Ripping right off some other phones forums, I decided to make one of these things for us SENNY-STUCKs as well.
In this thread, you can share your experience, views, and other general topics with each other.
That will include for example speed, graphics, or battery improvement tips, a combination of ROMs, kernels, and mods that has given you a good performance, or even more, to which no thread has been specifically dedicated.
Here can be like a kind of chat room, where Sensation (whether regular Sensation, XE, or 4G; all are the same) users can have a talk together regarding whatever they like (or do not like) on their phones, even off-topic.

For me it's battery, system storage (i wasn't able to install ubuntu because of the lack of system storage) and sometimes ram.
But overall the is great, even now.

Guys, I have something new in my head; but don't know if it's even doable.
We know that both /system and /data have the same format (ext4), and are on the same storage (eMMC); I have like some space free on /system, so, what if I move all /data/data folders and files to /system, and make a shortcut of it in /data to their location in /system instead? Anyone got an idea?

RAM is the most screwing up one in my opinion. A very fundamental issue.

Yeah the ram is the problem on this device , if we just had 1 gb of ram.. :angel:

Sounds like a good idea to me if using cm anyway as of the system free space. I would try it but haven't yet (not on cm), is that moving /data/apps to system eg. /system/data/apps and creating a sym link to it (Root explorer has this option if you long press the folder). I would leave /data/dalvik-cache and /data/data on the data partition for speed.

I did that for /data/data and caused me a bootloop. I'd like to try for /data/app too.

You could move and symlink it. This was link2sd do (but to /sdext)
but this is kinda useless, our /system partition is quite small (especially in sense rom) it wouldn't fit, And if you didin't have any GUI app to control it. it will be hard to you to control it (for example: Updating app,Reinstall,Uninstall require you to do over the job)

I would definitely buy a N5. The only downside is the camera which isn't that important.

I currently have been running Virtuous Inquisition on my sensation and love it for one exception.. everytime i reboot my phone ALL my playlist get deleted. I checked all installed apps i have to see if any are deleting cache or something on boot but cant find one. Any on having this problem with playlist? Also, it doesnt matter what music app i use to make/save the playlist, they always get deleted. please help!

Anyways, just moved the mms.apk to system/apps change permissions, then reboot.

You probably want to make a back up before just in case. But using es file explorer, go into settings and enable up to root, root explorer and mount file system. Copy the mms.apk into /system/app then paste. Click yes to over write the file. Then long press mms.apk, click on properties, click change under permissions, user, group, other should all have checkmarks under read/write, click ok. Exit file explorer then reboot.
It's as easy as that, haha.

either im really blind but i don't seem to have the /system/app directory in my sd card. i'm running ARHD 6.6.2 if that helps

Thank to the creator/uploader for the file.
But I've got a problem, I moved the file to /system/app, overwrote the previous file, and changed the the permissios to rw-rw-rw-, yet when I reboot, the app isn't installed, now I have no sms functionality, which makes me sad.
I even tried my luck and attempted to install it, it threw me an error about "Application not installed"....
HTC have released an Android 4.1.1 ROM with Sense 4+ for Ville Plus (The Taiwan exclusive White One S with S4 Qualcomm chip) and thanks to Football we now have a link for it

The Problem,
Since JellyBean releases HTC have added extra protection around their RUU's making the rom.zip file still getable from the RUU but with what bender_007 says are extra bytes - this means that any attempt to extract the system.img gives a CRC error.
This is not particuarly my area of expertise so I hope those with more knowledge/ideas will come and discuss this

I hate HTC attitude, they said that they won't release JB for old devices and lock the ROM files. I wish you guys the best of luck solving it and giving us, once again, the best ROM available.

nah..you can't flash it , but you can try to. The app has too some conditions on flashing .
We can override the conditions, someone would flash it and then dump the image.

HI ALL, I'm here to give this thing in (AIN'T DEVELOPER YET, JUST EDITOR ) :
CREATE 50/75/100/113/114MB SWAP SPACE IN DATA PARTITION FOR FASTER ACCESS! [EDITED FOR CM-BASED ROMs USERS WHOSE CACHE DRIVE HAS NOT GOT MUCH SPACE AVAILABLE, BECAUSE OF DALVIK CACHE. (RE-BASED TURBO BOOST - BY DELTA-ROH)
~NEw version now released in the original TurboBoost thread~
Accordingly, those users who have got a CM-based ROM, cannot gain more than 40~50MB Swap space in /cache drive, which the ROM is using for dalvik-cache as well.
So, I just edited the scripts of delta-roh's TurboBoost for CM users so that they could use a faster Swap partition without using the SD Card.
Installation Method:
1) Put the file attached in your SD Card
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Install ZIP from SD Card
4) Choose the file
5) Follow the on-screen Instructions
FOR NOOBS: BEWARE THAT DATA PARTITION IS JUST THE PARTITION WHICH YOU GET APPLICATIONS INSTALLED BY DEFAULT ON, THIS MEANS THAT THERE WOULD BE "THE SPACE YOU CHOSE AS SWAP" LESS THAN USUAL FOR APPS, ALTHOUGH I PREFER A BETTER SPEED RATHER THAN (AT MOST) 114MB MORE INSTALL SPACE!

u shouldnt expect ur sensation perform like the one x for example! :S this is just to improve the ability of multitasking and prevent the phone to get slowed down while simultaneously several apps are running mate

I use a softswap 125Mb in the sultan kernel install.
The SoftSwap is also a swap in the data. What is the difference with your?

that's a feature of Sultan Kernel mate. what about the default bruce's kang rom users? this is just a way, an individual and easy way of creating a softswap.

certainly, but cache drive is more free in sense roms, so i recommend the original mod

Hi, first sorry to create a new thread in development section but I would be sure every one who's facing this problem can find this solution.
On JB Sense roms (viper & revelation & aosp) some users have touch problem when scrolling or when open notification bar etc
After a lot of researches I tried this:
I changed the LCD DENSITY from 240 to 250 and rebooted. AND WHAT? NO more lagging and problem with touch responsivness !!!
- Tried on viper 3.1.2 just after full wipe and installing the rom, you can try on any JB rom which give you this issue.
- I came back to 240 and the problem was back so I'm sure the problem come from LCD density even if I have no idea AT ALL of why it's related but maybe devs can give some lights.
- You can find LCD density changer on playstore or in viper rom in tweaks.
Hope this has helped.
That is going to make things larger on the screen right?
Its a bummer for me as I always change dpi to 213, I got used to it and now 240 is too big for me lol.

And changing to 213 has solved the issue for you? I changed to 250 but not tested with others dpi, so anyone can confirm with other dpi if it works or not. Thanks

ro.sf.lcd_density=240

It's a re-calibration tool which I uploaded myself, that's in my mediafire account. It wipes /data and calibrates the touchscreen.
Well, I didn't try, I recommended for you. I don't currently feel annoyed of my phone; it sometimes bothers though.

Heyyy, I ain't handing you a C4 or something! This is a tool I got here in xda. Pay attention to the checkup done while booting into bootloader, as it's searching for some tools.

But caution, it wipes your data! Put it in root of your sd card and boot into bootloader. Then delete it after the process.

I start right now a Nand and I will test it for you guys, later I will came with a conclusion. Later meaning allso after I drink a few beers

It does boot... I had tried before.. Not on this ROM. But as it has got its data wiped, it may take much time, did you wait enough?

It does't make any sense to wait more... I wait for it a couple of minutes but it does't even go to boot screen it stucks at the first htc logo when I power on the phone if it was about patience it must go at least in boot sectiob but it does't

I don't really know why it should do so, as I said, I have tried before. You have your nand backup, don't you?
