just for information for everyone using Google Music Beta. I came across this problem myself and thought I would share what I found with others. Post by VoidedSaint
If you are a google beta music tester, and you have flashed multiple roms on your phone and when you try to stream music from google, and you get the you have authorized blah blah blah deauthorize an account to use this service.
Google music beta has a certain number of accounts that are associated with Google Music Beta
it allows only 8
once you have reached 8 you have to go to the website to deactivate a several accounts.
now for instance this is what i found was my issue
open google music on my phone, no file could be played because it said i had too many accounts linked to my google music, i instantly thought wtf! is google giving away information that allows others to connect to my music?
so i go on to google music beta, go under settings to see what is connected to it
nick-pc
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
Motorola DROIDX
all within 1 to 2 days apart from 1 another
i dont remember because this happened last night that i took care of it, but im going by sheer memory.
i deactivated each Motorola DROIDX account, and reopened google music back on my phone, sure enough i was able to listen to music again.
so in other words
if you flash a new rom, or wipe data/factory reset deactivate your google music on the dx through the web, or else it will continue to build up like mine has. However it may have just been an anomaly for me. But if you have flashed multiple roms and are on Google Music Beta, check to see what is connected to you.
i just figured some of you would want to know this nice little bit of information. Because apparently google music doesnt read esn or s/ns for phones they just recognize the phone and whenever google music is reinstalled, well you get the idea.
I haven't run across this yet but thanks for the awesome heads up! I love having fixes BEFORE I see the issues!

I've had it happen twice
See I flash so much that I often don't make it through a day without 3 or 4 flashes. I don't even use my music beta that often cause I've been groove shark-ing and player pro-ing mostly. My girlfriend thinks I'm an idiot for flashing my phone constantly.
She also says that she's going to pretend to be a smartphone so that I'll pay attention to her hahahaha

Hello All,
It might seems funny, but I am struggling with my first ever android (Samsung Nexus) that i bought 4 days back (In Netherlands, Simlock free, without any contract) but I am unable to launch even Google Play Store App on it.
I don't have any default store app ,so i tried to install multiple version of Google Play App, so that I can access and download apps, but every time when I pressed the icon it blink for a moment and then nothing happens. I tried to clear data, restarted cell multiple times, but no luck. Please help how can I access Google play app or android market to download app.
i am stuck with it for a long time now. Request all experts to help me so that I can fully utilized my new nexus.
Have you tried uninstalling and re installing Play Store?

Reinstall Android 4.0.3. There is a thread out here with the link to the full signed rom. You can install it from stock recovery
In my ABOUT PHONE : full maguro 4.0.1 icl23d 288 test keys
I believe that is a test build and not a regular unit for retail customer so It's not equipped with Google apps.
Anyways, I am going to store to get either new unit or any fix for the same, but if anyone here already faced this kind of issue and can provide me any guidance, it will be good help.
You re in the wrong thread... try galaxy nexus forum. This is nexus s.

So as many of you know, yesterday Google published the stock Nexus and GPe camera to the Play Store, albeit highly improved and reworked. I have a hunch that next we will get the Google Dialler and People app there, because the People app needs reworking. I believe that for the 'L' version of android (or 4.5) will focus on making the need for system updates very tiny, as only core things such as the kernel or frameworks would need patching. Thoughts?

I am also getting this error on ICS icysnap V2.0. I think this error is occurring due to some bug or incompatibility of latest google play service apk with our device. I have submitted the error report to google. I hope they will fix this soon. For the time being i have uninstalled the google play service. By going to Security > Device Administrator then uncheck the google admin. After this you can uninstall the application in usual way.
Previous version of google play services working fine.

I have also experienced this. Mostly happened while Gmail is syncing. Happened on cm-9, cm-10.1.6, and affected apps on cm-7.But Play Services works perfect on official stock gingerbread. So I think it's a combination of causes. Authentication of apps and services running on unofficial roms, and APIs that are built for armv7 devices. But I'm only guessing. Haven't had time to study my logcats yet. May 14 update seems to be a little better. But it's still not fixed.
Edit: May 16 update, still not fixed. Have read and verified that it works better on WiFi. On WiFi, Gmail, after syncing (and caching that sync) will not cause Play Services to close. But on mobile network, it does.
May 19 update to Google Play Services (version 4.4.52):
I think it's fixed
Updated several apps and synced Gmail. Did not get annoying message. Running cm-9.2.0 (hephappy).

Need gmscore.apk in /system/app. That enables play services. Set permissions to 644 (rw-,r--,r--). Google play services with automatically update after a few minutes.

Use a file manager and go to / system/app, and look to see if gmscore is still there. Long press on it to select and view properties. Properties should include permissions, which should be set to:
User: rw-
Groups: r--
Others: r--
The binary representation of this is 644
If gmscore is not there, then you may have it in your backups from TiBU.

Managed to fix it but I had to reinstall all the apps I had removed one by one as TB would not do a batch.
Kept throwing an error.
I really need to know what I can and cant remove as I rooted this phone to get rid of some of the apps I dont use they just clutter the whole system
Same bug after reinstallation of the firmware. I think there are some issues on Google's side.
FIXED!!! Finally Found This Fix!
I was unable to listen to my music for 48 hours, which is hell to me as I'm ALWAYS listening to music. This also looks horrible on Google/Android as I just left iOS (which honestly is a better OS than Android, but Android has come a long way so I'm optimistic about its future...and I also love my Moto X and prefer Android to iOS overall (minus these little annoying issues)). Anyway, finally fixed it by Uninstalling the update made on the Google Play Music app.
Go to Settings - Apps - Google Play Music - and select Uninstall Updates. Hope this helps.

This seems to have fixed the issue for me. Uninstalled Play Music, then reinstalled, and has been working fine since. Good thing too, as it was popping up twice in quick succession every 30 seconds almost. Very frustrating!
Anyway, thanks
EDIT: Seems I spoke too soon
im still umable to do it
I also have this problem, using most recent gapps.
Same problem
I've been having the same problem up until a couple of days ago Play Services worked fine but when ever i open the Google Keyboard the message pops up "Unfortunately Google Play Services has stopped working" and idea what the problem might be. My version is 7.0.97 (1791429-034)
Thanks for the help.

That one is really old, may cause other, but thankfully quieter problems. Would like to downgrade to a 6.6 version if I can find the link, however...

Back to version 7.* and the problem recurs. Need to defeat its auto upgrade, but this is not a normally-listed app on Play. Maybe after the audo-upgrade happens, one can get to its setting from "my-apps" pane, recently upgraded.

Basically what's in the topic. It's a Nexus 5 phone with the original Android OS (latest version 6.0.1), it's not and it's not locked to any particular carrier.
I was never asked to install that app , I wasn't even browsing Google Play Store today, neither from the phone, nor my computer that logged in to my Google account.
How is it even possible? Who installed that app on my phone without my consent? Frankly I wouldn't even care, but this app is basically taking your phonebook data, so it's kinda creeping me out that it's popped on my phone just like that.

Don't think so, in the list of recently used devices I can only see my computers.
