Camera crashing when using password managers - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Just thought I would post this here as my camera was crashing as soon as I opened it with a message "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped."
Apparently using a password manager like LastPass that does auto form fills for apps using the Accessibility Service is causing the camera to crash.
If you go into Settings>Accessibility and under Services turn off LastPass the camera will work again.
There is a thread on the VZW forums about it here:
https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/819306
Update:
Found a better fix on the LastPass forum https://forums.lastpass.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=125715
1. Open Lastpass preferences in the app on your M8
2. Open Edit App Associations
3. Under Camera select "Do Not Show Fill Window"

I use KeePassDroid to match my KeePass Professional in Windows. It won't autofill, but nothing has crashed on me.

That would explain why my camera was doing that. I'll have to test it when I get my One back.

Did and Did more then one time non of these helped.
try one of the UN official fbook apps.
I am with Trusselo on this - try one of the unofficial apps. I like FB Black personally, but there are a few out there. Also when I have an issue with it not connecting it is usually because I have changed how I am connected since I first open the app. For example we have six wifi points at my work and if I am walking around the building and go off one onto another then it seems to confuse the app. Turning the wifi off and back on again on the phone and restarting the app is the most I have to do to fix it.
Uninstall fb app. Go to accounts and add fb as a account. After that install the official fb app.

If i do this will facebook add all my friends to my contacts and what not? I don't want everyone on facebook in my phone. Thanks again for the help. Guess i can try and see what happens lol.
Have you tried using the official Facebook app again since when you were having those problems? I have was having that same problem a few days ago too and it went away last night when I gave it a shot again...
I was also having an issue with the official FB app so I uninstalled it, rebooted my phone, re-installed it and now it's working great.

Facebook on browser

I'm not one to want to install the app, but does anyone notice the browser just freezes when navigating to facebook. It used to just do it to me occasionally when I would view a pic to comment... now it loads facebook up and just freezes as soon as it loads. Any ideas? Anyone know how to use the facebook app without having it run all the time? I've always used the browser because the app feels like such an invasion of privacy.

Download Chrome from the Market. You'll never look back.
Or Tinfoil for Facebook
Tinfoil for Facebook is for those users that require a Tinfoil Hat when logging in to Facebook. It creates a sandbox for Facebook's mobile site in order to protect your privacy and to avoid them tracking your browsing history. Requires INTERNET permissions, and if you are skeptic about it, feel free to check the source code here: https://github.com/velazcod/Tinfoil-Facebook
It also requires the "COARSE_LOCATION" permission. This is NOT used UNLESS you enable "Allow Check-ins" on the preferences, otherwise Check-ins won't work. This option is disabled by default.
Latest:
- Ability to upload pictures through the web interface (Newsfeed -> Photo -> Choose file). This is not the same as "picture sharing" since you can't do it from your favorite gallery application yet, that's coming soon.
- Holo theme for Honeycomb/ICS devices.

[Q] Random Backup Pictures?

I have searched all over the forums and I cannot find anything about this. I made a google plus account the other day and after I made it I went to my gallery and there were backups of all my pictures and I don't want them there. I've tried just about everything from going into the app and seeing if there were any options to stop it, from going into my phones settings. I can't seem to find where to turn this off at, it's really getting on my nerves because I want them gone and I can't just delete them! Thanks in advance!
Did you rush through the installation of Google plus? There's an option to sync pictures and stuff I think.

I saw that and I unchecked it and still they won't go away.
If I remember correctly you have to login to your Google account settings and then uncheck from there but it has been a long time since I turned mine off.

I went to an app that was called google settings and I went to camera & photos and turned off auto backup that's the only thing that I can think to do. I went back and still no dice the photos are still there.
This is the image from my phone showing the pictures. You can see that there is the one folder that is named camera. The other ones are the backup photos can't be deleted.
That's Picasa back ups. Go into settings, under Accounts select Google. Then at the top it should show your Gmail account and when it synced last, tap it. Then scroll down and uncheck Sync Picasa Web Albums. That will stop it adding any more. To get rid of the ones already there I THINK you clear data/cache for the gallery app... But it's been awhile since I did it. I just remember it took me forever to get rid of them... I didn't need over 1000 pics backed up twice.

HTC mail app

Hello all,
I've decided to ditch Gmail and use the stock mail app. One if my accounts was hacked recently so Google had me add an extra layer of protection that when ever I sign in from another new device (or when I change ROMS) it sends me a verification code in a text message to complete the sign in. Is this what's preventing me from being able to sign into my account using the HTC mail app? Is there a way around it or something I'm missing when trying to set it up.
Thanks,
Mark

You have to go into your Google security settings and get a unique password that you will use for the HTC mail app. You will use the password supplied when you setup the mail app instead of your Google password. You will find it near the bottom of the security screen.

Where are the Google security settings at? I was able to go to Google settings and hit the 3 dots on the to right and one of the options was to get a verification code and it gave me one. I tried to use it as a password without a space in the middle and with but it still says failed.

I am not near a computer right now but you might need to get to the Google security settings via a browser. A verification code will definitely not work. You need to set an app specific password. Try to Google search "two step authentication app specific password" sorry I can't be of more help right now. If I was near a computer I could give you exact steps.

https://www.google.com/settings/security
Then click on settings for app passwords
It will generate a one time use password that will not be shown again after initially generated. You can save it if you wish, but you can generate as many as you wish so there really isn't a need. You can also revoke it at any time.
Thanks to both of you for the help. It worked like a charm.

Glad you got it to work. Too bad Google doesn't make that function a bit more obvious.

How do I get the native messenger app to stop opening external links in the built in

It's really irritating that there's no option to automatically open links externally and I have to chose open in browser every time.

Yeah, any third party message app does. It's a problem with the native one. I actually like the native one for once.
