I used the HTC Sync Backup and Restore to move from the M7 to the M8 but I did not think it would change the basic colors and settings. Anyone know how to put them back without resetting the phone. Like now the clock is white text on black.

Hiya! My question is which system app or settings file is responsible for Icon placement, so i can restore that via Titanium to put my icons back.
I recently flashed my Captivate to FroYo and re-installed my apps from Titanium was wondering if there was any way to get my Icon placement back using a backup from Eclair. I can't do a batch app+system data restore, especially with a diff android version, as it causes things to force close. If there is no specific app or file, what is the best way, if any, to get that icon placement back?
When I go to change themes it just opens up the last app I was using and doesn't change the theme. Im stuck with the original theme (blue)
I have the same problem. I put CM7 on a Supersonic and I can't change it. I uninstalled the theme, reset the launcher, selected the option to switch back to the original theme several times, reset the phone, selected the option to use default android icons but it chages noting. The first theme I ever tried on this phone and now its permanently stuck there.
I am trying to set the handcent sms as default on my girlfriends chacha..
But i dont get to a place where i can choose it.
It has 2.3 i believe. It has the fancy circle lock screens so im guessing its 2.3.
In 2.2on my HTC desire z.. i get to choose a default sms app every time i download an sms app. This is not the case on the chacha. I cant even choose to set it by default in settings, programs. I cant choose to clear default of the stock sms function.
is the only way to do it by removing stock sms notifications, or is there another way?

On my Sensation if i long press on a contact it comes up with a menu. If i select to send a sms it asks which app to do this action by default. For which to use for incoming i have to turn off the notifications in the stock sms app and this is the same on my Desire, Legend and Wildfire too. Are you sure you can on the Desire Z? If so where?
It seems strange that i have Sensation, Desire, Legend and Wildfire and you have the Cha Cha and they all behave the same but the Desire Z doesn't.
As the title indicates I have no "goto" icons in my lockscreen and my home screen is missing the most important icons, the only on there is the middle one for all apps.

Is this a know bug and is there a way to sort it? Yes I have tried reinstalling the rom without any luck.
It seems to work with other launchers (Go Launcher and LauncherPro) but I really just want the stock feel.
Also settings seem to crash a lot...
I had this kind of issue with the lockscreen. If you can, try running the HTC setup app. It hopefully will restore it. Make sure you don't have any repeating Force Close messages, especially with HTC apps. That locks up the whole thing and usually forces you to have to restore a nandroid backup.
Well, that kinda worked for the lockscreen, I now have settings and one other thing there. I seem to remember there used to be a way to customize which icons to show? Any idea where to find it?
Anyone got any tips on the home screen icons?
hy,
Just wondering how to make sure samsung backup and restore the home screen setting via cloud after flashing a new custom rom? Sometime some roms do not have that possibility and also wondering why some developers chose to remove this cloud backup and restore function when cooking their roms.
Is there a way to do that via xml or buildprop settings?
Cheers
x 2, I'd like to know also.
I found that when my phone puts some apps to sleep it causes a few app icons on the home screen to become white.
I discovered that if I backup the home screen launcher in Titanium, I can restore my home screen settings/icons!
