CBC Olympic app in store says only Canada.
Is there a work around to get it while in in the USA?

Hi all,
I just wanted to share a simple app I wrote to check the gas prices in major Canadian cities, pulling data from Dan Mcteague's Tomorrow's Gas Price Today site.
Search for "dm gas price" on android market to try it!
Hi
I'm going on a 5 weeks trip to the states, mostly west (Yellowstone, Grand canyon, Vegas, LA, San Francisco) and a week in New York.
I want to buy a local SIM and sign up for a plan. My needs are: At least 2GB data, 200-300 minutes local calls, tethering (I'm rooted if it helps).
Do you guys have a recommendation for a carrier and a plan?
Thanks!

check with your current provider sometimes they offer a out of country service, you pay a little more then normal but you wont get roaming fees or nothing.
Your phone may be carrier locked even though your rooted, you didnt specify so yeah
The Isis Mobile Wallet was announced yesterday in limited rollout to Austin and Salt Lake City for now. http://news.paywithisis.com/
What struck me as interesting is the reference to needing to got to an AT&T store and pick up a new "secure element SIM". Since I don't live in one of those cities, I'm wondering where I can find more details about this SIM and if it's something that can be used to finally bring Google Wallet support to our phones.

Unfortunately it will not. The Google Wallet only works on embedded secure elements that are contained in the certain phones like the SGS3 and Galaxy Nexus. The new AT&T/Isis SIM can be used with Isis Mobile Wallet only (unless both of these conditions happen: 1) AT&T decides to let the Google Wallet into their secure element (SE) AND 2) Google is willing to pay the "rental" fees to get into the AT&T secure element. My bet is that Neither will happen.
So, for the Skyrocket, it will be Isis or nothing. However, given that the Skyrocket does have NFC and (being based on the Galaxy S2 line) *should* have SWP (Single Wire Protocol...it is a physical connection between the NFC system and the SE on the SIM), there is a good bet it will be enabled and you can get one when it is released to a wider audience.
AT&T has is app blocked doesn't appear in the play store.

Hello, I make a question to you: a new year I will be traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada and would like to know where I can buy the "Nexus 5" released from manufactures and sells in a store, not google play store. I tell them that I'm not American and I will be in USA for almost a month. In my country I can not buy from google store and did not play in that store I get the same price (399).
If I can not buy the "Nexus 5" I would buy the Sony Xperia Z1 for the following reason: In stores like bestbuy I can buy released from manufactures the "galaxy s4" or "lg optimus g2" but at a higher price than the Sony and seal not think of better quality than the Sony Z1 that SonyStores sold 649.99. What you think about buying the Xperia Z1 and where I can buy the "Nexus 5"

well. as far buying them in store, places like best buy, radio shack, and t-mobile should have them. the problem is that they may not work properly depending on what country you use them in. the north american version has frequency bands that are used in north america. the international version has bands used internationally. so if you buy a device in north america it may not fully work or not work at all internationally.
OP is from Argentina, South America according to XDA signature info - and, 4G LTE might not be as important unless s/he is using the N5 for global travel. According to GSM info table that I referenced (if it's updated) it's the usual & popular quadband and 3G data on UMTS 850 and UMTS 1900 (maybe 1800) - if this is accurate, the North America model should be fine - future network upgrade & 4G/LTE upgrade not withstanding.
For Las Vegas, the Fashion Mall on the the Las Vegas Blvd. a/k/a mid "Strip" has T-Mobile store/kiosk and should be stocked with it, but selling above Google Store prices - in addition to Best Buy, which is off the popular tourist "Strip" but with locations less than 5 miles away, an easy taxi ride away or easy to reach if OP has access to a rental car.
Or, if OP is staying in a LV hotel or a few days or longer, it might be possible to order from Google Store & have it shipped to the hotel and have them hold it if it arrived earlier than expected - or to forward it (or ship to a UPS retail location in LV for pickup)
Is there a way to get Google wallet in Canada?
I know Rogers is partnering with CIBC and Bell with RBC. But is there a app like Google wallet which does the same thing but in Canada??
There is no way to get google wallet in Canada at the moment (play store won't let it be downloaded out side if the US)
What would happen if next time you were in the States and you picked up a prepaid Visa gift card, could you then download the wallet app and activate the card for payment while still In the USA. And the bigger question would it still work once you get back to Canada
What about those who have dual citizenship? Can they get use of the Wallet app, say, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday?
Americans don't try to steal your universal healthcare, so don't steal their exclusive Wallet app j/k
Well i tried it on my GPE HTC one with android 4.4 at metro the other day. It did not work. I got a message telling me international transactions are not supported. The app however was easy to setup. I just added my US based google account and it let me download the wallet app off of the play store. I added my canadian CC with a us billing address.
