a tablet, it's between the G-Tab and the Archos 101. I like the hardware better on the G-Tab, but keep reading negative things about the screen. Is it possible or has anyone attempted to turn the screen the correct way?
yea im very interested in this also. theres a thread on how to open it up, i mean if we could get a DIY for turning the screen itd be awesome. Help a lot in terms of viewing angles also
There May Be LCD Replacements in the future but atm None that I Know of. There are some that fit but the plugs seem to be wrong. Eather way it might be costly.
I honestly don't know what the big issue with the screen is. It works fine for me. Sure, you may have to move it a little bit one way or the other to find the sweet spot but I don't find it to be as big a deal as I hear people making it. What other tablet in this price range, performance, and size has a better screen? Maybe I am just not real picky but I don't mind the screen.
The only problem I see with physically turning the screen upside internally is some apps aren't built to rotate 180 degrees so if you were using the tablet correctly, all of a sudden an app would be upside down. I think a better idea is switching out the display entirely to something that works better. I would pay for this as I'm not very mechanically inclined with electronics.
I am wondering if anyone has thought of or even tried removing our new GPS/ WiFi panel from the back of the Tablet. What I am thinking of is to cut/ drill holes in it to increase ventilation to allow the heat to dissipte easier. I have seen something similar built it from the new Asus ZenBook. I am thinking that this could possibly allow us to run some of Clemsyn's higher 1.9 or 2.0 Over Clock kernels easier or allow him to go higher with the GPU? I would be willing to try this myself if I could find an easy way to remove that back piece without needing to remove the screen from the rest of the tablet. I am however not sure if it could harm the tablet more then it could help it. I would love to for some advice and suggestions.

Hey fellow GR TF700 owner! Nope, unfortunately there is no way to remove the back piece without removing the screen, ect. You are really talking about a full tear down of the tablet, and rebuild after adding the vents. Sounds like fun though, I am an avid PC modder and if you are looking for a partner in modding, look no further!

Thanks for the input. I didn't know there were so many XDA member from the West Michigan area. I am still debating on performing the operation on my Tablet and I have in fact seen that tutorial. I am just still not sure if it would in fact be a positive. I know that I would have to put some sort of mesh on the inside to prevent dirt from getting inside. I just always notice that my tablet can get arm on the top left corner after a while even if I am using the keyboard. I noticed this even before I unlocked and also recall it happening on my Prime.
It would seem that your warranty may not cover this if you messup on it. I got this info here. Just thought I would give a fair warning
Thanks for the fair warning. I already figured that the warranty would not be valid after i put holes in my device on purpose. I am just trying to figure out if it would in fact help lower the temperature of the device with ventilation holes. I know that our tablets may not be up to standards with actual lap tops or computers, however I do believe that we have better processors internals then early PC's and they even had cooling fans and better ventilation. I do know that we have devices now that are way to thin to put cooling fans or liquid cooling tubes, but why would it not help to put well places ventilation to help our device run cooler and more efficient. I notice that the biggest difference when my devices starts to get hotter is that the battery drains quicker. I have noticed this with any device I have overclocked that once the temperature starts rising, the battery starts dropping quicker.

Heat is a form of energy, so the reason for this should be obvious.
Is it me or do you guys feel the touch sensitivity is much lower than other phones? It is not a big issue and barely noticeable during daily use but at least in my handset it feels like slightly extra pressure has to be added to the screen. Could someone verify?
thanks
I think my feeling is completely unfounded, but I have sometimes some "missed" :
When I use the keyboard: I make more mistakes than my old phone, while the keys are much larger ...
Sometimes I need to really "press" the screen with the finger much harder than my old phone
I agree with you, I feel like I need to put more pressure on this than my Samsung Note 10.1, my SO's iPhone 4s, or even my old LG Optimus & iPhone 3g. I got used to it after a while but I wish there was a way to re-calibrate the screen sensitivity.
If someone knows of a way to do it (without requiring root) I'd appreciate it so much. (Unlocking bootloader/rooting invalidates warranty in the US AFAIK, so I don't want to do it quite yet..)
Its hard to notice during regular use, but its suprising that even a basic chinese phone has better response.
