I've got a weird issue that I just noticed today.
Nexus 5 stock rooted 4.4.2 with xposed/gravitybox mod only.
Photos taken with the camera is fine, filename is the timestamp and the timestamp exif is correct.
But when I take a photo within Hangouts, the filename is right, but the timestamp exif is wrong. It's always Dec 31, 1969.
I've cleared data/cache on both camera app and hangouts app, I've also cleared cache and dalvik cache.
Any ideas?
You're a time traveler!!!

That's really weird, because Unix time is from 01/01/70. I'm not a programmer though, so all I can offer by way of help is that mildly interesting factoid.

I spoke too soon. I have problems with sky ics. When taking video and pictures it does not save pictures or videos anymore. It reverts back to a certain picture I took. I cannot delete that picture either. Tried clearing camera cache. Quickview cache. Messaging cache(tried capturing picture from text message field). Hmm any ideas? Is this common?

Will do. Was just thinking that. Can take pictures they just won't save. Sucks too because I videos my little boys having a silly string war and getting their mom. Video was epic. Now I realized it never saved it. Lol

Okay. Fixed. Reflashed and fixed issue. What's weird is I flashed to cw7. It kept all my apps installed as is. Once I reflashed it sky
Ics it did not keep my apps.
My video I took earlier and lots of pictures reappeared as if nothing was ever wrong. Either way I'm happy again. And I went ahead and purchased the premium xda. Nice site

Does anyone else have issues with Gmail not sending attachments, particularly pictures and videos? I've always had this issue across multiple phones/ROMs/carriers, and it's very frustrating. The only solution I get that works is to reboot my phone. What does that mean?
I've tried over WiFi and mobile internet connection. Both just sit in my outbox until I restart the phone.
Currently on Liquid Smooth 2.8 (official) paired with the latest ktoonz kernel. Latest version of Gmail.
Ideas anyone? Anyone else experience this?

Wow, I'm the only person with this issue?? I thought it would be much more common.
It's very annoying to take adorable videos of my six month old and not be able to send them to anyone reliably.

You're definitely not the only one bud, I've had it happen to me. I gave up on it since I noticed it wasn't working regardless of what I did to Gmail. For me, I realized it would be easier to transfer it to my computer and send rather than to mess around with the Gmail apps limitations. It wasn't pressing enough for me since I don't send files from my phone via email.

is it only attachments that don't send? if they sit in outbox go into your app list and wipe the data and cache for gmail..I usually have to do it after I restore a ROM..I've sent 10mg byte multiple pics with no problems...

The other day I tried to email myself 8 pics and the message sat in my outbox. I tried rebooting and clearing data/cache nothing worked. I finally got them to send by splitting it into 2 emails with 4 pics each. Maybe a size limitation?
I'm trying to upload pictures on facebook but am running into an issue saying "facebook upload failed". It doesnt give any indication of what the issue is, however uploading through the website from chrome works fine. Attached are screenshots of the issue. The issue happens instantaneously as soon as i hit "post"
I've tried uploading from the gallery by hitting "share" and also from the photos app as well as straight from the facebook app. I am running on ART, and while I haven't tested it on dalvik, my friend with a nexus 4 on 4.4 kitkat on ART is uploading facebook photos just fine on the latest version of the facebook app.
Before anyone suggests it, I've tried:
-reinstalling the facebook app
-clearing data/cache from the facebook app
-re-adding my account
-tried uploading pictures from camera, pictures downloaded from the internet, and screenshots
-restoring the whole system (tried it before and after unlocking bootloader which wiped out everything)
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
I am having the EXACT same issue on my Moto X, stock, running 4.4 on ART. It's maddening.
I've done everything you've done and more. I've tried the beta and the alpha apks and nothing. This is driving me nuts, but I'm glad I'm not alone. Will be subscribing to this thread and will update if I find a fix.

Having the same issue with a different Facebook app called tinfoil. So maybe it's KitKat related?

Tried the official Facebook app and it works fine on dalvik. Looks like my issue is not related to yours.

Cool, let me know how it goes!
Facebook can **** themselves if this is an ART only issue. I'm not going back to that stuttering and laggy dalvik just so I can post pics to that ****ty site. I'm ONLY on it to keep in contact with long distance friends.

Mine worked fine on ART for days. I'm going to switch back and see what's up now. If it works, I bet it goes bad after a couple days again. I actually sent a bug report to FB. We'll see of they follow up.

Seems that the Newest Facebook App update (4.0.0.3.3) has broken the ability to upload photos while on ART Runtime. I switched back to Dalvik to confirm and was able to upload photos. I am going back to version 3.9 (if i can find the apk) where photo uploads still work while on ART

Make sure you disable auto-update first
They will update it the second you push the apk.

confirmed my friend is using version 3.9 of facebook app. I guess we'll have to wait for an update, or I can try to grab the APK from him.

Got my nexus 5 today, and I have ran across an issue (I think its common) of android deleting the timestamps of images when you transfer them to a new device. I tried copying with windows, Bluetooth, NFC (Superbeam) but all these ways reset the timestamps of the pictures and just kinda screw up the whole collection.
Is there a workaround for this?
Thanks.

I don't think so.
You can edit metadata manually on a pc with third-party software. I had to do it a little time ago, but I don't know the application's name anymore. Google probably knows

The metadata doesn't change. What does change however is the file's "created" time stamp, which means teh images you took no longer show up in file managers / gallery etc in the order you took them.
I thought the metadata of a file includes this timestamp?
Edit: You're right.

I'm surprised there's not some way, this is 2014, and they have 2k 5" displays and phones with 18mo cameras why can't the phone save the timestamp when I copy a picture?
I just decided to use auto backup and not transfer the photos to my 5 because without timestamps from 1 an a half years of photos the collection looks real messy.

Hey guys,
For about two days now, ever since I updated my Nexus 5 (running on T-Mobile) to 4.4.3 using the OTA, Google Hangouts is failing to send texts in phases. For one hour or so it'll fail every other text until I resend it, then after that it works for a few hours again perfectly fine, then back to failing some.
I'm going to try using Evolve SMS for a bit to see if it happens there, but something tells me this isn't Hangouts' fault.
I am rooted and have a custom recovery, but it's been that way for months (Before 4.4.3 update) and I doubt would affect it.
Thanks,
David
Try cheating the cache in hangouts. If that doesn't work uninstall it, reboot, and then reinstall it from play store

I'll do that, I just cleared my cache/dalvik too. Unfortunately Hangouts is hardwired into stock so I can only uninstall updates, but if it acts up again I'll try that.

I do, although I'll use that as a last resort at the moment haha. Still think it's a more widespread-than hangouts problem.
Update: Switched to Evolve SMS, still happening x.x
I was also having this issue using Chompsms. Reverted back to 4.4.2 and the issue is gone. Also on T-Mobile

I think it was with T-Mo in my area. My friend was on Nexus 5 stock 4.4.2 and having the problem, it's since gone.
Tldr: Issue resolved itself, was likely T-Mobile's side
